The Boarding House Supper Club

This was our first time ever here. We loved it. The owner and all the staff were fabulous, personable and happy to be there. The food was excellent. I had tenderloin and shrimp scampi and my hubby had prime rib and bluegill. YUM! Salad bar was fresh and delicious. 10/10 recommend trying this place!

This supper club is amazing! The food, service, and atmosphere are all top notch! The bartender was extremely kind and helpful with any questions that we had with the menu. Our server was outstanding and went out of her way with her service. She highly recommended the beef barley soup ( it has pieces of prime rib in it) and it was delicious. Everything on the salad bar was fresh and the salad dressings are all homemade. The fresh bread on the table was warm and very good. We had barbeque ribs and the seafood platter for our dinners. The ribs were some of the best that I have ever eaten and the scallops on the seafood platter were amazing as well. I highly recommend this supper club. We were in the Shawano area on vacation and it was our first time here. I will definitely make it a regular stop on my visits to the area. The building is super cool and there is a great deal of history there.

Great spot!! Our steak tenderloins were cooked PERFECTLY. And their old fashioneds are made with real honey- delicious. Very unique building and atmosphere. Employees were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!

I cannot say enough good things about this supper club. We have been going to this establishment for years. Our cottage is nearby and we like to go here for special occasions. Today we were there, as we were leaving we had not realized we forgot our leftovers. One of our servers ran outside, across the street to bring us our leftovers. Which were many because of their wonderful salad bar. Thank you soooo much! We don’t go out to eat often, but this is one of our favorite places!!! 😋

Small bar and small dining room so it gets crowded. It's also crowded because the prime rib is cooked perfectly and fresh salad bar. Service very attentive ( thank you Sherry!) Nice wine selection too, going back very soon.

Food was excellent. Drinks and service was also excellent. Highly recommend. Old boarding House atmosphere. The bacon dressing was delicious on my salad!

Family was visiting so we tried dinner here. Waited just over an hour, bar was very crowded when we arrived so the guys stood and the girls sat on the stairs. The Old Fashioneds are popular but were SO strong they were almost undrinkable; it wasn’t just us, others commented on it also. Other than that it was fantastic. Staff was busy but friendly. Basic salad bar, soup was excellent. Dinner was delicious. We will be back!

This is got to be one of the best family owned supper clubs around and worth the drive! Very unique historic atmosphere. I believe the building dates back to 1896 which is 125 years old! Still showing its History.
We went with a group of 10 on a Friday night. The wait wasn't bad since we got to enjoy a few home made old fashioned with honey(the best).
Between all of us, I think we had a little taste of everything. The Prime rib was melt in your mouth and flavored very well. The Tenderloin was done to perfection and seasoned unlike any other. The Broiled Haddock with lemon pepper smothered in mozzarella cheese was awesome! The salad bar has got to be the best I've ever experienced. Nice selection, very fresh, and large salad bowls to pack it all on.
Hands down to the owners, Steve and Melisa . We all had a great experience and will definitely be back!

Read a previous review of a woman that we believe was near us(Jessica, if that is her review)and I think she was on a mission to have a bad night out. In a mood from the second she walked in! Wow! Some people need to stay home at that point! Small businesses have a tough enough time, without having to deal with people like that.

The building has been there since 1896 so very unique atmosphere. For was delicious, made exactly as ordered. Salad and soup bar was excellent. Went on Valentines Day so was expecting heavier traffic but got there early enough and was seated within 20 minutes. Definitely was worth the wait.

The Boarding House is my favorite supper club by far. They have the best steaks, old fashions, soup (beef barley) and salad bar. I've been going here for almost 30 years, and it's simply the best!

One of the best places for a great steak in NE Wis. Many, many years ago we had our wedding reception dinner there and the food is as good now as it was then! Just a very nice friendly place with excellent food.

The staff is excellent as always...you will get the best old fashion here, made with "real"maple syrup...the steaks are the best in the area.. I love the antique decor as well. The place is a bit small and fills up fast, if you have a group get there when the door opens. Many people have their Christmas parties here...the service, staff, drinks, and food are the best...will be going here for dinner as often as we can...

Such a warm family atmosphere. Very vintage and classy without feeling stuffy and exclusive. Their Prime Rib has never disappointed and neither have the old fashions.

We visit the Suring area usually once a year, and The Boarding House is top of our list for things we look forward to on our trip. Great food every time, and the atmosphere and feel of the place is just as great.

The boarding house is like a step back in time. A true Wisconsin Supper Club with a quaint old time look and feel and rich history. The food we had was very good ( I had Prime Rib) the service was prompt and courteous. The salad bar was fresh and well stocked. The Old Fashions are made with a squeeze of honey and were very good. If you want a true unpretencious Wisconsin Supper Club experience, try the Boarding House!
