Good dinner at a great price. Very friendly service. My husband and I shared the 4 piece broaster chicken dinner - delicious! And our son had a grilled cheese with fries. He liked his grilled cheese so much that he said the following: a) "This reminds me of a Brooklyn diner grilled cheese." (high praise) and b) when asked if he liked the grilled cheese more than McDonald's ice cream, he said yes! Now he wants to go back for breakfast and asked sincerely if we stop in Yreka again, can we come back here for dinner?

Excellent food. Friendly and attentive staff. Great location. Definitely recommend. I had crepes, hubby had broasted chicken.

Good food and friendly service. Reasonable prices. High marks on that alone.
But here's the thing: these folks went way above and beyond in service. After spending 5+ hours getting turned back by an icy mess on I-5, coming back to Yreka and looking for some grub, these folks decided to stay open long past their usual closing time to feed us and several other weary travelers.
Any time I find myself in this town, I know where I'm going to eat!

I've been eating at poor Georges for more than 15 years. the new building is great. Wish they were 24/7 still, but the service is always good, my cup is always full, the price is right, and the portions are large.

Amazing staff, delicious food, huge portions, reasonably priced. Plus they have Diet Dr Pepper. The staff at this restaurant went above and beyond to keep the doors open for 2 hours past closing to feed people who were turned back at the pass due to an accident. I have never, in all my life, had anyone do that for me. Inspiring to see in a business!

Very good mushroom and sourdough burger. Medium rare done properly. We were there in between meals so there were not very many people but they were all locals. That has to be good!

The food I had isn't what gets this establishment a 5 star rating. Don't get me wrong, the food was solid, the fries were crisp, the burger cooked well, the bacon is good, the pork chop was juicy and seasoned well, it'd be a solid 4 on the food. What get's this establishment a 5 star is their service. My friends and I got stuck on the California side of an I-5 closure. By the time we'd sat in traffic for 6 hours we were hungry and at 10:46pm we pulled into the lot when they close at 11pm. Not only did they serve us, they served at least a dozen other folks, they stayed open well past midnight letting people come in and get some good hot food. The wait staff was exceptionally friendly, honest and open about what they had left and why some things were no longer available (they had a little soup left but it probably wasn't good enough to serve this late at night). I will definitely try to arrange my next trip down to Cali so it'll be time to eat around Yreka.
