We just got back from our weekend at Wolf Lake Ranch. We had the best time ever. We already rebooked for next year. The same people have been coming back to this wonderful hidden gem for 10, 20 years. The staff are out standing, food great and of course the number 1 reason to come is for the riding. Being with people who love to ride as much as I do was just fantastic. The trail rides were either a leisurely walk or an all out center through the beautiful woods. Check out their video. This place is AMAZING! My family of 5 went for the first time for a 3 day this past week and the only negative is IT WASN'T LONG ENOUGH. We are going back next year for sure for longer. I felt like I was home the entire time. The rooms are comfortable rustic cabins, so don't expect turn down service and a luxury spa, that is not the kind of place they are going for nor do they need to. The staff and owners were just so fantastic and really care to make sure guests have a great time. I am a picky eater and the food was fantastic, I had not one complaint. My kids (twin 12 year olds and 9 year old) always went for seconds and we had to hold them back from taking thirds. The riding could not be better. The trails are amazing and the horses are not your typical lazy trail horses, they actually move and are beautiful and very well kept and loved. There is lots of time to relax and still plenty of organized activities. The other guests were fantastic, everyone so friendly many who have been returning for 20+ years. We were told that people either love it or it isn't for them, but man oh man, now that I've found it I'll be one of the regulars! Thank you Wolf Lake Ranch for an unforgettable experience that I can't wait to experience again and again!

Went to the horse ranch with my grandma and cousins this weekend. My first time ever being there, but my gmas 4th. This place deserves 5 stars forsure. Fantastic food, fantastic staff, fantastic wranglers, good bunk houses and beds for accommodation. Another few perks are the lake when it's 90+ F out, the blow up tubes, the paddle boards, and just knowing and seeing the horses being taken care of so well.

Been visiting WLR annually with my family for past 12 years. No frills escape from daily grind - no TV, no internet, no phones. Variety of trail rides offered for all levels of riders, homemade family style dinners, quaint cabins, hayrides under the stars, evening campfires, kayaking and swimming in Wolf Lake. Great experience for a very reasonable cost. Pete and Marlene (and Cody, the ranch dog) are the best hosts! Highly recommend and always return.

Wonderful vacation! Family atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff, and delicious food!! The horses and grounds are well cared for and the trails are gorgeous. Can't get enough of this place. We're sad every time we have to leave. We always look forward to coming back each year. Like a home away from home. I can't say enough good things about this place. It's a little slice of heaven.

I've gone to Wolf Lake Ranch for 24 years. It's such a great place in a beautiful setting with activities for all ages.

Pete, Mar, the wranglers and kitchen staff treat you like family. And they have so many wonderful horses to choose from it's hard to decide! Looking forward to my next visit!!

This is a vacation like no other. We have been going to the WLR for 9 years. I first found the ranch when looking for a place where my younger children can have some freedom to move about while enjoying family time; a place to enjoy planned and unplanned activities, structure as well as free time. Always something to do...and not do, if you choose. The cabins are rustic...don't expect TVs or wifi. Great food, lake fun, amazing riding, activities, bonfires, incredible star gazing, freedom and, most of all, fantastic families who return year after year make this a hidden gem in MI.

My family has been visiting for 20 years, and I look forward to coming back each year. The rooms are clean, comfortable and simple. The staff are warm and kind, and the food is great! It is a rustic gem, and I'm looking forward to spending 20 more summers there!

Wolf Lake Ranch is always a wonderful week for us. There is nothing like cantering through the woods surrounding the ranch. A dip in Wolf Lake cools you down in the afternoon, and I always eat too much at the family style meals. Wonderful family friendly place!

A hidden treasure in Michigan's beautiful Manistee National Forest! Wonderful people, beautifully cared-for horses, fabulous home-cooked food and a lake. Ride, relax and enjoy family-oriented activities. Most folks that come, come back year after year. (It's been ten years for us, and counting.) Truly the most relaxing place on earth.

Great weekend with these folks! Rustic clean cabins, great food, fun and friendly staff - and you can't beat the price for an all inclusive deal...add in great riding and knowledgeable wranglers and a beautiful lake and gorgeous scenery - nothing left to ask for! We love "the ranch". We have been going for 22 Years. Now our children are taking their families. Owners, staff and horses are the best!!!! Best riding and trails!

Family and friends have been coming here for 34 years and look to continue for many more years!! This is the best riding ever. The only technology you need here is your smart phone camera.

I love this place! I went her for vacation as a child for ten years and the community they build is something special. Kids make friends and are excited for the planned activities, the rides, and camp fires. I cannot wait to take my family to experience Wolf Lake Ranch to get away from the city, to get away from technology (they have access to everything you need if you need to be online), and to spend quality time outdoors creating memories that last a lifetime.

I was there in the 70's for "dude" ranch. The details wouldn't fit so I'll just say life-changing. I still have a free weekend coming I won at casino night.

I took my grandson here for the three day package. We had a great time! Everyone was super helpful and friendly.

I highly recommend this venue.

Relaxing and peaceful from the first moment you arrive. Staff is friendly and the scenery is beautiful. The perfect place to get away.

i just loved how the americans and ranglers (if thats how you spell it) just chuck you in the water yet it us fun but i got out of it by little chance and a staff member there called Donnie kept on calling me "ButterCup" and i just found it funny yet i did try get my revenge but didnt work and i rode a horse called brandy and she was just outstanding even if she did trip and nearly make me fall off, i would recomend it to everyone including people who dont know how to horse ride because they do do some amazing western lessons there and before i went western i was riding british and i find the western riding better and much easy than british, yet i would give pete and all the staff a 5 star and would recomend it to anyone and everyone
