I am so thankful to have found this "jem" gym on the island. The owners are respectful and responsive. It's perfect to get a week pass or day pass while we are visiting our son. It had everything we needed to get a great workout in. I think we will get in one more visit before he transfers and corpus is no longer a destination. We will be back. I highly recommend to everyone looking for a gym 🏋‍♂ 💪 👌

I have over 30 years of gym experience in various parts of the nation and this is one of the best locally own gyms I’ve ever had the privilege to be in. Sunny (the owner) keeps the gym VERY clean (which I’m a stickler for), and her equipment is organized and easy to access. The restrooms are always clean and tidy as well. Everyone here, including the patrons, are very friendly and welcoming. The facility is safe and offers plenty of parking. 5/5 in my book.👍

My first time going into a place called “GYM” on the Island was so intimidating. I met with Sunny the owner sitting at the desk and told her I wanted a trainer who was experienced with back issues . I have osteoporosis, 62 yrs old and was told by my doctor that strength training will help me.
Sunny said she will train me and so began 5 months of seeing her twice weekly. Each week I could feel my body getting stronger and she encouraged me to try different machines that would strengthen my back muscles.
Fast forward to a few weeks ago while grocery shopping, a lady on an electric scooter cart bumped into my back hitting me on my left hip. At first I thought Osteoporosis and Fracture. But I was still standing and walking. X-rays showed no fracture and I credit my strength training with Sunny for protecting me from severe injury.
Some people train to bounce a quarter off their tight butt… I bounced off a whole shopping cart

I joined Island Fitness in 2022 and instantly loved the gym. I felt right at home, and the members were some of the nicest people I had ever met. A couple of months later, I asked Sunny, the owner, if she had an opening for a staff member...She did me one better...She asked me if I'd like to work there as a personal trainer. I have been training there since early 2023. This opportunity Sunny afforded me has been one of the best experiences I have had. I love this locally owned and managed gym. From the first time I stepped in, Sunny (owner) has been beyond helpful in my training goals! The equipment is a mix of cardio, weights and machines... accomodating for anyone just starting out, as well as the skilled athlete.

I love this gym! The people, ownership, equipment, overall vibe…I was in the best shape of my life when I lived on the island!

I always look for a nearby gym while on the road- googled up this place , went in during business hours and bought a 3 day pass instead of paying per day - as I’m up early they gave me a slide card so I could get in when I wanted - girl at desk was very helpful and the gym itself was awesome - older equipment but in great condition - gym was clean , organized and towel service - recommend island fitness to anyone

Great gym to be a part of, I love it here! Sunny, Camille & Leslie are all great! This gym has everything you need to get a good workout in, it's clean, has great music and everyone of all ages comes here.
They also offer group workout classes for those interested & personal trainers are onsite. I highly recommend this gym!

Great gym. All the equipment you'd need. Good mix of weights and machines. Much redundancy in dumbbells. Just enough people to have good energy in the facility, but not so many to make it feel crowded or make you wait for things.

My home away from home. The gym is always clean and has everything you need and then some. Sunny takes a lot of pride in Island Fitness and it shows. Great staff and great members!

Absolutely love this gym! I am a college athlete & come here to train during the summers. Sunny is one of the most knowledgeable & helpful trainers I have ever had! Definitely would recommend this clean, intimate gym to anyone visiting (as they offer day passes), or anyone local!

Everything you need from free weights to machine to cardio to classes. Sunny is my trainer, and is amazing. We started with my goals, and she has created a realistic path to achieve them; from workouts to recover to meal plans to stretching to an encouraging friend. Highly recommend to improve your health and life.
