Birches Restaurant

We chanced it without a reservation and had dinner at the bar. Excellent service! Comfortable bar stools!! And best of all, an amazing meal!!! Dinner included soup, salad, main entree and desert all at a reasonable price. I would highly recommend this place!

Here is what we liked about the Birches: Rob and Rachel were very friendly and welcoming. The thick, varnished wood slab tables really fit the decor. We enjoyed the fresh Lake Superior Almond Crusted lake trout and Scallops. The meal came with shrimp and roasted corn chowder soup, a small salad with house Parmesan garlic dressing. A South Shore Nut Brown Ale really topped off my meal. A small dish of Gelato was also included. But, there were two downsides: 1) The $9 up-charge for a flour less cake and 2) We didn't find out about the amount of the up-charge until we received our check. The dessert was very good, but it wasn't worth that much. I would have appreciated knowing what the up-charge was up-front. I certainly would have gone with the included ice cream dessert after paying a premium for the meal.

What a great place! Super friendly, warm and inviting. We had a flatbread and the special- stuffed shells. All good, but the Butternut Squash Ravioli was to die for! We will be back!!!

Everything we had here, from the choice steaks to the homemade deserts, was delicious. The owners, Rob and Rachel, did everything to make sure our dining experience was a memorable one, and it was just that.

Delicious food...great drink selection...the owners are extremely nice. I had the tortellini with Alfredo sauce, wild rice soup and the garden salad. All extremely delicious.

The food and drinks were amazing, which is a nice change for the area. The owners put thought and care into making it a wonderful experience overall. Highly recommend!

Been here many times. Food is outstanding! Beer selections are light. Service is slow but due to unexpected demand -make reservations to help them out.

Great food, the risotto with scallops was amazing. They were very helpful to accommodate gluten free dinner options.

The food was incredible. Its a bit on the pricey side but if you are looking for fine dining in a relaxed atmosphere up north, this is it!

This place is amazing! It would be right at home in the third ward in Milwaukee! The beef carpaccio is amazing and be sure to get the carrots on the side. Just go here! So good!!!

Delicious and fresh. A breath of fresh air in the Northwoods. A welcome change from the same old frozen, fried, canned, or boxed, food typical in this area.
