Huntington Museum of Art

This museum is such a gem - a must see if you’ll be within a couple of hours. A subtropical conservatory complete with a Chihuly sculpture, nature trail, regional glass collection, near East art and weapons and pottery exhibits, firearms exhibit, cool gift shop, compelling regional photography, and an impressive collection of contemporary American art by famous artists to include Warhol, Frankenthaler, and Rauschenberg?! I’ll take it!

This is a pretty nice museum overall. Really enjoyed the collection of vintage fire arms. Might take an hour to go through. Took my girlfriend for free on a weekend one week. Something nice to go look through once or twice a year. Have a cool plant area as well.

This was a cute little museum. We spent a little over 2 hours here and got to see everything. Nice setup. The conservatory was phenomenal, it was my favorite part. It was absolutely worth coming here.

Popped in while passing through and was very impressed. Excellent exhibits provided a great education and the staff was very friendly. Even has a conservatory with a Chihuly sculpture and terrific fish tank. Great setting too - away from all the hubub with beautiful sculptures and trees all around.

I haven't been here since 1999. Lived in Huntington for a while. Does the entrance to the plant life area still have that wind tunnel??

A neat museum with exhibits varying from ceramics, glass, guns, and an unexpectedly large collection of oil and watercolor paintings. I particularly liked the Julie Chen art book exhibit. I wasn't expecting a huge museum for this city, and I wasn't disappointed.
Also learned about an artist Howard Somerville who painted a large portrait at the museum. It's always neat to learn new things!

A hidden gem in Huntington WV. Spend a few hours here. There is something for everyone. Art. Photography. Hiking trails. A small conservatory with a nice saltwater aquarium. A very cool firearms collection that traces the history of firearms development. And a nice gift shop.

An excellent institution, a wonderful asset for the community. A must-visit destination in Huntington.

What a wonderful museum! I saw interesting artists and innovative materials/techniques. If you are in the Huntington area, be sure to visit this art museum! I am glad I did.

As a WV native, I'm embarrassed to admit that until now I had never visited the museum. It has so much to offer: a vast variety of art, a conservatory full of exotic plants and some fun amphibians (and a well stocked aquarium), many sculptures throughout the grounds, a small butterfly garden, and nature trails. Unlike most museums, this one is not in an urban center but instead occupies 40-50 acres on a hillside in a residential area. I highly recommend it for all ages.

This is a truly hidden gem in WV. The art exhibits they had on display were amazing. I loved the artifacts they had from the Middle East. The conservatory was also a highlight with all of its different plants.

My 12 year old son and I visited for the first time yesterday and we both loved it. His favorite parts are the conservatory, and the gun room. Mine is the paintings. We spent about two hours looking around.
The staff is top notch, very friendly and knowledgeable. We will be back.

This place is super underrated, I feel not many people know how amazing of a museum there is in Huntington. I have been to a lot of art museums and this is one of my favorites, great art and changing exhibits and a really nice observatory with a ton of plants and critters. Staff is also incredibly nice and helpful.

This is a beautiful museum. Well thought out and delightful to walk through. We thoroughly enjoyed our time start to finish. A beautiful collection of art and sculptures. The conservatory was amazing. We will definitely return.

Great art museum with multiple galleries, small theater, art studios and conservatory. We just visited for a gallery talk from an exhibiting artist. Two impressive exhibits up right now of photography and print making from the museum's permanent collection. The museum has quite a few works by well-known artists. This art museum enjoys great support from its local community in purchasing and gifting good art. The museum also brings in artists to do regular workshops in the Gropius studios.

Impressive. So glad we stopped here on our way through. Really nice staff too. Kids 6 and 9 loved the art room.

Friendly staff, indoor and outdoor exhibits including a conservation area with plants, fish, and amphibians. Amphibians included dart frogs and the several axolotls. The museum had several fascinating exhibits, an interactive area for youth, and works from Matisse and Picasso.

I love going here it brings back lots of memories visiting as a young kid. I really like the plants, they have exotic plants I never seen before and even a chocolate tree. Museum is free on Tuesday.
