Ok. First off, this is my very first time coming here. My mom mentioned it to me yesterday that she used to get the best fish sandwiches here when she first moved here.
This evening we decided to go as I have never been. We got there about 1700, and there was no wait to be seated. The staff were very friendly and courteous.
Our server came out to greet us and gave us a complimentary order of their famous hushpuppies (very good, btw). The menu is loaded with a sorts of seafood favorites and even a few surprises. The prices were fair and the portions... let's just say HUGE!
I ordered the cod dinner with fries and coleslaw. Dad ordered the fish and chips, and mom had the fried cod sandwich.
The food was all fresh and hot. The coleslaw was crisp and flavorful. The fries were hot and crisp. Everything we ordered was delicious, and we will definitely put this restaurant in our monthly rotation. Our server was super friendly and knowledgeable. He had a great attitude. His name was Zack. Overall, I do highly recommend this local restaurant and believe you will neither leave disappointed or hungry.

My girlfriend has been telling me about Jewel City Seafood for months. We finally had the chance to get some take out last weekend. I went inside to get it and was surprised it is more Cafe style than nice restaurant style. It is nice, comfortable, and quaint. But, I was then very pleasantly surprised by the delicious food! I had the rainbow trout and scallops with baked potato, beans&rice, and slaw. She had cod with slaw and green beans. Two big meals for $52. I loved all of it. Both fish and scallops were cooked perfectly. The scallops had that "crisp for fish" texture with good flavor. The rainbow trout and cod each had their own distinct taste, rather than being "too fishy" like you would normally get at this price. I definitely recommend giving this place a try. I look forward to dining in and enjoying their very cheap daily specials!

The first time that we came here (around a year ago), we had a horrible server so we avoided here for a while. We started coming back about four weeks ago and got served by Zach. Very sweet and caring server! We ask for him every time now and are always impressed. Food is fantastic, only thing is that we’ve noticed the portions change frequently. But always tastes fantastic regardless.

I went to Jewel City for my birthday dinner, it was actually my first time there. The atmosphere of the place definitely doesn't sell it but that food was absolutely delicious and the best seafood in town. You can't beat fresh seafood. I'll definitely be going back.

My wife & i was traveling thru this area and decided to stop here for lunch on our travel north.
If no parking is available out front, you can go thru back alley area into there gravel parking lot which is abt 2bldg’s down from the restaurant, be careful driving into the gravel lot there is some depressions in the lot area.
Once entered into restaurant it was a clean, nice setup with seafood decor, we was taken to our table within a minute, Benches with Tables are setting up Middle with a wall divider between customers with Tables & Chairs setting around outside walls, our waiter was a great guy he was continuously taking care customers and doing great job at that.
I ordered the Wednesday Special which was pound of Fried Shrimp with Cocktail Sauce and 2sides which was OnionRings and Fried Green Tomatoes.
Waiter brought some delicious Hushpuppies while we waited on our order, which did not take long at all for our order to come to our table.
My order was prepared and cooked correctly, the entire order was straight out “dang gone” delicious.
Do not pass this Seafood Establishment up if in this area!!
Pricing i will give it $$ and that includes a good tip as well.

Jewel City Seafood is an awesome dining experience for the whole family plus friends & more! Beautiful people, Great Food! I both dine & work here! Take my word that you'd enjoy yourself if you chose to pay us a visit! Good Word ! Lol

Fantastic place, and my waitress/assist manager was absolutely wonderful. Melissa Pitthan was promoted, curtious, polite and the food was amazing. Clean atmosphere!
Nothing below suggests the food I had but I had lobster tail, sea scallops, grilled shrimp, clams, macaroni salad, red potatoes bake beans
and hush puppies 😋 fantastic food!

They have the best inland seafood. Crab legs were hot and fresh tasting, as was the oysters. Fried green tomatoes and dipping sauce were delicious. They have a cute historic upstairs waiting area that has original woodwork and pictures of the house and local community from long ago. It's worth every penny for a full belly.

I don't get down here often but I have never had a bad experience here. I have had everything from salmon to whitefish to calamari and I don't think I have ever had a bad meal or bad service here.

They remodeled a little since the last time I was here too but the atmosphere is always great.

This place is a hidden gem in my tri-state area. It is the best seafood place you will find in this part of the country unless you can make it down to the Carolinas.

I forgot to take pictures of my food today because it looked so good that I was already eating it before I remembered that I am reviewing local restaurants and businesses now. lol

First time visitor and I loved everything about Jewel City. The service was awesome, the food was borderline gourmet and the place was not crowded but we went between lunch and dinner crowds. I wish I would've grabbed a t-shirt but I will be back. There's always going to be a next time. I'm from the Ft Knox area and will haunt my friends to take me back!

Everything was good. I got the clam strips and they were really good. Atmosphere reminds me of a little place you'de eat at on vacation. Mom/pop vibe. Service was outstanding.. No complaints

Service was great, very sweet waitress and fast. The food was really good. The jumbo blackened shrimp came on top of a small bed of rice. It was fantastic. Perfect amount of blackened seasoning. Mahi mahi was cooked perfectly. I preferred the shrimp over the mahi, but both were excellent quality seafood. I couldn't finish everything because it comes with three sides. They aren't huge so don't let that turn you away, but perfect servings to have a taste and bring a little home for a snack later. Jewel City is highly recommended for seafood in Huntington, WV, you can't go wrong. It's not very big inside, not fancy so no need to think you're not dressed up enough, very casual. They do have non seafood choices like a few chicken and beef items. They also serve as a market to buy seafood to prepare at home, mostly market prices.

Awesome seafood, great atmosphere. The wait is worth it, always busy but we'll worth the wait! Great service, friendly servers and staff.

I love this place. They always have good food, and great service. If you enjoy local "non-chain" eateries, you should definitely check out Jewel City.

Are here today and it was amazing. Walked in the place was very clean. The hostess greeted and seated us with a smiling face. Order was taken quickly and received our order just as quick with perfection! I ordered the catfish (grilled) it was amazing! Well proportioned grilled correctly. This place is top notch for our area! Most defiantly going to Make this one of my regular spots!

We are in West Virginia visiting from North Carolina and wanted some fish. We decided to try this restaurant out! I ordered the blackened white fish dinner and got a side salad with the Mediterranean dressing and parsley butter potatoes. They brought us complimentary hush puppies with a sweet butter. We also ordered the crab dip, a fish po boy, the shrimp and the cod dinner. The food was delish! Really enjoyed the food + it was very filling!! Our waiter was pleasant + friendly. The inside is smaller and intimate. Happy we decided to try this restaurant. Next time we visit WV we will be back!! Sorry I only have my dinner pictured.

From the delicious hushpuppies you recieve upon sitting down, to the fabulous daily fish offerings, Jewel City will make you forget you are not any where near the water. This place is a staple. Expect to wait during dinner rush but never for very long, and it is worth it.

The Place is usually packed when I go but the food is delicious- portions are medium- sometimes the crab legs you pay for don’t have much meat at all in them but that’s not their fault. Other than that - pricing is fair for quality seafood in WV

Good location, limited parking though. I ordered the trio platter. Catfish, cod,and devil crab. With Cole slaw, fries, and green beans w/ tomatoes. Everything tasted fresh and well prepared. Overall a great meal. Except for the green beans with tomatoes. Meh. Fairly priced. Will be back.

Excellent service, Food and atmosphere. I cannot say enough positive things about Jewel City. We had a party of 8, seated upstairs and our wonderful waitress never missed a beat in serving us. She made multiple trips up and down the steps and she never lost her smile and joy. Food was spectacular and I highly recommend Jewel City to everyone.
