Beautiful place. Site 186 is in the back of the campground and provides nice privacy. The neighboring sites are reasonably spaced and the extra parking area is close if you're bringing multiple vehicles. There is no prepared tent pad but the space is flat and spacious. Restrooms are also nearby and clean. Firewood was reasonably priced and well stocked. Our stay was cut short by some very heavy rain. Site 186 will flood with 3+ inches of water near the picnic table and fire pit. But other than that, it is a very nice place to stay.

My girlfriend and I started camping 3 years ago, and having visited Cook Forrest as a kid, I figured it would be a good place to start. We go as much as we possibly can and lobe it here every time. It is our home away from home. We have met new friends and have brought existing friends as well. Family comes to visit even if they don't stay the night just because it's a beautiful place to be. I can not recommend this place enough! Great for tent camping to full hook up. Pick your poison and kick your feet back by the fire.

My mom used to take me and my brother here, now I take my daughters. The State Park is beautiful. The camp site is beautiful as well. It's well maintained, grass is cut every time I go. It's directly across the road from Seneca Point. The outhouses, well there outhouses. The shower and bathroom areas, (multiple) are decent. They get a lot of usage. I would recommend wearing flip flops in them, never bare foot. The state park police have always been friendly to me. If I'm lucky I'll make it back every year until I'm gone. Plenty of water activities and trails forever. I love camping here.

I hadn't been to Cook Forest State Park I about 50 years. The park is still as awe inspiring as it was then. The Ridge campground was nice and clean, the park service personnel were present everyday. Lots of hiking, nature watching and beautiful scenery. The flags at all the campsites for the holiday was a nice touch.

This is maybe my favorite state campgrounds to visit. It's very well laid out, and well maintained. I like that they have everything from primitive, to full hookups camp sites available. They have pet areas and no pet areas available. My experience is that most campers in state campgrounds are very friendly. My wife and I enjoy walking around the grounds. Their bathhouses are accessable from anywhere in the park. They're definitely dated, but still well built to suit your needs.

This is a beautiful campground tucked in amongst the old growth forest. It offers easy access to everything Cook Forest; hiking trails, fishing, nearby Clarion, PA, etc... Everything was clean and well maintained including our campsite and the bathrooms. If you have kids, check out the childrens fishing pond down the hill. You can also hike to the Fire Tower from the campground, which was one of our favorite stops in Cook Forest. Would definitely recommend Ridge Camp at Cook Forest.

I was here for 4 nights and had a great experience. I was on site 145 which had 50amp electric, close community water spigot and was shaded. The signage could be better for directions to find your site, but it’s manageable. Didn’t use the bath house, though they appeared clean and were cleaned daily by staff. Coin laundry available as well.

Terrific campground for folks in RVs, campers, tents, with or without kids, or dogs. Some nice shaded sites. Clean restrooms. Good wood for campfires on site. Close to the river for water sports. Quiet at night and good for stargazing or watching fireflies.

I adore this place! I've been camping here for over 20 years. There are electric sites and more primitive places to stay as well. There are bathrooms with flushing toilets and showers. They have a playground and a ballfield. Very near lots of activities both free and not free.

Had a great time here. Close to attractions, actually had some phone service there which is hard to come by in that area. Nice quiet place. Lots of pet friendly sites and huge play area. Will definitely be returning.

We were visiting friends and it is a very nice campground. The bathhouse was heated and although it was October it was nice and warm. Nice facility.

Hot showers, wooded and flat sites, close to the river (1 mile), camp hosts on site, no check in/out process...just reserve and go! Firewood for sale on site.

Staff and host are friendly. Bathrooms clean with great water pressure in showers. It rained most of the time we were here but still had a great weekend. Wood on site to purchase for fires. Perfect for a little getaway.

Cook's forest is a beautiful retreat close to pittsburgh, erie and State College . The Campground is reasonably priced with secluded wooden sites close to hiking trails, dog friendly areas as well. There are kayak and bike rentals near by.

Great place for a weekend away. Easy access for small cars and ample parking for extra vehicles. Decently well kept bathrooms and showers. Hot water was welcomed for showering and easing clothes for longer stays. Everyone was respectful of camping supplies and there was no litter to be found. The park rangers made frequent rounds and were easy to find to answer any questions. Very easy for first time campers.

Very clean we'll maintained campground. Pine forest is amazing. All the old growth adds to the charm. Get weekend spot. We did not kayak this time but many people do from the area.

I've been coming to ridge camp since I was a little girl with my parents and my brothers. Now I come with them and our families and children as well! It's a great campground with a lot of great outdoor activities to do surronding it. I will always love coming here and enjoying time with my family. I do wish they could get funding to update the bathrooms but I'm sure that's out of their hands and bathrooms/shower room aren't bad they just haven't changed much in 30 years lol.
