Excellent dining experience from upon arrival, Emily was so pleasant and inviting. Our server Travis was excellent with his recommendations and so personable! Short rib was so tender and portion was generous, the halibut so fresh, poached and just simply so flavorful! The Kit Kat dessert sealed the deal! Will be back!:

Lovely restaurant, had a great vibe and service from the moment we walked in. The food was absolutely fantastic with unique twists on dishes and all cooked perfectly. The home ade KitKat bar dessert is a must order.

Farm to table at its finest! Dine indoor or out! anything but pretentious ambience and best of all, BYOB! If you’re looking for the best server (in our opinion) ask for Anna. From tuna to steak and the catch of the day, the chef here will keep you guessing but trusting them will be the tastiest decision you’ll make all week! Avalon is home to some incredible eats but if you frequent and haven’t yet checked out this spot, stop in and pig out!

Lovely outdoor garden at the Diving Horse made me feel comfortable to truly enjoy the wonderful dining experience. Food was delicious and beautifully prepared, and service was friendly and efficient. Went back again the following week and enjoyed the same meal again!

Our favorite restaurant in Avalon! Their staff is incredibly attentive. Their oysters are also the best I’ve had at the shore. We love that they change up their menu pretty often as well! We loved everything we got here!

Food was legit and impressive considering they made everything for a rehearsal dinner and it came out in a timely manner and not one dish was cold. Service was great in a beautiful surrounding area

We always enjoy a meal at the Diving Horse! I would call it the best dinner on the island - maybe rivaled by Cafe Loren. I don’t recommend take out - like all restaurants - tends to be better in house. Definitely more for special occasions than all the time. Some people bring their well behaved kids but I leave mine at home. Tomatoes, wedge, short rib, local fish, and Kit Kat desserts are favorite. Try any specials!

Everything was perfect!! Food was outstanding!!! Best meal I have had out in a long time.!!!! Service was awesome. Stella, our waitress knew her stuff. One of the most knowledgable waitresses I have met. I highley recommend this place.

This place is absolutely amazing! You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, everything is fabulous and great value. Fresh ingredients, excellent service (shout out to Patrick, you are the best) , and great atmosphere. This is a must go, if your in Avalon or even an hour away, worth the trip! Thank you Diving Horse, best meal of the summer.

Jackie was attentive and informative about the menu. The scallops were very tasty and the right sized portion with 4 of them. Short ribs were tender and tasty. Love the BYOB portion and Jackie was happy to keep opening the bottles. Look forward to returning!

As always, from start to finish, the whole experience was exceptional.. best restaurant at the shore hands down! It is a great looking space, with a nice and not to loud atmosphere. The food was delicious, from the TDH Wedge and Jumbo Shrimp to start, the Crab Pasta and Short Rib next, to the "Kit Cat" Dessert to finish. The service was exceptional, particularly Ryan! Can't wait to come back!

Beautiful Place with Awesome Fresh Food and great service. Loved it !!!!! This is a BYOB Place with limited menu choices but this is how you get Great Fresh Food done perfectly. Scallops, Shrimp Cocktail, Warm potato salad and Mac and cheese were incredible. The homemade bread was also great. I will be returning again on my next trip to Avelon

Ok. This 5 star review is for Bill and Bill specifically (although, the whole staff seemed pretty rad…but I only communicated with bill!) I’m a vegan and he worked with me on the MOST AMAZING pasta dish I’ve ever tasted. Not to mention he’s just so kind and friendly and great sense of humor. Anyway, cool vibe at the restaurant. Really tasty food. always love BYOB

My apologies for not mentioning the service. My family and I were greeted upon our arrival. Outside seating was very comfortable. Our server was Bill. He was awesome. The desserts were amazing ♡

Without question, best meal we've had in Avalon/Stone Harbor in all the years we've been coming here. Top quality ingredients with professional prep in the kitchen. Service is friendly and also highly professional. Prices are in line with the area and reasonable, especially considering what you save with BYOB.

At my table,, we enjoyed our entrees, veggies, and salads immensely! Each of us raved about the taste, the texture, and presentation of our meals. Portions were generous, satisfying, and appetizing. Service was attentive and friendly. We will definitely return and make The Diving Horse a destination treat for ourselves; we won’t wait for our yearly trip to the shore. Kudos to the chef and his entire staff for our memorable meals and dining experience!

This is the nicest restaurant between OC and Stone Harbor IMHO. The food is super high quality. The outdoor atmosphere is beautiful (inside is nice too!) and the staff is very nice. Always enjoy it here

This was an amazing experience. The wait staff was top shelf! The menu was exquisite and the decor and ambiance are gorgeous. I had the fluke sitting on a bed or spring vegetables that was so light and flavorful, I think it was one of the best meals I have had out ever! What a wonderful restaurant. We can't wait to try their other two restaurants in Philadelphia. By far, the best restaurant at the beach in Avalon and Stone Harbor.

Possibly the most consistently delicious food on the island. I have never had a dish here that was less than excellent. My wife does not like short rib, but this one seemed to hit all the right flavors and textures. Always opt for dessert.

We had a delicious meal here in May 2021. The service was exceptional! Everything is always so consistent at the Diving Horse. The location is covienent in town and drinks pre/post dinner are a must at the Princeton across the street. Overall, a very enjoyable night out.
