Caplinger Woods

It is a wonderful place to float. We had a great time. Staff were amazing! We swam in the river most of the way and pulled our floats. The water just felt too good to get out. I definitely suggest visiting here if you haven't yet.

We come every year,the people are great and reachable when I've need to contact them. The cabins are clean when we arrive. Maybe another shower house with the expansion and business!? See you father's day weekend!

This little hidden gem is a great place to visit! This was our first time visiting Caplinger Woods & I wish we knew about this place sooner because we will definitely be back soon! The shower house/restrooms were extremely clean & well kept. The grounds were nice & shaded. The store at the top of the hill was very clean, well stocked with quality products at a very affordable price! I expected everything to be marked up for convenience but surprisingly it wasn't at all. The whole experience was 10/10 EXCEPT for the pick-up from the river/the bus ride back to the camp ground. Our bus driver was very grumpy and rude to us. The rest of the staff was VERY polite and helpful but unfortunately, the woman driving the bus was far from that. Aside from that minor issue, I highly recommend Caplinger Woods for your next camping and/or floating experience!

We had a huge wedding party float on Friday. They took care of everyone and got everyone out on the water even though they were temporarily down a float. The river itself was easily manageable, scenic, and secluded. Ginger, the camp dog, was also an adorable addition to the friendly staff.

This place is very pretty. All the campsites are completely shaded and you can see the river from all of them. The place is very clean and well kept. The owners are super nice and helpful. Had a great time. My only complaint is that when we stayed there, a massive group stayed in the primitive camping area and were literally up ALL night, driving around,and blaring music for multiple nights in a row. It didn't bother my husband and I cause we were in our RV with our sound machine. But some of the people in our party were in tents and were kept up all night. If I could make one recommendation to the owners, it would be that they enforce their quiet hours at least to some extent. But even with that, still a great time and a gorgeous place to go. Right by the Caplinger Mill damn and bridge. Makes a fun and quick hike.

We rented a canoe at Caplinger Woods over the weekend and had an incredible experience. The staff was friendly and went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. The canoe itself was comfortable and clean - it looked brand new. Their store was small, but don't let that deceive you - they can outfit anyone with everything needed to fish, canoe, float, or camp. They also sell firewood, food, and beer. We were so happy with the crew and our canoe trip down the river! We will definitely return!

Not only is this an awesome place to camp with It's beautiful cabins and electricity hook up campsites Also being right there next to the water Makes it where you never want to go home! The owners are awesome so if you get a chance to stop in the store and just visit with them you definitely should. It's very conveniently priced even the store items with super surprised with all their prices so if you're looking for an area that you can go have a great time with your family you're family Canoe rentals kayak rentals I was camping fishing this is definitely the place to go to!

Beautiful campground that is well taken care of.

The July 4 fireworks were some of the best I have ever seen last night on July 3rd. So much fun!! At times we kept thinking it was the finale over and over that’s how many explosions at the same time so exciting. The crowd was exciting too they kept cheering them on which just made everything so much fun. Friendly people all very Patriotic and proud to be an American!
Finishing the next morning was amazing on the Bridge.

The owners are lovely people. They work hard to keep the place up. Small store with groceries and fishing stuff, even a coffee bar! The river is still up 12 feet so lots of the front area was underwater making a fun place to swim and fish. They have canoes and kayaks. So much fun! Will definitely continue to stay here.

Danny & Stephanie have such a great set up at their place from the large store to float trips. We built a campground down the way from them and they have been not only wonderful neighbors but a wonderful resource to refer our campers to for the store & float trips.

The cabins and yurt were all clean and so cute! We enjoyed the cold air. We were thankful to be able to bring the four wheeler to take to the bathroom since the older members of our party would have struggled making it up the hill. It was a wonderful vacation and we will be staying again. This time however, we will keep our marshmallows close so the raccoons don't run off with our open bag mid s'more time!

The new people that bought the place really stepped up and this will be the new "Diamond in the rough" place to float, camp, and just get away from the normal. Camp sites have water and electricity and they have all kinds of canoes, rubber rafts, kayaks, and even double kayaks! Not to mention it won't break the bank to get away for the weekend.

The view of the river was more than amazing. Danny was an amazing host and made sure everyone was comfortable and had everything we needed and more. The property was so clean and staff was so friendly! Thank you for an awesome experience and I will be bringing our family down as well! ❤

This place was amazing!! The view was absolutely beautiful. The campgrounds were very well-maintained and clean. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We were first time floaters they took the time to explain everything to us the 5 mile float is breathtaking I would definitely recommend it!

Absolutely love this place! Took my wife and kids to stay in the yurt. It was a great time. Kids ran around and had a blast doing. Camp grounds were clean and well kept. Yurt was awesome! Has power, a/c, microwave, ceiling fan, bunk beds, fold out couch, gill pit, wood porch, and water hook ups. Yurt is within maybe 100 yards of the river. Highly recommend this place!

My 8 year old and I went this weekend on a mother/daughter trip. Perfect for a family trip. Owners were so gracious, friendly and accommodating, cabin was clean, perfect space to fit our needs, and the canoeing was peaceful, relaxing, and clean.
Highly recommend this if your looking for simple canoeing, something family friendly, and quiet and secluded.

Very family oriented. Owner, Danny very personable. Offer riverside, primitive, cabin and RV camping with showers, toilets, electricity and fire rings. Quansi hut, small boat ramp, kayak and canoe rentals. Excellent bait and extensive lure shop with snacks, light meals, essentials, ice, wood and souvenirs. Located near the Caplinger Mills dam and bridge.

Visited Caplinger Woods this weekend for a mothers retreat.

This campground is beautiful. It's well maintained. I love the shade trees. The customer service is exceptional. River access was wonderful. 100% recommend and cannot wait to go back.
