Hometown Roots

We dined here for a conference dinner with about 30 people. The owner gave us a rundown of the restaurant’s style and was super personable. We had about two servers taking care of our entire party and they knocked it out of the ballpark! Orders were timely, service was exceptional, food was to die for, and atmosphere was festive and cozy. Our server, Courtney, was top notch and deserves a shoutout for her amazing personality and service. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The food was amazing! Some of the best food I have ever had! The presentation of the food was mind blowing! The Quality of this place impressed me so much. It was like a very high end restaurant, but the prices were on par with every where else we eat. The service was top notch the atmosphere was mind blowing good. If lived closer would totally become a regular! Gonna have to make a pilgrimage back to it!

Our first time the food was great. Regina our server did great job. She was attentive knew the menu very well. The jalapeños corn bread was excellent. My wife had the Roast Beef Manhattan. I had the Country Fried Steak dinner, with the casserole hash browns. Excellent, great atmosphere. Reasonable prices. All employees were friendly and the establishment was clean. We will be back

This is the 2nd time we have been to Hometown Roots. We stumbled on it in June 2023 traveling on vacation. This time, we planned a weekend trip all around going back to the restaurant because it was so incredible. The place hits all the marks….great chef inspired food that is not pretentious but is unique, amazing service and staff and more than reasonable prices considering the food is very high end. Please go there for lunch or dinner! Best restaurant experience we have ever had. Try the fried pimento cheese and deviled eggs! Try the Ky Hot Brown! Try the jalapeño creamed corn! And the fried shrimp was divine!

This was our first visit to hometown for Sunday brunch. A short menu, but everything was delicious and presentation really helped make the food. They also offer a full bar with a delicious bloody Mary.

BEST restaurant in Henderson, Ky! The cornbread is 🤤🤤🤤 and the pork chop is too! Their sweet tea is amazing, honestly i haven't had anything here I don't like! The atmosphere is very modern and cozy. 20/10 recommend!!

This is my second time this week at Hometown Roots. Great service! The music is fun. The food is flavorful and fresh. My salad had nice dark greens with tomatoes that tasted as if they came right out of the garden. Tonight I ordered the Shrimp and Grits. My favorite of all of North America!!!! Rich and deep flavors without burning the top layer off of my tongue! 🌶🌶🌶 The cornbread is so tasty I am sure it is a sin. 😇. Now, should I try the banana pudding? 🍌💗

Every single thing I ate was delicious! They bring a skillet of cornbread to every table and it was so good!! We had pimento cheese fritters and omg!!! So good!!! I had the hometown bowl and my husband had fish and chips. I can’t say enough about how good EVERYTHING was!!! I will most definitely be back!!

What a wonderful dinner and drinks destination. Loved it! The bartender Jonathan was the absolute BEST!! Definitely make this a stop when in Henderson.

Had to ask for the cornbread. Felt like we were forgotten, like our server was in another section most of the time. Didn't care for the BBQ sauce on the meatloaf. My meatloaf was burnt. The devil egg appetizer had 3 fried deviled eggs that were left in the fryer way too long. The lady at the bar was awesome... great bar service and drinks. The food not so much ... definitely wasn't worth the hype.

Food is prepared fresh daily. Their complimentary jalapeño corn bread and butter is superb. Service is always hood, and prices are reasonable. Love the atmosphere of the place.

Literally my favorite place that I’ve ever eaten at! From the service, to the food, to the drinks, to the atmosphere. It was all phenomenal and the staff and owners should be very proud of this restaurant. Me and my wife have decided it’s worth the 30-40 minute drive to go every date night we have!

The food was EXCELLENT! I was happy with everything at our table. Portions were just right, so you'll have room for desert! Do it! It's all so good.
They dont take reservations. We were seated quickly. There were 4 of us. It was crazy crowded, so that definitely affected the service, but they were trying very hard. We will go back.

Quick seating at 5pm but pretty full soon after (Wednesday night)! Local beers on tap is nice. Specials are a pop-up rotating list that run about a week or so and a good selection of options on the regular menu. Server attentive and helpful on questions. Definitely will return.

First time eating there and we're in love with the place...everything we ordered was absolutely delicious! The following pictures are the Jalapeno Cornbread that they bring out complimentary, salad with honey mustard hot bacon dressing (yum), Ky hot brown (excellent) and Brisket mac and cheese. I would highly recommend any of it! Way to go Todd's!

Fun menu and inventive cocktail list. The line out the door on a Saturday night let me know that it was a solid choice. If Rebecca and Rex are at the bar you are in for a treat. They know how to pair a great beer or cocktail with whatever you order and we'll make sure you have a good time. (I know it's hard to take a picture of a bathroom sink but I thought it was clever. I also like the mini pickle jars that they use when you taste a beer. Both go to show how the restaurant is dedicated toward a fun customer experience)

Flavorful vegetarian / plant based options for myself.
Every time I've came with someone ( non-veg) they have enjoyed their meals.

We ate here last night and the food is tremendous. I got the filet and it was one of the most tender steaks I’ve ever had! Grilled to perfection alongside the smashed potatoes and veggies. The cornbread and banana pudding were outstanding as well! My wife has Celiac Disease but the chef and staff were all very knowledgeable and went out of their way to serve her. New favorite restaurant!

I cannot say enough about this place phenomenal! From the bucket chips to the cornbread as soon as you sit down to the chicken and waffles and the chess bars! Everything was wonderful!! Definitely going back! Wait staff was great too!

Phenomenal! It was about a 40 minute wait on a Saturday evening, but it was well worth it. Possibly the best meatloaf I’ve ever had and the chicken was piping hot, juicy, and crispy.
