Ivanhoe Hotel, Restaurant & Saloon

I had dinner in the hotel about a month ago and it was very good.

My twin sister and hubbies dined for our birthday. We all had something different to eat. I have never tasted such elegant flavors in each and every dish. We usually go to Ivanhoe about 2 to 3 times a year except for Covid. We all have NEVER had a bad dinner there. Its always delicious.

My wife and I came here for a date and had a great dinner. My wife loves the ambiance and we both loved the food. The bread was really good and the marsala steak was very good. The meat was tender and we'll flavored. And I loved that the chocolate mousse was made from scratch. We'll be back again!

I received a recommendation for this restaurant while staying at an Airbnb in Ferndale and boy am I glad that I dropped in. I visited during COVID 19 and unfortunately was only able to pick up food to go. However, the woman who answered the phone when I rang was extremely friendly. I asked her if there was any vegan options on the menu and she offered the primavera pasta sans cheese and a few other ingredients. When I picked the food up, I could already tell that I was in for a treat as the smell of the pasta wafted in the air.

Back at the farm when I was finally able to open the cardboard box containing my food, I was privileged to indulge in one of the best pasta dishes I have ever had. Wonderfully seasoned vegetables, perfectly cooked pasta, and a wonderful sauce of garlic and olive oil all tied in perfectly to one mouth watering dish. This pasta made me happy... so happy that called in the following day to pick up another for dinner.

The woman who initially helped me remembered me and was ever so pleasant. I made sure to express my love of the restaurant and Ferndale in general. It's such a pleasant place to visit and everyone I encountered was very oh so welcoming.

The only thing I was disappointed with is that I was unable to dine indoors. The interior looks to have a lot of history/character and honestly, I could have used a drink. But, that's no fault of the restaurant.

Great atmosphere and service. We were there for mother's day, needless to say they were busy. The server was professional and did not rush us at all. The food was wonderful, not trendy at all. The bar is a great place for a drink and an appetizer.

Great service and food. Thursday special of Chicken Cacciatore over polenta was delicious. The spicy shrimp and calamari appetizers were a great addition to the meal. If you plan on going on a Thursday, I would highly recommend making reservations.

One of the top 3 places to eat in Humboldt. Prime rib, stroganoff, clam appetizer, and the calamari are all to die for. Even the soups are amazing. Very competent staff, very rare south of eureka. Been a gem in the county for years and I'm sure it will continue to be.

I went to visit my dad for Spring break and he absolutely HAD to take us to local legend, Ivanhoe. The service was amazing, the food was delicious and free ice cream for my birthday was sweet! I had the rib eye steak and it was perfectly medium rare. They subbed extra veggies in place of a potato or pasta when I asked for a lower carb option and since I skipped those carbs I was able to splurge on their fresh sourdough bread! 100% would go again.

I'm a big Triple D fan and when I found out that Guy started his restaurant career working here, I just had to come and see for myself! The pasta was great and the Calamari was even better. I haven't been back in a while, simply because it is 1 to 2 hours away from me, but I will surely make it back as soon as I can! Definitely a great place!! "I would probably eat the food off of a dirty tire!"

This Restaurant is Always Consistant with their awesome Friendly Service and Sprumpious Food. 5 plus Stars for sure. A Big Thank you goes out to the owners Dave and Barb Mooney. Job Well Done!

First time eating here after living in Humboldt 25 years. Excellent food and hospitality. Old Victorian inn is great ambiance for romantic dinner or group dinners. Will definitely go back.

This place was so much fun and the food was amazing! Stayed here a few years ago, toured the town and took a drive through the lost coast! Most amazing views, will never forget this trip!

SO and I ate here for dinner. Food was excellent (and reasonably priced). She had the char-broiled chix breast, w/veggies and baked potatoe. Chix breast was moist and juicy (medium sized serving). Veggies were wok-crunchy and baked potatoe was cooked perfectly (large). I had the calamari steak. Perfectly sauteed with light flour/breading coated. I also had the penne in vodka red sauce (excellent sauce). Minnestrone soup was good, as veggies were (still) crunchy and not mushy. Service was OK but not resplendent. Our server was very shy/conservative and was not overly social. Good bang for the buck here. Make rezzies, though. Not mandatory but strongly recommended, especially on weekends.

It's our new favorite restaurant! Great food, service friendly and very nice atmosphere. The bar always seems very busy, but we have never stayed at the hotel.

The absolute BEST!!! It is a must go to place for amazing Italian food, and their tri- tip is so delicious as well. And their decadent desserts just top it all off!! You will love! I promise.

Great food and great people. Little on the pricey side. If you don't want to set in the bar and have more then 2 people. You are going to want to make reservations for almost any night they are open.

CALL AHEAD. They are always super busy. The food is excellent and even though they are busy they never rush you. The staff is friendly and attentive. Make reservations and I can almost guarantee you will not be dissapointed.

Ivanhoe is our favorite place to eat a nice dinner. The chicken marsala is to die for. Everything is very tasty. Reservations are recommended especially on Friday and Saturday.

I only ate at the restaurant, but it was awesome food. Great service from the waiters and a very short walk from the inn we stayed at. Will be eating here both nights I come visit again. YUMMMMM!

We love this establishment. The food has wonderful flavor wheather you are ordering the steak or the pasta, plus the staff was phenomenal!
