Love the small town atmosphere. Love the non chain vibe. So personable from the the decor to the customer service.
We started out with the cheese curds- these were ooey goodness with homemade ranch. Onion rings were fresh breaded with a crispy outside and hot onion inside, the fried pickles were fresh breaded as well. Crispy and hot.
The Cowgirl Kate with fried pickles, pepper jack cheese was cooked mw but still juicy. The pickle added crisp to the burger and pepper jack cheese and spicy homemade ranch were a huge hit.
The chicken strips were your typical basket. We had their homemade mashed potatoes with a hint of garlic. Yum, yum.
Fresh rolls were delivered hot and soft.
The food is fresh, hot and the service is so very personable.
A must visit with a return visit in our future.
Also, try their malted milkshake.
McKynlee was a super friendly. This is why you visit non chain restaurants. The personable, friendly service, the atmosphere and food.

The atmosphere of this place is really nice. I like the old timey feel and I learned that it is the oldest active restaurant in Utah which was a cool little fun fact. Chloe was an amazing and incredible server and hostess and a lot of fun. She made the experience all the better. The Idleberry lemonade was from freshly squeezed lemons and completely homemade, and it was absolutely delicious. The rolls were also homemade, dense, thick, yet still soft and delicious, especially with the fresh homemade apricot jam. I had a very delicious white chili chicken soup along with fish and chips and my friend had the chicken fried steak and both were also very delicious. We would definitely recommend coming here again.

Always an awesome meal with the family or solo. The rolls are outright amazing! The complimentary homemade apricot jam tastes amazing. Every Entrée has been great! Chicken Fried Steak, Pot Roast Sandwich, Fish and Chips, Hamburger Steak and so many more are excellent! The salad is the perfect side. The Fried Zuchinni we just tried Saturday and that is a new hit! The kids meals cover all the bases for the pickiest eater. We have loved this place for years!

Great bison burger and fries. Great grilled hamburger steak served with sautéed onions, and mushrooms and a side of mashed potatoes. I loved the prompt and happy service. All served in historic booths or tables with local art and historic photos. I still Love the orange marmalade jam served with homemade rolls. The prices are very reasonable and they even have different daily specials. Still the same great place.

I was up visiting my daughter in Brigham City for a week; we strolled down Main Street and had lunch here. It was wonderful! We had the fried zucchini as an appetizer, fish n' chips for lunch and my baby granddaughter had the yummy rolls and corn :) Staff was wonderful as well; frequently checking back with us....I definitely recommend this Cafe for dinner or lunch....the menu is big and lots of choices....thank you for a wonderful experience!

I eat here often. Under new ownership everything just gets better and better. Came in tonight Friday and it was packed and the employees worked their tails off. The rolls are always the best in Utah. I got the trout and it had the best flavor. The owners have already done so much for the community. I highly recommend.

The waitstaff and team were warm, welcoming and very attentive. We had a party of 12 that they were able to accommodate (we called ahead) and they were ready when we arrived.

One in our party had a gluten allergy. When we informed the staff, the owner came over and explained our options in a very inclusive way and said that he knows how important it is that she could enjoy her food and still feel good. That was a first and she felt like she hit the jackpot.

Not only was the food delicious, everything came out pretty fast and as ordered.

We’re from out of town but will definitely make this a stop next time we’re in town.

Great food, amazing service, clean bathrooms and gluten free options.

Just like going to an old fashioned funeral dinner, great home spun food, home made rolls and jam, very tasty soup. Hard to beat at a reasonable price. Katie was a 5star wait staff

This is a charming little place on the quaint Main Street of Brigham City. The service was great and the food superb! The rolls and apricot preserves were delicious and I thoroughly enjoyed the country fried steak. I will definitely return if I am in the area again.

Very friendly staff and delicious food. My bison burger tastes like bison and not just beef. The dinner rolls were buttery soft fluffy clouds. Very accommodating for food allergies and the waitress was knowledgeable about what ingredients were in what. Will definitely go back.

This is one of my favorite restaurateurs in Brigham City. It always feels homey, and the food is delicious. They definitely make the best French fries in town! My daughter really likes the Dino nuggets (with ranch!), and I've enjoyed the beef stuffed rolls, pork schnitzel, and other items. This is a great place to go with the family!

I just enjoyed a catered lunch by Idle Isle Cafe at the Utah state Capitol today and it was incredible! The tomato basil soup was the best tomato soup I have ever had. The rolls were soft and dense and delicious. The berry green salad was very good, as were the sandwiches. The owners were very gracious. I now need to drive to Brigham City when I have a craving for tomato basil soup and delicious rolls!

**Simply the best of its kind.

I had not been back to Brigham City for many years. It had become my regular haunt. The burgers, chips, and general food were the best. However, the old style ambience was beguiling and very special.

I was amazed, and that is the word, to discover it is still there. The ambience is the same, and the food is delicious.

I also had a refreshing, freshly squeezed lemonade.

Needless to say, the staff are wonderful.

Idle Isle is a very special place indeed and I am so glad it is still thriving. Oh, how I wish I lived in Brigham City.

Had a wonderful meal here! We were in a rush and the owner accommodated us as much as she could. She was so kind, and the food was absolutely delicious, from the turkey, hot rolls and homemade mashed potatoes to the battered fries and huge, scrumptous cookies! I look forward to coming back when we have more time to try some other menu items.**If you liked my review or found it to be helpful give it a thumbs up 👍 thanks! Great service! Some food pics attached, real garlic fries. Today they were running a little slow due to a kitchen change out and they gave us our appetizer and drinks for free. Definitely coming back again and again

Great American diner food in a charming historic atmosphere with the friendliest service you could hope for. All meat, dairy, and bakery products are locally sourced from small, high-quality producers and you can taste the difference. The place has been in continuous operation for generations, probably because it represents the best in small town hospitality.

Just like stepping back in time! Good old fashioned home cooking. The homemade rolls were great, and they have Real butter! Always a plus. Big servings so you’ll have leftovers for later. Very friendly staff . You won’t be disappointed. How many restaurants do you know of that have been around for over 100 years?
