Step Inn

This place was so nice to bring my kids (ages 11 & 13)! The food was excellent and fresh!! Even those picky eaters of mine loved it. The service was great!! When they found out we were from out of town, they even suggested local attractions my kids would like. The decor is creative and fun. Would definitely recommend.

These Californian Refugees know how to run a restaurant. Very cool spot, food with Herculean portion sizes, and relatively inexpensive. We dined in but saw a lot of people snag take out and take it to the brewery of the park etc. Highly recommend.

Small town cafe with big taste. Our group of 4 were all impressed with the quality and tastes. The sourdough bread was over the top. Definitely a 5 star place, but I will admit the coffee was really weak and lacked taste.

Well, it's back to the good old Step Inn! serving daily, 8-2 pm. Menu is just about the same but with more, even better stuff... Much cleaner and newer looking too!!!

Fantastic food at more than reasonable prices, superb service with a smile! Never ending coffee always filled to the brim piping hot. Pumpkin pancakes melted on the tongue with awesome omelettes. Servers were still attentive despite being busy bees with all of the customers. Nice to have this family run restaurant back in business!

This place was awesome! I got the California Refugee Burrito—the guac was SO FRESH. Everything was just that—FRESH. The salsa was awesome. My Mom had the Carne Asada Street tacos that looked equally fantastic and she said they were delicious. Had a really cool vibe, too. Highly recommend!

Hours are 8-2. Breakfast menu had lots of choices. Courtney the owner waitresses and is very nice. Portions are big enough to fill u up! Had a nice breakfast! Very satisfied!

Opened 11/1/23 under new management. Exceptional, warm and friendly staff and service. Delicious food at reasonable prices. Recommended by a local legend. Interesting historical photos of Cheboygan on the walls. Staff was knowledgeable about some of them. Something for everyone! Will eat here again if in the area.

Love the bright colors and fun atmosphere. Menu is on the wall with Big foot on the run. Staff is friendly. Prices $16 - $9. Update the Mexican place is no longer in business.

AMAZING! meat wether chicken or beef is seasoned perfectly, they make the salsa too! The nachos?! Big...bib big and delicious with plenty of meat, cheese ect....bring a buddy for this one! The server/ cashier was friendly and the cook ( her husband) is back there killin it and is also friendly. Go there...... your not going to leave hungry or disappointed!!!

Glad their back, only thing is our first time in since reopening and waitress put gravy on my food when I ask for it on the side. But other than that little mishap, everything was wonderful.

Awesome food, terrific service and great conversation! Know that it is a Mexican restaurant. The menus for breakfast are old. Trying something new like this for breakfast was amazing!

We stopped by on the way to the brewery and got a chicken quesadilla and beef nachos. The food was plenty, a good price, and delivery quickly. We really enjoyed the chicken and the nachos were great. The staff was very nice and they offer us some spicy pickled carrots. We have not had this since our last trip out west. I wish the food was a bit more spicy but I don’t blame them since most people around here think black pepper is spicy. We will go back.

They are back! Cheboygan's lucky to have the old-fashioned Step Inn again. We had great food and service! We will definitely be enjoying this place over and over.

Great place for a good local breakfast. Stop in for a bite in the oldest restaurant in Cheboygan. Food was delicious and the service was friendly. Price was fair. Will absolutely go back if we ever go back to Cheboygan.

Last time I went to the Step Inn (last year) it was a (at least) breakfast place that the owner wanted to sell. This year I see she succeeded, and it is now a Mexican restaurant. Good food, friendly staff -- and open on Labor Day.

This place rules! The food is not only great, its made fresh. Tortillas were perfect, carne asada was perfect and its more than enough.

Very clean as well. Definitely coming back whenever I am in town!
