VI Restaurant

Our meal at the VI restaurant was a treat of our stay at this charming Inn. My wife had the chicken pot pie and commented that it might be the best pot pie she had ever eaten and she is a big fan of pot pies so that was saying something… It was rich and filling with a nice crispy puff pastry crust on top. She said that what made it special for her was that there was truffle oil on top that gave it extra richness and depth of flavor. A plus on her meal for sure. I had fish and chips. I am not normally a fish eater but I saw this dish served to another table and it looked great. I also found out they were using Petrale Sole which is a better fish than Halibut in my opinion and I had years as a commercial fisherman to form that opinion. I was not disappointed and loved my fish and chips made with such superior quality fish. The fries came out so hot and crispy as well as the fish. Even the side of cole slaw was excellent. Anytime I travel through this area I will make it a point to return to this great Inn and restaurant. What a treat this stop was for us.

We had a really good dinner, i changed my baked potato to all grilled veggies and it was delicious! My hubby had braised short ribs, bones just fell out! He said was the best he's had ever!

This is a must if you're in Ferndale. The food is delicious, service top notch and the atmosphere was spectacular.

We had a very pleasant dinner. We enjoyed the old Victorian decor, food was great as well as the service. It would be wise to call for reservations.

You can't beat the hospitality you'll find here at the Victorian Inn. Food is always good and the decor, historically suited for Ferndale.

Always a great experience! Its not super fast but that is absolutley fine - our server was very attentive and efficient - the main courses just took a while. But - not a problem. It's not the kind of place to rush through. Husband ordered baked brie and the filet mignon - both were delicious. I had the small French onion soup and the chicken and mushroom pot pie - both were truly amazing! We've eaten here a handful of times and its always good! (The hotel rooms are pretty amazing too!!)

The prime rib served on Sunday is one of the best Ive had. Medium rare was exactly medium rare. Locally sourced, very tender, excellent choice

Can't wait to go again! The service was great, the food and drinks were delicious and fresh twists on old favorites! The sauce for the steak was beyond delightful!

The beef rib was juicy and fell off the bone. The chowder was the best we have had in a long time. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive. He definitely went the extra mile letting us taste the wines before ordering. And there was a good list of wines including several interesting local ones. We has a lovely dinner and would go back again.

One of the best meals we've had in ages! Everything was delicious, from the extraordinary clam chowder to the entrees. Prices are a bit high, but worth the spend. Service was great, too. I told my husband that Gordon Ramsay would say, "I've got nothing to add here!"

I had breakfast here. Very charming old building in a beautiful setting. The food was good. However the best was the conversation I had with the lady who waited on me. She was so knowledgeable about the town and surrounding area and willing to share. I highly recommend.

Great staff, fast service and historical. Very cool and food was excellent.

The atmosphere is great and the friendly people amazing. I've had several meals here and I'm never disappointed. They carry a wonderful local wine Frog Alley Cellars but other than that the wine list is a little lacking. You'll love Frog Alley though.

During our stay at the Victorian Inn we treated ourselves to dinner at their restaurant the "VI" (the initials for the Victorian Inn, not the roman numeral 6 as I mistakenly thought!) It's an upscale but cozy restaurant that fits in nicely with the ambiance of the hotel. Our waitress Tawnya was super friendly and also very knowledgeable about their food and ingredients, which was especially appreciated by my wife who has gluten allergies. She had a wonderful blackened salmon and I enjoyed my seafood paella. It may have been a little pricey, but it was worth it to get away from the kids and enjoy a nice quiet romantic dinner.

Lovely upscale restaurant located in an eye-catching vintage Victorian hotel. We were seated by the owner, who also answered our questions after dinner and regaled us with a story or two about his racing mules. Food was phenomenal, especially enjoyed the Baked Brie en Croute starter. Drinks were very nice, excellent selection. Service was attentive and friendly without smothering. App, drink apiece, dinner, and dessert quickly climbed past a C note. #WorthIt

Portuguese paella, yum!

My husband and I drove 13 hours to celebrate our 30th anniversary in a town that took you back in time as you rode in closer. The Victorian Era. Our first meal in town took place here at Victorian Inn - just around the corner from our final destination, The Gingerbread Mansion. We were greeted by very friendly and accommodating staff members. The food was mouthwatering and excellent. If you're a fast-paced modern and contemporary type of person, the ambience would not be for you. But if you just want excellent service and exceptional food, the drive is worth it! And you MUST also stop by Humboldt Sweets - the cinnamon and pecan buns are to die for! There is nothing like these fresh, melt-in-your-mouth warm Danish. Guy from Food Network visited last December!

Excellent food, service and prices were very reasonable.

Our experience was pleasant. We enjoyed our stay at their sister hotel Redwood suites. We had complimentary breakfast at the VI Restaurant which was up to par delicious and fullfiing. I would come back definitely.
