Tim's American Cafe

Took my mom here for her birthday and she told me the salad's were big. The grilled chicken salad was huge and delicious. Definitely great portions! Small place that was probably one time a residence but ample parking across the street. Well worth the visit. I suggest it for those who are looking for something that isn't the usual fast food or chain restaurants.

First time ever eating here today...
Let's start off with talking about the massively sized portions and delicious food! I almost couldn't finish the salad, it was fantastic...so I did😅. We had a large party, there was very little wait for the food, it was impressive. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. We felt no pressure to leave, even though we took up so much space. I will come back here for sure! Don't underestimate this house on corner that that is a cafe.

The food was delicious and the servings were incredibly large....the turkey was like Thanksgiving at its best...the fries were like fair fries, so wonderful... can't recommend enough...a hidden gem in Altoona!!!

Stopped after my mom had a procedure done at the hospital. Hit the tail end of lunch rush, so we had to wait just a bit. Food was well worth the wait! Delicious, large portion sizes, excellent value. Anytime we venture to Altoona, we will be stopping at Tim's!

The food was great, along with the great staff. The only complaint is that the restaurant is on the small side. Overall a great place to go.

This is one of my favorite places. My favorite is the steak salads, but I do enjoy their daily specials also....

We had not been here in years because of the pandemic... Finally had a chance to go back and eat in person, and we were not disappointed!

A great place to go, portions are huge and definitely get your money's worth. My classmates ate here a lot during college. I recommend their fries and chicken tenders.

Never disappointed!! If you have never tried their food the wings and salads are famously good can't go wrong there. My personal favorite is the sirloin medallion dinner. Best steak in Altoona always cooked perfectly and a very generous portion!!

A lot of portions. Reasonable price. Tasty. The way this place looks is a bit old but it is what I think makes here more attractive.

If you want to know where to eat, ask a nurse. I must’ve watched at least 3 different people wearing scrubs carry out large orders of food. I thought maybe it was a fluke being only the second time I’ve eaten here but both times the size and quality were outstanding! Chicken salad was delicious and HUGE and the bacon Sheesley burger was massive. 10 oz patty with at least 6 pieces of bacon. Fresh and hot. Glad I didn’t get a side of fries. Couldn’t finish the chips that it came with. Friendly fast service. Would highly recommend!

Some of the best food from a restaurant! Only downside is a little cramped inside if eating their!

We love Tim's. If you want good bar food at reasonable price and huge portions this is your place. The steak subs are the best. If you like spicy add the Italian house made peppers. But that's not all. They have a rotating chalkboard of dinner selections. Usually a steak a fish a pasta and a couple of double up. Like they may have a hadock and crab cakes. Ever thing is good. Then finish with a piece of cake or pie. My wife says the coconut cream is to die for

Hands down the best wings you’ll ever eat. I’ve travelled all over and I am always let down when I order wings. Not at Tim’s. The wings are the whole reason to go to This place. Get a dozen with the sauce baked in. My mouth is watering just thinking about them.

Under new management. Great home-cooked meals. Ample portions. And a small very friendly staff.

The burger was DELICIOUS! The beef tasted fresh. The side of fries order was Huge. You won't leave hungry! Highly recommend!

I just had a Cajun Chicken salad here through a recommendation from a friend. I had never even heard of this place before and I’ve been missing out! Hands down the BEST salad I have ever had. The chicken was grilled and cooked to perfection! No gummy, half raw chicken. It literally fell apart with a plastic fork.. sooo tasty! And their ranch dressing is so good too! I’m really picky about salads but they have exceeded my expectations! I’ll def be ordering from this place more!
