What a wonderful visit; GO HERE! The volume of artifacts, the knowledge or the docent, we spent three hours enjoying the four buildings. Our visit covered the Lenni Lenape to modern day Cape May County, the military exhibit, the stories of Ancestors came to life. You don't want to miss this site on your travels!

We only got to see the barn so far, but it was wonderful and interesting. The gentleman that showed us around was very kind and knowledgeable. We look forward to visiting again with more time to see the other buildings. Even my 6 year old found things to hold his interest. A wonderful place and amazing people!

The Museum of Cape May County was established nearly a century ago. Since then, it has been preserving and promoting the area’s rich history.

The museum is managed by the local historical society and has expanded to such a point over the years that it’s now spread over three buildings.

The exhibits are changed regularly, which means there’s always something new to see and learn, no matter how many times you visit.

The museum is open to casual visitors, and there are regularly scheduled guided tours given by knowledgeable locals for those who’d like to make the most of their time spent on-site.

The paranormal investigation event with NJ ROPE was pretty freaking cool. Got to learn a little history of the buildings and paired off into teams of 3-4 people to "investigate" with equipment provided. We got to explore the house (with a lot of rooms), carriage house, barn, listen to past captured evidence and even investigate the cemetery across the street. At the end of the night, we got a debriefing on evidence captured that night. Even though I am a native, this was my first time here. So the event gave me a glimpse into the the actual museum itself. It was too dark to see, but definitely had a lot of cool stuff, so I'd definitely like to come back and check the buildings out in daylight. According to the website, the house museum is only available via guided tours.

Best kept secret in Cape May area! What a wonderful little museum. It has something for everybody, for all ages. Absolutely worth a visit when you are in Cape May, Stone Harbor, Avalon, or Wildwood -- the perfect rainy-day activity. Sadly, they have lost their NJ state funding for 2018, so they really need your support. Please visit and consider becoming a member!

We visited this museum recently and it was fantastic! We did not know that guided tours were mandatory (this should be more apparent on the website). That being said, our guide Jennifer was wonderful. She was not only knowledgeable but added humor to the tour! We would not have learned so much about the history without her knowledge. I would highly recommend a visit to this museum!

What a great museum. Very knowledgeable and very nice people run the place . My family I stopped by for a tour and it was worth every penny . The place is always getting new items. You should see the lighthouse part of the tour. Can't say enough about it . We'll always come back.

The most concentrated hub of local history Cape May county has to offer! Wonderful tours and an excellent genealogical library. It's picturesque and you'll learn a LOT. Each year offers something different.
