Scenic Shore Inn

We stayed here because of a DI tournament at Algoma High. Can't beat the location! Nice rooms, very nice pool and sauna (small but warm and well maintained), great breakfast, and wonderful service.

We are a retired couple based in Chicago, and we travel a LOT - overseas on our own, as well as road trips within the USA. When booking lodging we look for convenient location, comfort, cleanliness, and good value. Scenic Shore Inn, on the southern outskirts of Algoma, had it all. We were pleasantly surprised!

We booked a "Superior" room - just $10/night more than the standard rooms - and were happy with our choice as it had a very good refrig/freezer (freezer was SEPARATE - rare in motel freezers!), microwave, & coffee maker, and was close to SSI's "Gathering Room" which has tables, coffee/tea, and TV. Thus we could bring our own dinners from home (just 2 nights), which is always my preference for health reasons as well as cost.

Two beds were very comfy, adjustable heater worked well, bathroom had a bathtub/shower combo, towels were good, sink was separate with good counter space. Lighting was good, there was a desk & chair, internet worked fine, and our room was very clean.

There are no restaurants next door, but we hadour car and downtown Algoma is close by. This was our 2nd stay in Algoma so we knew it has a really good brewery (Ahnapee) & a very good bakery too (North Water Bakery). There are decent restaurants in the area, too, but as I said, we prefer to eat our own food. A surprise for us was the Algoma town beach - it had great pebbles with fossil corals, granites, limestones, & various quartz family members. So we had a nice time pebble hunting!

We were at SSI Oct 15-17, just 2 nights. Weather was already quite chilly (high in 50's, low in 40's), but for warmer weather, a gas grill on an elevated wrap-around porch (with tables & chairs) is available at SSI for guest use. There's also a heated indoor pool and an exercise room with some equipment. I didn't bring my swimsuit and we had enough exercise as we were out walking all day, but those were nice touches.

Breakfast is included in the room price and it, too, was a pleasant surprise. There were eggs (the processed kind, but that's OK, at least some protein!), sausage, English muffins & bagels, a pancake or waffle maker (? I didn't use it), whole fruit, cereals (including oatmeal), yogurts, and an assortment of juices, milks, and teas (very nice assortment!), as well as coffee. Some whole grain bread would have been nice, but we had brought our own whole wheat bread & hi fiber cereal from home, so we were fine.

Very friendly staff they go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Rooms are very clean. Beds are very comfortable. Pool is clean. 10 stars out of 5.,, will b back no doubt.. usually bikers are an outcast at some places but we felt welcome n always curious on our adventures so cool.

This motel is owned by a great tag team husband and wife duo. They have brought creature comforts to their buildings while keeping you on the bluffs above lake Michigan. The rooms are clean, comfortable and totally independent for heating and cooling. Each individual entry for the rooms allows for great privacy and ease of use. The pool is warm and so is the great breakfast every morning. If you are looking for nighttime fun the back community deck is full of fun games and even a grill for cooking out. You won't be disappointed with your stay.

What a lovely place! Everything was just perfect, like the old Algoma I remember as a child. Table and chairs in front of your room to have a cup of coffee and enjoy the lake views. A lovely deck with a comfortable seating area in the back overlooking open grassy area, even an eagle flying back and forth. Flowers in pots all around, cute sculptures and signs everywhere. A pool, sauna and exercise room, conference room if needed. A full hot breakfast served in a lovely room complete with gas replace. We didn't want to leave! The owner Bob, well, he couldn't have been nicer! We will definitely be back!!!

We enjoy staying at the Scenic Shore Inn. The rooms are nice - always very clean. The free breakfast is tasty with a nice variety of food.

Came up here to visit family and stayed the night here. Pool temperature was perfect. Breakfast was great, we had sausage, eggs, bagels, waffles, fresh fruit, cereal, and apple juice. Our room was clean and comfortable. Staff was very friendly and I'm sure they would have helped with anything if we asked.

There is everything right with this facility. CLEAN is the top perk. Even the pool area is spotless. The pool itself is salt water, not chlorine, which is a wonderful thing. The pool isn't huge, but the water is the exact right temp, and there is a basketball hoop for added fun. The breakfast is great - waffles, cereal, fruit, bagels, juices, milk ... so many good choices. Owner/manager is very nice - I was greeted every time I saw him - and it appeared he was around all the time, so help would be available if needed. The rooms even have a great view of Lake Michigan. So relaxing. The rooms are well-appointed and extremely clean. I just can't say enough good things about the place. I was there for a few days and visited Washington Island one day, Manitowoc the next and Green Bay the day after that. Easy access to all from Algoma. Access to the Lake Michigan beach is close by. Great shops and wineries are close as well. Stay here - you'll be glad you did!!

Whenever we are exploring the lower half of Door County, this is where we stay. The rooms are clean, the owner is delightful, the pool is clean and easily accessible and the breakfast is amazing. It's a quiet place to stay on the edge of town and easy to get to.

Dog friendly, extremely clean, amazing staff & so reasonable I felt guilty? Yes, this Scenic Shore Inn is all that & more. Kristina (aka kitchen lady) is so friendly & helpful. She always had a smile & a laugh and kept the kitchen stocked and immaculate! There's an indoor pool, outside deck with a bag set, numerous rocking chairs out front and a great walking path out back for our dog duty. I can not recommend this gem enough. Thank you for a great 3 night stay!

Great experience for a small town motel!

They have a lot in the way of amenities (pool/continental breakfast/exercise room) that you wouldn’t normally expect from a motel.

The rooms are clean. The mattresses were medium firmness and the pillows were also adequately firm.

Even in October, the room was a little stuffy, but opening the window or turning on the AC unit did the trick.

The walls are a little thin, so you can hear children running along the stairwell, but nothing out of the ordinary.

The view is great! You can see Lake Michigan from the balcony.

The WiFi is strong enough to stream videos and social media.

Took a little fishing trip to Algoma with my family of 5 and mother and father in law. Checked different places to stay and found this place. Kids wanted a pool and we were pleased to find out they had a family suites that slept all of us very comfortably. The owner was super nice and helpful!! Clean rooms, clean sheets, clean towels and bathroom. Full kitchen living room and three beds. Pool and sauna. We had so much fun and many laughs. Very good continental breakfast! The owner also recommended a few places to get a good fish fry. We chose the Reds bar and grill. It was very good and reasonably priced. We will definitely come back!! Thanks so much!!

10/10 recommend!! The place was clean and the staff was EXCELLENT. The breakfast was great. Close to door county without the cost of door county. About 3 min away is a light house on the water where you can watch the sunrise if you're in to that :) We're very pleased with our stay and would stay there again!

A perfect place for a family vacation. The rooms were spacious, clean, and well maintained. The grounds include a fire pit, grill, picnic tables, and other places to sit outside. There is also a pool and sauna. We absolutely loved staying at the Scenic Shore Inn.

Our family of 5 stayed in Scenic Shore Inn for almost a whole week as other places were all booked up in early August. We were not sure what to expect from SSI, but it turned out totally awesome. The rooms are very clean and property very well kept. Owners couldn't be nicer. Breakfast was filling and lots to choose from. We will definately stay there again.

We stayed for 2 nites over July 4th wkend and totally enjoyed our stay here. The room was clean, up to date , beds very comfortable. The shower water pressure and hot water was Outstanding! Breakfast area abundant with variety of fresh food items from yogurt, juices, eng muffins, cold cereals to make your own waffles and fresh fruit. Items were replenished regularly even when we came in at 9:30 a.m. the breakfast bar was well stocked#
Very friendly place, many spots to relax on outdoor deck. Pool available too. Management was extra friendly and told us abt a fireworks display that nite just down the road at lakefront. Amazing good experience here.

Stayed here last weekend for three nights. Updated rooms, clean and comfortable beds and pillows. For breakfast you have a pretty good selection from a cold to a hot meal. I did not take advantage of the pool or sauna, but looked very inviting. The owner is very nice and makes sure you are enjoying your stay. I will be back for sure.

My mom and I stay here every year for our mother/daughter weekend. We will never stay anywhere else. The owners are amazing. They above and beyond to make sure you have the best stay. They greet you every time they see you outside. The breakfast is great, the pool is nice, and the views are amazing. I would give them more than 5 stars if I could. :)

Great little motel! The rooms were super clean, updated and accommodating. Very reasonably priced. Great views. Continental breakfast was provided and good. Great room, pool area and sauna were all super clean. I would definitely recommend this place to stay and would stay here again! Owners are very friendly

The owner is incredibly friendly and helpful. They have a well maintained pool, and hot breakfast available with a nice seating area. They have a nice little seating furniture to sit out on the balcony or patio (depending on first or second floor) on a nice day.
