Very nice and well kept trail. Mostly first since it was once a railroad line. For the most part of not all of it you follow the creek and cross over it 7 times I believe. It's all crushed limestone so it's easy walking and easy on your dogs paws. Plenty of benches to sit and rest on. There are mile markers telling you how far to Butler or Freeport you are. There are bike repair stations along the trail at some of the trail heads to fix your bike if needed.

One of the Best 20 mile Rails to Trails local to Pittsburgh area. Head north or south Start in Cabot and ride south to Freeport crushed gravel, restrooms, pack your snacks & drinks if you have time ride off the trail into Freeport for a look around neat town/Reminds me of Mayberry !!!

Nice and flat trail. We did only a half of it, but really enjoyed the ride.
And the coffee shop in the middle of the trail is awesome.

I really enjoyed the coolness within the forest and the creek was a knock out. Beautiful get away from the city

One of the nicer sections of the trail. Head south towards Freeport. IMO the nicest section of the trail is between Monroe road and Freeport. It is beautiful as it winds along Buffalo creek. Lots of Wildlife/birds. I have seen an eagle flying along the creek there.

It's just an awesome Trail. Nothing fancy, just straight with a slight grade. Its clearly marked and did I mention that I ran 14 miles on it today? Which is a big deal for me.
