Boswell's Pipes & Cigars

I'm pretty new to the world of Cigars, being introduced by a buddy of mine near Mt Morris PA.

I was looking for a shop more local to me and Boswell's was highly recommended by friends in the area.

The staff was helpful and courteous, provided my with a ton of information, and I walked out the door with a good selection of reasonably priced cigars.

My friend from Mt Morris is looking forward to visiting Boswell's, with me, in the future.

Massive assortment of pipe tobaccos, both their own blends and plenty of others. I stopped buying tobacco online once I learned about Boswell’s, they carry more than I could need. Also, I highly recommend Boswell’s pipes. They smoke great!

My favorite thing about the shop is the lounge upstairs.

Went in looking for 2 specific cigars and walked out with 9. Super knowledgeable and friendly staff. If you're looking for that hard to find cigar they will have it! Their store blend Maduro is phenomenal. Will be a regular at this shop. 10/10

Of course this is the best place for purchasing JM Boswell pipes and tobacco. There are some pipes made by Mr Boswell and some meerschaum and estate pipes. They have all of the Boswell tinned tobacco in bulk jars so you can get a sense of the fragrance of the tobacco before buying a tin, or just buy an ounce to try out. There are other brands of tobacco also. There is a smoking lounge upstairs, cigar humidor room, and everything else you would expect from a traditional Tobacconist. Well worth a visit.

Boswell's is a gem amongst all the local businesses in Chambersburg. It's been here for over forty years and is still family owned and operated. Boswell's is well-known in the pipe tobacco and cigars community. It's known for its unique tobacco blends and handcrafted pipes. I have a few of their pipes and I've had them for many years now - made to last and timeless. My favorite tobacco blends of theirs are Dan's blend, Cherry Smash, and Pomegranate Holiday. Everyone who works here is very knowledgeable and helpful. Check them out if you have an interest in pipe tobacco or fine cigars. Make a trip if you're not from the area or order from their website.

Absolutely an amazing place, phenomenal tobacco's to try, outstanding handmade pipe selection, well-stocked walk-in humidor, and a comfortable and inviting smoke lounge.

This place is incredible. The owner and the staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The handmade tobacco pipes are high quality and VERY reasonable. The house pipe tobacco blends are wonderful. They have a great selection of tinned pipe tobaccos and a big walk in humidor for cigars. To top it all off there's a large and very well laid out lounge upstairs to relax and smoke in. I stopped by on a road trip. I wish I lived closer.

Nice selection of custom pipes and tobacco blends. They have a large multi room smoking lounge available. Second time I've stopped by and have had a wonderful experience both times.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, one of the best lounges around. And I’ve been to many across the states. If it had a full bar this would be epic.

My first live visit here. I've bought a few things online from them. The live customer service is awesome. Really enjoyed the visit. Definitely looking forward to another time.

This place has everything you need and the people are experienced and very nice.

Phenomenal service!! As a female, I have walked into similar places and did not feel comfortable with the way I was spoken to. From the moment I walked in I was giving exceptional customer service and unlike other places wound up leaving with a few cigars for my son!

Just like everyone else, my experiences here have been so far above and beyond, from the high level, old world, small town American customer service to the extremely high quality of their products...they've made a customer for life out of me.

Luckily, I can drive here in a little over an hour, which I will gladly do instead of ordering online just for the pleasant conversation and service!

My first trip up, I tried a sampler of 12 different tobaccos (as part of an online pipe club), which Archie kindly helped me with.

I loved these tobaccos so much, I wanted to try 12 more! Only one was a bit too sweet for me but again, the tobacco was still of the highest quality. Just my individual taste!

This latest trip, I was talking with Lee about pipes and shared my experience with some occasional hot/tongue biting experiences among my last tobacco sample purchase. Maybe user error?

I said I've found 9mm filtered pipes are best for me, since I smoke pretty wet and it also cuts this nagging heat I sometimes got from the smoke. Lee listened, nodded, and I guess could tell I wasn't complete newbie as he said I probably just need to use better pipes.

Come on... I mean, I know the Boswell pipes have as high a reputation as the tobaccos online and all but, really? Just buy a Boswell pipe and it should smoke better?

Well, I took a leap of faith and wound up leaving with two Boswell pipes and voila... Pipe smoking nirvana. I was actually chuckling to myself as I smoked a large bowl of Rum River (an aromatic blend I'd guessed would be a hotter burning tobacco) on the long drive home. The pipe never got hot to the touch, like nearly all the other new pipes I'd tried, and the smoke was just perfect all the way to the bottom of the bowl. Never lost its flavor, never got hot enough to cause tongue bite...just blissful.

Boy... Lee was right!! I'm now a convert to both Boswell's great tobacco blends AND their fine pipes.

The pipes are not cheap by any stretch but they are VERY high quality, handmade (locally, at that) and they are just PERFECT smokers in every way.

Only problem now is that I risk going losing hundreds of dollars replacing most of my current pipes with Boswell pipes!

I really hope that Boswell carries on and prospers for the rest of our lives and beyond.

The tobacco is just as special as their pipes; Boswell are truly artisan tobacconists and pipe makers. Cheers to the Chambersburg crew! Next stop... Alexandria!

Stopped here during travel; the store exterior and signage caught my eye. Legit one of the finest tobacco shops I've been in. Great selection of pipes and cigars.

Always a great experience here. Staff is knowledgeable and will answer any questions you have. Great variety of cigars, pipes and tobacco.

Have never made the drive up there to visit in person but the online ordering is fantastic! They get your order out fast and to you within a couple of days. The tobacco is some of the finest I've found and is so fresh and full of flavor, they are my only tobacco shop now for my pipe smoking plus i had them custom make a pipe for me out of lava rock for a great price! Give them a try, their aromatics are spectacular!

Great shop. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and so were the regular customers we met. Lots of great proprietary blends, and the humidor was well stocked. Big selection of cutters, lighters, humidors, and pipe accessories. Chambersburg is lucky to have this shop.

I love this place! Keep in mind that I live in Columbus, Ohio. I have a tobacconist near me, and I've visited it. There is a focus on vases with a mouthpiece--I can't imagine what they are for.
My friends in Chambersburg introduced me to Boswell's, and what a treat! The service is incredible. The staff are very knowledgeable, and what they don't know they tell you.
The price range is quite wide, so you can jump in wherever you wish.
There is a smoking loft. I'm not sure if it was open at the time, but I liked the idea...trying a cigar there and if you liked it, purchase more to go.

One of the best cigar shops I have ever been to. Very good and friendly customer service. I wish I was a pipe smoker because they had some beautiful pipes.
