Foot of the Mountain Restaurant

This place checks all the boxes, right off the road, easy access parking. The staff here is super nice & friendly, it's literally at the base of the mountain, I'd imagine it's absolutely gorgeous here during the spring, it's so pretty in the winter time.
I came for the breakfast and it was awesome, if you like scrapple I highly recommend it.
Everything is reasonably priced here and the quality of the food is awesome

Driving back from Pittsburgh, we decided to find a place with some mountain charm and Foot of the Mountain fit the bill and more. Great salads, Roast Beef and gravy, turkey gravy, fries and more. Home made corn fritters were awesome. I had the wings and if you follow me at all you know I try wings EVERYWHERE I go.
These wings on the menu were priced at about $1 a wing which to my Baltimore city wallet was suspect. I mean value like that normally means pre-breaded, pre-cooked wings.
NOT the case here. Plump. Jucy. Crispy. Large. Everything I look for in wings and great price too.
A few additional personal touches. The server was quick to check with the kitchen on our questions and did not just B.S. us on things. But something very rare, the cook came out to see how we liked the wings, which they just recently changed where they get them from. All very personal touch feeling.
We took about an extra 30 minutes out of our way and it was more than worth it. We will be back.

Great home-style food. Excellent service. I had the daily special turkey dinner. The white and dark meat were tender and flavorful exactly like home-made.

Another great find along the backroads of Pennsylvania. Nothing fancy but good quality food and a super nice waitress. The atmosphere is what you would expect. Perfect!
Stop and eat some lunch while you enjoy watching the birds out the large windows.

well! what a pleasant, home town, home made comfortable easy place! sit by the windows so you can look at the birds and squirls: nature TV.

out food was really good. honey dipped chicken, ruben (could have more stuff in it), delicious onion rings, and....corn fritters (with....corn)!

the people behind us got cheese cake (yum!).

We were looking for a place to eat on our trip to Tennessee. This was perfect for lunch. Food was great and the service was very good. My drink was never empty, the waitress warned me of the heat in the me wrap I ordered, and the speed of the food was wonderful. Highly recommend this little restaurant at the foot of the mountain.

Just tried this restaurant and got exactly what I wanted. Perfectly cooked breaded mushrooms that I have been craving from a restaurant for a very long time. The owner, Candy, is such a sweetheart. I ordered a starter of breaded mushrooms with a Reuben meal and it was delicious. Good home cooking. If you want good old-fashioned dishes, this is the place to be. :)

So thankful this icon is alive and well again. The owners are amazing and their staff is efficient and friendly! Highly recommend!
And the cinnamon buns are so yummy!!!!

Warm owners keeping a long established restaurant open. Working hard to serve a community. Food was great. Wife enjoyed Crab Cake sandwich, enjoyed. Great desserts and good coffee.

What a gem of a find. The food was absolutely amazing. Husband had the honey dipt chicken with coleslaw and fritters and I had sweet and sour chicken breast, fries and fritters. We were so full and couldn't stop eating still! The food begs to be eaten! Our waitress was amazing too. The atmosphere is calm and clean too. We will definitely be back!

Delicious food! Wonderful family owned and run restaurant that's been here since before I was born, I believe! Very friendly courteous staff. A nice variety to choose from. I absolutely love their breakfast! I rarely eat out but when I do, I try to eat breakfast out once in awhile and I always go to The Foot!

Surprisingly nice place with good food. Much better then you wood expect when just looking to have a bite after a few hours of driving. A little slow, a little pricier, however - friendly, clean, an tasteful. Will definitely stop by if happen to be in the area again.
We had, prime rib (Saturday special, they do not have it for the other days), chicken liver, broiled shrimps, flounder, crab cake, onion rings and cheesecake, variety of sides. Crab cake was not impressive (not a big fan of those at all, sorry), onion rings OK, the rest was good. Cheesecake was amazing.

My family and I stopped here on the way home from getting a Christmas tree and we're so glad we did. The restaurant is small and cozy and the menu, while probably limited due to covid, was well varied. The portions are generous and the prices are fantastic. My son Talon, the pickiest eater of our 6 kids, declared this to be his favorite restaurant. We plan on coming back here regularly.

This was my first visit. What a cozy little restaurant! The breakfast was.... well... the bacon cooked to perfection, the once over easy eggs were exactly that, the hash brown shredded potatoes were again lightly browned and delicious. Topped with a muffin with jelly and a glass of OJ... the meal could not have been done any better! Our experienced waitress was kind and attentive and we didn't want for anything on her watch! A great experience and I will definitely return for another meal! Lots of great menu items to expand into! Thank you to the whole FOTM staff! Kudos!

A restaurant in a beautiful setting at the foot of a mountain. The food was all made from scratch except for the mashed potatoes. But, the dinner rolls were amazing and the corn fritters out of this world! Hubby said his breakfast was cooked exactly how he asked for it including a sausage patty also made from scratch. It was a nice ride, we will visit there again. And, our waitress was super nice too!

Everything we got was very good. We got it for takeout and instead of putting the gravy on top of the open roast beef sandwich. They put it in a cup so we could put it on at home!! This way the sandwich was not over soggy..great place we will be eating there again for sure..
