Great Stay! Wonderful location on the lake. We had fun using the kayaks / canoe on the lake. Home made muffins are lovely. The kids enjoy playing ping pong in the basement. The beds/room were cosy. We hope to come back soon!

Got a beautiful room with a large sitting area, 2 person hot tub, and a respectable bathroom and bed room. A very comfortable place to stay on the water in norther vermont. They have kayaks for guests and cottages right on the water with their own private docks.

Absolutely wonderful place. Spotless and a definite must go back. The scenery was spectacular, they are pet friendly. I was just sorry that we couldn't dine at The Robert Frost Tavern as it was closed due to being short of help.

This is one of the most beautiful places not only in Vermont but on Earth. The lake is truly magical and a wonder to look at. I live the inn and the cabins. The hosts could not be nicer and truly make you feel welcome. We have been up five times in the last year and cannot wait to go back. The surrounding towns are great and the people in Barton and Lyndon are truly the best. I highly recommend staying at the the inn and if you can get a cabin. The whole place is totally worth the trip. You will not regret your stay.

When one thinks of a Vermont in on a lake in a remote and quiet area, this is what most envision as the ideal place to escape to.

Super comfortable in the Lupine room with bathrobes, double jacuzzi and king bed with plenty of space for the couch, desk, corner cupboard, coffee table and mini fridge. Fabulous view down the lake toward Tor and Pisgah. Sometimes the road noise out front was loud but there were never many vehicles going by. The cottages between the inn and the lake look cozy. Having a microwave for common use in the hall was helpful. A continental breakfast and keurig coffee makers were surprises. The inn restaurant is very good with fabulous burgers but is open only Thursday through Sunday. We enjoyed local hikes and went over to Brighton State Park too. Too much rain for using the provided kayaks and canoe but looked like fun. WiFi worked well. If you can get a reservation at Parsons Dinner House in Barton, go there. We also enjoyed the Gap Pub and Grill. Shopping was fun at the Willoughby Lake Store and at Willey's True Value Hardware in Greensboro. Staff were very friendly. We had plenty of privacy and enjoyed our stay tremendously.

My wife and I spent 2 nights in one of their lakeside cabins in the off season. The views were simply breathtaking, the beds were comfortable and the cabin was clean and well appointed with amenities. I would highly recommend the WilloughVale Inn and Cottages to anyone looking for a weekend getaway.

This is the second time my husband and I have stayed at this gem of an inn, and we just love it! Not only is it a picture-perfect setting and view, but the service has always been sincerely warm hospitality, going that extra step. The decor and furnishings of the rooms are charming and well thought out for guest comfort. The inn has many appreciated amenities, we will certainly be back again, and would highly recommend WilloughVale!

Fantastic view and convenience. Rooms are elegantly appointed and very well kept. Food is fabulous. They are dealing with a staff shortage right now but successfully working hard to provide good service.

Large comfortable room, beautiful views and setting, comfy bed. One of the best meals we've ever had... ANYWHERE ... perfectly cooked sole with lemon and capers, and delicious scallops with caramelized bacon, wonderful sides too!

I love this place. Been a couple of times. Easy to book and the staff is really nice. The cabins are soooo cute and cozy and provide everything you should need. The lake is quiet and beautiful... not much to do but canoe... and fish and hike... but that’s the spectacular beauty of it. The most relaxing vacation ever!!!

The cabins wildly exceeded our expectations! We joined another couple in late May and had a wonderful experience. There was plenty of space and the deck had an incredible view overlooking the lake.

Though the water was frigid, we did take advantage of the free canoes and the lawn chairs. We also enjoyed the evening fire with some Smores.

If you're a small family, two or three couples, or a group of fiends, these cabins are great.

Wonderful, relaxing experience. We reserved and Gazebo Room, and where pleasantly surprised to see that we where treated to not only a very large room, but the full gazebo corner of the deck to our selves. It was a very quiet, relaxing place with beautiful views and easy access to the included canoes and kayaks to enjoy the stunning lake.

Very cozy little inn right on the beautiful lake, and the restaurant was AMAZING!!!!! One of the most juicy steaks we've ever had, scallops were over the top. Great service as well. Thank you so much for a lovely get away.

Willoughvale In is nestled in the peaceful mountains of Vermont. The scenery is breathtaking, especially during the fall. The rooms are cozy, decorated in an old fashioned lake side resort style. The inn includes a restaurant that serves dinner and provides the free Continental breakfast. There's a spacious porch spanning the front of the inn with chairs to sit in to take in the awe inspiring scenery of the lake with the mountains in the distant background. There are two ramps into the building that were especially inviting to me as a wheelchair user. The inn has a wheelchair accessible room with a spacious bathroom. (As a side note, for wheelchair users, if you only visit to eat at the restaurant, the public bathroom is also wheelchair accessible.) The staff and the owner are all among the friendly and accommodating people I have ever had the pleasure dealing with in the hospitality industry. Bottom line, if you're in the area and looking for a place to rest, I highly recommend the Willoughvale Inn and Cottages.

I booked my stay here through Expedia and later realized that I had the dates wrong and I needed to change them. I called Expedia to go through their customer service and they were absolutely terrible. They promised me that one of their team members would get in touch with the hotel staff to correct my booking comma but when I called the hotel staff they had not received any phone calls. I explained my problem to the hotel staff and they were incredibly accommodating, courteous, and efficient and helping me adjust my reservation dates. I checked in later in the evening, after their normal front desk hours and found that they had everything all ready for me to go into my room. My room was very comfortable, clean, and well-lit. The Wi-Fi connection was great. In the morning the staff was very attentive during breakfast. I had a nice continental breakfast in their Tap Room which had a very very nice view of the lake out front. When I was all set to check out the staff were really helpful in giving me suggestions for things to do in the area and they even gave me a map of the area since my phone's GPS wasn't working. All in all I would wholeheartedly recommend this into anybody. The location is beautiful, the service is excellent comma and it makes for a very relaxing sray.

We spent our last three Thanksgivings here to see our family. The inn is warm, clean and comfortable. It’s a bit far off the beaten track, but the only place around worth mentioning if you want a visit this time of year. We look forwarding to staying in the future!

Wonderful experience, very comfortable ambiance and beautiful rooms. I stayed in the Lupine room and it was absolutely delightful with a HUGE spa bathtub and jets. If I ever decide to come up to Northern VT in the middle of nowhere again, this will be the place!
