I stayed at the campground for a little over a week. I wanted to stay somewhere reasonably priced with showers, this was the perfect place for that. The bathrooms are very private and possibly the nicest I've seen at a campground. The sites are very spacious, flat, and clean. I wanted to stay someplace I could easily do day trips around the state for the duration of my stay. I visited Grand Rapids, Traverse City, Ludington, and Leland. I never had to drive more than 1.5 hour, which was perfect for me. For most of my stay I was the only one in the non-electric tent area. As a solo female camper this was both nice and a little scary. Luckily the owners house is close by which really gave me peace of mind.

The owners Mel & Adam were super accommodating, but not overbearing. They stopped by once or twice a day to make sure I was set for the day or night. They went above and beyond multiple times during my stay. The store is currently under construction so they don't have ice for sale yet, but when I called asking about ice at 10pm they gave me a couple of ziploc baggies of their own ice so I could make it through the night, without running to the store. They also helped me get my flat tire off, filled it for me once I got it patched, and helped me get it back on. I feel like most campgrounds would just say "sorry about your luck" but they didn't even think twice about it.

Although I did really enjoy the privacy it would be nice to see more people there the next time I camp there.

We could not have been more blessed by Mel & Adam, the owners, last weekend. Unfortunately -- or fortunately -- we were kicked out of Ann's Putman Lake Campground shortly after setting up our rigs and attempting to figure out an electrical problem (which ended up being at their electrical pole). The owner came to our sites and started harassing my husband and son-in-law over very strange things ("Your awning is too close the [empty] campsite next to yours -- that's RUDE!" "You are RUDE for interrupting me [as I rant about the electrical pole that doesn't work and I'm charging you for]!" "You are not a good fit here -- you need to LEAVE!") (I could go on with more details about that horrible experience, but this is supposed to be about North Country, so I won't.)

With four children ages six - 18 months, we packed up our two RVs and called North Country Store and Campground on the recommendation of a family member who had recently stayed there. It was now after their normal business hours, but Mel and Adam met us at the front office and promptly escorted us to adjoining sites. They were WONDERFUL. Our littles were once again all smiles and squeals as we played on the safe and ample playground while our fellas set up.

The campground was clean, and the sites were well-spaced and quiet (as far as campers go -- M-37 was not really quiet, but it certainly didn't bother us). The public restrooms and showers were also clean and well-cared for. If you are into ATVing, this would be an appealing campground because of the trails that connect to the site.

Most importantly to us, we felt safe and welcome. That's all we were looking for, and Mel and Adam went so far above and beyond to make us feel that way. Thank you!

Owners are very friendly. Nice and clean campground, restrooms and showers were especially well-kept. Tent sites are flat and clean but try to get a site further away from 37. Only drawback is road noise.

Adam and his wife (new owners) are just the best. They are accommodating and friendly. I love this place because it has direct access to OHV trails and electric hookups for our travel trailer. We have been here 3 times this year already and its always great. If we stay up a little late and laugh and listen to music we don't get yelled at lol. Laid back, but respectful of everyone!

The owners are nice and the bathrooms were really clean. Pick a campsite away from the road.
