Hilltop Cafe

I was hungry, its a rural area. Asked a couple locals for a restaurant and got directed to this place.
When i pulled up, there were like 2 cars in the parking lot at noon. Not a good sign. The place just looked dreay from the outside, door hanging half shut. My expectations were low from first impressions.
Talk about being the opposite! The food was amazing, it was fast, servers were friendly. We're talking, that place was amazing, I've GOT to come back next time I'm in the area.
It was a simple club, but on steriods. It was huge, plentifully filled with bacon and turkey.
On the specials is something called a Thanksgiving pizza. I'm intrigued. Got a boston cream bomb for dessert that was absolutely delicious.
If ever in SW michigan, check out this little gem. You won't be disappointed! Don't let the first impressions scare you.
Trust me on this. I travel the country, and this is definitely in the top 10 for the entire nation.

Small joint, classic dinner food but fairly expensive menu. Food is consistently decent quality, served fast, and staff is friendly. Would you travel from far to eat there? No, but if your in the area, it's decent eats.

If you're looking for a place with a great down home atmosphere, staff members who always put a personal touch on each customers visit and remembers your drink orders the next time you come in, and great quality food well then this is the place to stop!! Fabulous menu selections, great soups of the day and the loaded chili is a great addition to warm you up on a cold day!!

My boyfriend and I had burgers, we ate at the restaurant. It was crowded but they were getting people seated and served quickly. We didn't have to wait for a table but other people did, I would say 10 minutes at the most. The burgers were really good. They had a nice char on the outside without being dry. They bring a bunch of toppings on the side which my boyfriend and I appreciate. Me because I don't have to ask for everything for my burger, him because he doesn't have to pick stuff off. The crinkle fries were good. They weren't overcooked like some places make them. Food was excellent for the price. We'll be back when we come back to Buchanan.

This was a hidden gem for me. I have been looking for a good breakfast place and have tried so many that are hit or miss. But this place has been a hit for me every time. The food quality is great, portion sizes are more than enough and prices are good. Never had had service. I just love this place and highly recommend checking it out.

Hilltop is a small hometown diner that does everything right. First, their menu is extensive and they will happily add or subtract. A majority of the food is from scratch, the stuff that isn't is still super high quality. Prices easily match the portions, massive plates of steaming hot food. Their soup is house made and always fantastic rich and velvety. To go orders are not a problem! One of the best times is Friday so you can enjoy the all you can eat fish. Flasky, moist and delicious, to go portions are easily enough for two meals. I'll keep coming back as long as they are there!

We just love this place. Staff is always friendly and ontop of everything. The waitress with the blondish hair and glasses (swear she’s always there) she has the biggest smile and makes you feel so welcome. Their food is amazing, low price for the big amount you get. It beats going to Three Oaks to pay high Illinois prices and deal with the Illinois tourist there, very rude. This place just feels like when I was a kid, home, warm and just… go check it out for yourself.

The waitresses are on it! Refilled our coffees without having to ask and friendly! Affordable prices and love their "one egg mess" that is similar to a skillet! Close to home and a great diner atmosphere! Made some upgrades recently too

My older son absolutely loves eating here! the wait staff are friendly, their food is alway up to par. they have an amazing breakfast they offer. Ive never had a bad time when coming here. I have been eating here for years now. I even had my first coffee time date with my now fiance here so thank you for providing the best service to your customers!

We visited this morning for breakfast, it was really nice. Great food and the staff was awesome. Our waitress was very friendly and chatted with us when she brought our bill. We will definitely stop back in.

The staff is friendly, fast, love their usual customers from what we could see on our first visit. Very attentive to everyone and helped each other and just wow, we cant wait to stop in again. Food was wonderful and basically around 10 bucks a plate

My wife and I went here to eat and the food is really good. We had an older lady that was serving us and she was the sweetest woman. We will totally be back again.
