Great holiday attraction to take the kids or to just enjoy as a couple and an added bonus it benefits local charities. It opens at 6pm we arrived early and there was a wait, but it's in the comfort of your vehicle.

This park deserves love! It's such a classic place. Both of the woodies at Lakemont are better than the Wild Mouse up the road at Delgrosso's. However, Delgrosso's does win two ways, the fact they still have their water park. And secondly their park feels complete and well maintained. It's sad that Leap the Dips and especially Skyliner are in such disrepair. Skyliner deserves love, it's got some fun drops and even some fun laterals. Leap the Dips is great towards the back of the train, that airtime is genuinely awesome.

But back to the park.

The grass is well mowed, the miniature golf course looks decent but maybe needs some more shade. And there's a lot of open fields where other rides once operated.

To all locals and even management, mostly locals though. I highly recommend supporting this gem of a park. From the sheer lack of business I saw both times I visited the park, I am certain the locals are giving it no support. You don't know what you've got til it's gone!

Now hear me out...Yea, the running coaster aka skyliner looks like a sure one way ticket to the next life. BUT She held together just fine and I feel the lack of paint added to the thrill of the old wooden coaster.
Sadly, leap the dips was down and the water park as well...what looks like has been for awhile.
You can still head out on the lake with the paddle boats, the train still going.
To top it off go carts and mini golf, 2 different courses of 18 holes .
I'll gladly come again and snag up the all day pass well worth the $20.

Lights On The Lake

The kids loved all the lights. There were a lot of moving lights. We didn't get to go in the train exhibit or gift store because we went to the wrong area, and when we did find it , we weren't sure where to park but what we did see was very nice. About a 45 minute wait in line to get into the lights but it's worth it. Every time we go past Lakemont around Christmas there's hundreds of cars waiting in line to get in. That should tell you it's a great family activity. Plus, it's a great thing to do with family for Christmas if your the type of person that still drives your kids around your home town to see all the lights.

Pay as you go old time amusement park that has the oldest roller coaster. You pay only $3 to ride. Right beside the Altoona Curve baseball field. No admission fee. Bring in your own picnic and play putt putt golf with your family and friends.

We visited here last year but were unable to ride Leap the Dips because it was closed, so we returned to try again. When we arrived, the Skyliner was closed but Leap the Dips was running. The person at the ticket booth gave us the souvenir tickets which the ride attendant didn't even ask for. We rode in the back which was rougher than expected. I have read that the front seat is a bit more of a comfortable ride which we'll have to try next time. The park is clean and maintained, and there were many families with young ones at the park when we were there.

All of my other pictures were blurry. However, this place is phenomenal! It's like the lights never end, and to be honest, I felt like a kid again. They have so many incredible light displays and it's only $15 per vehicle. Not to mention the grinch was walking around while we were in line. I will definitely be returning every season!

Hometown favorite for Christmas lights. Since moving to Maryland 6 years ago we plan a trip back to Altoona every year just to see lights on the lake. Tradition since they started with the holiday display

Wow! The lights on the lake continue to keep getting better and better each year. This is a wonderful display. We travel an hour an a half each year to come see this display and it always amazes. Such a wonderful Christmas tradition and really gets you in the holiday mood! Thanks for another great time!

Great place to relax with the family. Entry is free. Limited rides, mini golf, batting cages for a fee, but free to play basketball on awesome courts(when open) and sand volleyball.

Good place to watch fireworks!

Visited here to ride the world’s oldest roller coaster. Sitting in the front was delightful. Sitting in the back was a little rough, but still very fun, just hold on tight! The two employees we encountered were friendly and happy.

Made the pilgrimage here from Ohio to ride the world’s oldest operating coaster Leap-The-Dips, but unfortunately it was closed. It was ok though because we still had a relaxing time at the park enjoying the train ride, mini golf, and their other coaster Skyliner.

Skyliner needs some TLC, but was still a fun ride in a great location.

Unfortunately the gift shop closed early and we weren’t able to pick up and souvenirs, but we will be back someday to get that ride on Leap-The-Dips!

Great venue for the prom! Staff was so friendly and accommodating. Students and guests had a great time. I even rode the famous Skyliner. Give this place your business when you can. Thank you for a good time, safe and clean! Lots of lasting memories were made tonight.

Came here to see the holiday lights and was pleasantly surprised by the very large display they put together! Drive 2 hours and we’ll worth the trip! Definitely going to make it a yearly tradition. Keep up the fabulously creative holiday celebration spectacular.

The free admission (!), reimagined Lakemont Park is open! The world's oldest roller coaster (1902)--Leap The Dips--is an amazing ride! You ride it exactly as you would have in 1902! Your under $20 pay-one-price ticket includes it, the Skyliner wooden coaster (also fun!), go-karts, mini golf, and more! The best deal in PA!

This is more of a community park than amusement park. Many of the offerings are offered at most community parks such as a playground, basketball court, volleyball court, and batting cages. Skyliner is a decent coaster but a little rough. The antique cars are horrible. The train experiences massive down time the engine to cool.I don't understand why they need more than one miniature golf course, feels like that space could be used for something else. Leap The Dips of course is the main reason to go. It's unlike anything I've ever ridden. Lights on The Lake ranks up there with other drive throughs but the line can be long. I like the little train display in the building.

My daughter and I visited for Holiday Lights on the Lake- it was beautiful! We also enjoyed shopping at the Christmas market outside and visiting the gift shop!

Very nice park! They offer miniature golf, and a variety of amusement rides. Including 2 of the oldest roller coasters in existence! It's very clean & reasonably priced! Stop by if you're in the area!
