Very nice park, did the 3mile loop around the lake, nice easy trail, great scenery.

A great place with a little bit of everything for everyone. Great campgrounds, great lake for fisherman, beachgoers and people who want to spend time on a boat on the lake. Trails that are easy to navigate and in good condition. Plenty of wildlife and great locales. Plenty of amenities like bathrooms and fountains at parking lots and picnic pavilions. Nothing wrong at shawnee.

This park is regularly underrated! It offers many and varied, well-maintained trails for most ability levels. Views are spectacular. Bathrooms are always clean. A lot of care and pride in the maintenance of this State Park treasure.

This is an awesome lake for learning to fish or for experienced fishermen. There’s also rentals for paddle boats and kayaks as well as a snack stand. The trail that runs around the lake offers expansive views of rolling hills, wildlife and water views. We had a blast here! I wanted to come back again and again. Many areas to have a picnic with clean restrooms. I enjoyed walking my pup around the lake as well!

Such a great local place to enjoy. Playgrounds for kids. Restrooms & changing areas. Nice public facilities. Walking areas to beach are great. Beach is fenced in. Concreted area for ♿ for direct access to wheel straight into water at the beach. Boating - dock available, canoe, paddle boats, kayaks, pontoon. Walking trails available. Enjoy a nice calm day at or near beach.

This is the second time I have walked around the lake. The trail is kept very clean. There are no debris anywhere. There are bathrooms along the trail and they are very clean. You actually have a real toilet to use. And I felt very safe because there are park rangers driving around. All in all, I highly recommend.

Lovely park! The trail around the lake is in lovely condition. Perfect length for folks coming out of hibernation 😄 I will be back to explore some of the other trails to extend mileage.

Visited Shawnee State Park this past weekend for Memorial Day. What a beautiful park. Most sites are very spacious. ( Unless you have bad neighbors, who set up camp right against you. But we won't 🤫mention them.)As Im sure that won't happen again. Bathouses are so nice, and cleaned every morning. The whole park is super clean. No trash anywhere that we saw.
Got to walk the Shoreline trail, and rest in our lounge chairs and hammocks. Enjoyed burgers , hot dogs and a blast from the past... jiffy pop popcorn over the fire. If your never made Funnel cakes or clams on a camp stove, your missing out.
The park rangers were super attentive. But they have a real Gem of a park friend. GINGER! What a sweet lady. While visiting with Ginger, we had the pleasure of our own little parade of glow stick figure ppl go by, who were so happy to pose for a picture.

Shawnee has a nice mix of the things you'd want in a state park.
The asymmetrical lake allows for 3 different boat launch areas and extensive shoreline to explore. There's also a boat rental here if you impulsively decide to get on the water.
The lake is stocked with warm water fish and there's an ADA accessible fishing pier in the Diehl area.
The swimming beach is nice, wide and attractive.
There's lots of scattered picnic tables and several pavilions. I felt pavilion no. 7 was private and nice with good parking and bathrooms (see picture).
There are 9 trails to hike, a disc golf field and 7.5 miles of bicycling roads.
Stay overnight at one of the 190 campsites or rent a cabin or yurt.
The Lakeside Lodge is more of a vacation home experience.
There's also 2 educational program amphitheaters see check the park schedule for programs.
Large areas are open to hunting in hunting season.
Come back in the winter for snowmobiling, mostly in the north and east areas of the park. Other winter activities include cross country skiing, sledding, tobogganing, ice fishing and ice skating.

Shawnee is beautiful state park located slightly west of Bedford, PA just off US Route 30. The park offers a very nice lake with a sandy beach swimming area, picnic pavilions, playgrounds, bathroom facilities, and there's an RV campground on the southwest edge of the park. I personally find it's a great place to relax. Maybe you will too!

Beautiful and well-kept state park! Enjoyed a small family gathering here over the weekend, and it was a beautiful place to meet! Lots of picnic tables and barbecue grills. Bathrooms on-site were open and clean. There is a lovely, easy 3-mile loop around the lake with some nice views. There is a sandy beach for swimming during warmer times of the year, and a small boat launch for people who like to boat and fish. Also, for the disc golf lover, there is a short and easy 9-hole course that is fun with some nice views and slight elevation changes starting at picnic area access 2. Hole 9 ends right around the start of hole 1, so it would be easy to do two rounds to equal a full 18 if you wanted. Course is very easy with short drives... definitely good for beginners. Overall great park.

Take a walk or ride your bike through this beautiful park. Lake Shore trail is a trail anyone can do. Only a couple inclines and the scenery is amazing. Places to stop and fish if you chose. If walking isn't your thing. You can do some fishing on a boat, kayak around, or just lay on the beach. Make a day of it.

Another gem in the Pennsylvania State Parks. Lovely camp spot, great trails. The Lake Shore trail was beautiful and sunset over the lake memorable. Take advantage of the many historical locations, the covered bridges, gravity hill and Bedford Village. Minutes from Flight 93

Very nice camping in loop A. Spot #74 is spacious, level and has electricity (30 Amp). The lakes are small, but nice, and there's a nice easy 3 mile trail around one. The bathhouses were clean, though I largely avoided them due to social distancing.

My only complaint was there were at times a strong manure odor - I assumed there must be a pig farm nearby and when the wind was right the odor wafted through. The sound of I76 was faint in loop A, but the full hookup sites are much closer to the highway and the sound was more noticeable, but not that bad in my opinion.

We have enjoyed the park at both the lake and the campground. Some of the things we like is:
- 3 mile bike, hike gravel trail around the lake
- Paddling on the lake
- Camping at the campground
- Spending time at a lakeshore picnic area
- Throwing discs on the disc course
The park does well at bringing people into the area to support the local economy. Stop at Coach Ed's Bait Shop for a great selection of fishing supplies. The park folks do a great job of keeping the park cleaned up, mowed and providing clean restrooms.

Such a wonderful state park! A great loop around the lake for jogging and hiking. You can rent kayak or canoes or bring your own. Beautiful mountains and a wonderful damn.

Definitely a great place to spend a weekend afternoon :)

This has been an amazing camping experience. The facilities are extremely clean which is definitely something I look for. We camped from Wed to Sunday and we are looking for the next available weekend. First to here but definitely not out last. Highly recommend coming here. All the sites in our loop are nice and flat and required minimal leveling.

Nice campground and the lake was awesome for kayaking. Frequent trips through the campground by Park Rangers. The sites are large and most have trees for some shade. Sites don't have water but there are drinking water hydrants placed throughout the campground.

Very well maintained and spacious. Absolutely loved the well kept trail around the lake!

Always great to be able to visit a childhood memory. Although there have been many changes, it was still a great visit. I even got to show my own daughter some of the places that those memories were made.
