Not open for vehicular traffic but you can walk across the locally famous Dunn's Bridge. Built by a farmer named J.D. Dunn, it crosses the Kankakee River and joins the two halves of his property. Now a public park operated by Porter County and the only public access to the river in the county.

It's an adorable bridge and some of the best photos you'll get in this part of Indiana. Some say the bridge was built in the mid-1890s using steel beams salvaged from the 1893 Colombian Worlds Fair in Chicago. Others contend the bridge was built using pieces of the original Ferris Wheel, which premiered at the fair and was dismantled after the 1904 Worlds Fair. Whatever you believe, it's neat!

There is parking here but not much cellular coverage. Enjoy!

If politicians actually spending our tax dollars properly. This is a beautiful bridge and a fun place to explore along this scenic river. With the boat launch under the bridge I wish I would have brought my Canoe.

A farmer built this bridge over 120 years ago so he could get to his land on the other side of the river. He used steel salvaged from a famous Chicago worlds fair.

In 1994 the county bought and restored it and turned it into a County Park and public boat launch. It’s very interesting to explore.

Local legend vibes. Glad I finally checked it out. The Kankakee was beautiful and there were Sandhill Cranes all over the place.

Lovely park with plenty of parking and a concrete ramp for boat launch. The bridge is iconic and there are paths. Great place.

Clean, nice place to hang out, the bridge makes a great place to take pics. Bring bug spray though.
