This place rocked and we went when it was empty! Nice menu and excellent service. Portion sizes were above average and the service was excellent. Cesar salad and the crab cake burger served as a nice clean lunch in between a weekend of sweets and snacks. Thanks again!

Always a fantastic meal. Consistent year after year. Cocktails were top notch. Chicken parm never disappoints. Family also had the pizza, crab cake, blackened mahi-mahi. Kids loved Mac n cheese and chicken fingers.

I have to say this is one cool spot! The food is delicious and the adult milkshakes are fantastic! Has a little night life in it as it gets later in the evening which makes it fun for Avalon with music, trivia pretty outside seating and a friendly staff.

To start, I’ve only sat at the bar here, but we’ve never had a bad experience. The servers are very quick and the cocktail list is fun and changes each season (the wife’s pineapple cosmo is attached). They usually have a Cape May brewing beer on tap too. They seem to have live music a lot during the summer too, which is a nice addition to the ambience.

Been here in Avalon for the summer and have come here a bunch of times since it’s right up the street from us. It’s typically pretty busy, especially on nights with live music. We have ordered food on a few occasions and didn’t expect much but have been pleasantly surprised with the quality and consistency. We have liked everything we ordered off the menu.
As far as drinks go, they could definitely be more consistent between bartenders, one bartender will make a drink perfectly while the next one ordered from a different bartender will be complete different.
It doesn’t get jam packed with 20 something’s after 10pm like some of the other bars

Great meals. Prime rib perfectly cooked for me and crab and spaghetti. Very delicious just a bit spicy. Everyone was quite pleasant!!! Will go back in a heartbeat!

Stopped by for lunch before picking up our keys for the beach house rental. Food was fresh, the salads were HUGE, very filling, and our server was nice (I can't remember her name, sorry!). Will definitely stop by again.

Needed a place to grab a bite after being a witness for my daughter's marriage license!!!
Booked through open table and I could not be happier. Sat on the deck and we had a nice private area for the four of us. Great seafood, flash fried Brussels sprouts were amazing and had an nice amount of spice. Sorry no pics, I are it too fast :)

Service was great. Everyone seemed to enjoy their entrees. They made up a meal for me that I could eat - thank you.

I give 4.9 stars: I don't mind, and expect, the gratuity to be added automatically for 8 or more guests, BUT I find it obnoxious to put a 20% tip onto the NJ sales tax.

The food and drinks were really good. There were 20 of us and that included 4 young children. The wait staff was excellent, they made sure the kids meals came out quickly. The live music was awesome, it kept the kids entertained while the rest of us ate.

Just had a lovely experience here tonight! Our server Abby was extraordinary! The coconut encrusted shrimp were delicious. The two cocktails were well done.The menu is so varied, something for everyone. Thank you!

I wanna emphasize first, my family has loved the Rocking Chair for years. Always a good environment with good food, drinks and service, so I can’t give less than 5 stars.

However, the regular Quizzo host is the WORST. He gets in fights with the patrons frequently. Some questions are literally multi-answer questions or he is just wrong about the answer, but when people bring it up to him he’s actively rude to them. It’s a shame because we love coming for Quizzo on Fridays and have so for 3 summers, but this guy has officially ruined it for us, and we won’t be back for Quizzo until they replace him.

(There was a substitute quizzo host before MDW and he was excellent!!)

Truly love this place though, so I hope they can replace this guy so we can come back to Quizzo Fridays!!

Outstanding breakfast! Omelette (western) about the best I’ve had!! Good fresh squeezed OJ always a treat. Service very good too which isn’t easy late summer on 7 mile island. Really nice outdoor/ porch dining space. . Highly recommend, (Don’t miss their quizzo nights either !)

Just had another delicious dinner at Rocking Chair! The early bird special is not only a great value but every bit a delight. Not fancy food so much as incredibly well prepared home cooking. The salmon was perfectly cooked, the veggies fresh with just the right amount of crunch. My wife had a clam filled garlic white sauce on her linguine pasta. Piping hot. Fresh baked rolls. A delicious cold wild greens salad with a homemade lime dressing. And a drink and key lime pie all for $21.00 served by a knowledgeable and pleasant server! Our favorite off season go to. Don’t miss the best dinner deal on 7 mile island.

Went for the early bird dinner and it was excellent. Our server Kylie was knowledgeable about the menu and made our dining experience a pleasant one. The ambience was what you would expect from a seashore restaurant and I would highly recommend it.

Stopped in at the bar tonight. Chuck hooked us up with a great margarita and service!! we'll be back soon for sure!!

My wife and I went for appetizers and drinks but wound up getting the early bird specials and it was definitely the right decision. The service and food was amazing. I will be a regular customer going forward.

Our server Todd was professional and friendly. The food was delicious! Key lime pie was perfect!

We went here during avalon restaurant week. The service was outstanding. Our waiter was so kind and he was very knowledgeable about the menu. The food was out of this world. He informed us that they have a new chef specializing in their seafood dishes and boy were they good! If you are not a seafood lover you will still be extremely satisfied with the large selection of the other dishes available! The new chef needs to enter their clam chowder recipe into the seafood festival contest! By far the best we have had! I highly recommend going to Rock N Chair. You will not be disappointed.

It’s been a few years but we came as a family for dinner and the Rocknchair did not disappoint! Food and service were fabulous
