Heid Music

I happened to hop into this store while on tour with a show I was performing in just down the street at the Performing Arts Center. The staff was very warm and welcoming and so very happy to help in any way possible. Ryan Smith helped me with all my questions. The store is well stocked and carries a great selection of horns to try. (I am a trumpet player and their offerings were quite good). If you are looking for anything in the instrumental market, this place is as good as any that I have seen.

Bill was very helpful as I chose a trombone, especially since he is a trombone player himself. He was very knowledgeable on all of the instruments, and had a great selection ready after I called ahead. He answered all my questions and gave his experienced opinion when I needed it. Our experience at Heid music was great, and I would highly recommend it.

The staff is wonderful at Heid. They are fun to talk to, knowledgeable and super helpful. We have been in twice within the week to get help with weather-related cello repairs and Mr. Jones has taken so much time to work with us. My 13 year old son, the cellist, delights in talking music with the staff as well.

As a university teacher I am so happy to have a shop like Heid Music next door to campus. Ryan, Chris, Tom, and many others have been indispensable in connecting my students and I with quality equipment, sheet music, and repair services for their studies. Many thanks and I’m sure I’ll be in again soon!

Heid Music is great to work with for Lawrence University students! They very generously donated 80 folders and water bottles to the new LU Pep Band to help us get started! Their staff is knowledgable and friendly, and their student discount is great!

I came into the store with 4 young children and was assisted immediately. We were shopping for a ukulele book and tuner. The associate found us the book quickly. He then told us about the different tuners and let my daughter choose between the 3 different styles. We were in and out in less than 10 minutes. The service provided was fantastic. The primary reason for the visit was to pick up an instrument after a repair. I didn’t test it until I got home; the repair was perfect. Chris was able to help faith a minor repair on my wife’s flute - a piece of felt had come loose. Chris did the work with efficiency and artistry. Thanks!

Outstanding customer service! Bill and Tom did a great job to help me find the right violin and case for my daughter. I will be coming back when my younger children need their full size violins.

We worked with Bill Burroughs to purchase a trombone at Heid. It was a no pressure sales approach. He recommended the trombone that sounded the best and fit our son’s need even though it wasn’t the most expensive. Our son loves the trombone and practiced several hours over the weekend. A Very pleasant group of people work here. When I walked in, I was greeted immediately and received help finding what I needed. I want to give a shout out to Bill, who was a huge help and a real pleasure to deal with!

The staff were very helpful when I was trying out different mouthpieces and saxophones. They would go out of their way to help give me more options I didn’t feel rushed either. Over all a wonderful experience!

Love coming here to play with their guitars (even the ones far outside my price range) I have bought two guitars here, all the employees are kind and knowledgeable on the subject and are happy to talk with you. Used guitars for good prices, as well as accessories and anything else you need. Got a Lightly used Epiphone Les Paul Pro 2 for $450

I ordered a vintage Gibson 335 from Heid Music through Reverb and the entire experience was fantastic. The communication is great: the shop called me right after my purchase to check-in about getting the guitar delivered.

The guitar was shipped and delivered to me extremely fast and came packaged professionally. The guitar itself? I could ramble far too long about that, so I'll just say that it's amazing and I'm thrilled with my purchase (and the shop).

We had an absolutely wonderful experience with Bill picking out a cello. He took a great deal of time to ensure that my son matched perfectly with the instrument and bow - I was honestly not expecting that level of service. Will definitely be back and recommend this store to others.

Picked up my horn after repairs were completed in 3 days.
Ryan did everything to fast track repairs, as initial supplier was responsible for delays in the needed part.
Repairs make the trumpet look like new.

I had one of the best experiences I’ve ever had at a music store when visiting for the first time ever! I’m from a small town called LaPorte which is located in Indiana, about 4 hours from Appleton. Was here visiting my boyfriend for the Thanksgiving week.

I haven’t really explored the musical scene in the area so I decided to visit the Heid store in Green Bay. So I decided to look at some piano music and sit down and start playing through it, Heidi approached me and started talking to me and asking me where I’m from and all the usual small talk but we talked for quite some time and she had a lot of knowledge to share with me when talking about brands of pianos and some differences between them. She told me I could try out any of the acoustic pianos also. She was a very warm and welcoming person and I’m very grateful for that! She told me about the biggest store in Appleton, so later on in the day I had plenty of time to spare so I went and checked it out!

Just by entering the Appleton store I felt already at home! It’s a beautiful and decorated building. I’m not one for Nicknacks too much but I did buy a few! While I was looking at the piano music I had a guy named Jelani come up to me and ask me if I was doing okay and if he could help me with anything and then started asking me about piano and what brought me in. So I explained my whole life story to him lol! We talked for at least a half hour I felt very connected to him and was happy to find someone I could relate to so quickly. He explained some of the musical groups, buildings, festivals they have in the area to me and I was amazed! It all fit my kind of style. He’s a very friendly and great person!

I asked if I could go play the pianos in the show room and he said of course! So I went in and saw this cool Steinway upright piano, I’ve seen them before but never had a chance to actually play one! Welp, it was the only one I played for the two hours I was there, a nice team member came up to me that was in charge of that area and talked to me and asked me if I was trying out any pianos to think about purchasing or if I just wanted to play and have a good time, I told her what I was up to and where I’m from and she was also very nice! I unfortunately didn’t get her name and forgot to introduce myself as well, but I appreciated her compliments of my playing and was happy she enjoyed the Christmas music! This was on Monday 11/20/23.

The possibility of me moving up to Green Bay is getting to be a serious topic in my life and if so, i can’t wait to get to know more people from the company and hopefully make some more friends and get to play duets with other pianists or instrumentalists. Duets are my favorite to play! Thank you again so much for the friendly conversations and service! I can’t wait to come back! (:

Staff is always super helpful. If music/items aren’t in the store they will order them in. They are extremely knowledgeable and offer great suggestions. We love this store!
