Zak has been going to the Pequot Lakes Animal Hospital since he was a tiny pup after arriving in Minnesota over a year ago from Missouri; he’s now a little over a year old. He LOVES all of the staff there and gives abundant kisses and hugs. We’ve never had a dog who is that excited to go see the doctor! That aside, we chose this clinic as we were looking for a holistic approach to veterinary medicine and we have been very pleased. All of the doctors and staff are very caring and highly trained in their profession. They are very thorough at Zak’s visits with his needs and care's and discuss everything with us as well as answer any questions. We can’t say enough great things about the Pequot Lakes Animal Hospital - they are all top notch and we have no plans to seek care for Zak elsewhere. Awesome folks!!!

Overall it was an good experience. Reasonable price for a senior feline wellness exam when considering the convenience of not having to travel to Baxter for a fairly quick exam. Just as heads up, a nail trim costs the same ($15+tax), whether your cat is declawed (front paws) or not but at least it’s done professionally.

The staff at Pequot Lakes Animal Hospital are compassionate and caring about the animals and their owners. Dr Rachel provided holistic care for my dachshund who had a cancer diagnosis. The care she provided allowed my pet to have a healthy, happy quality of life for the remaining year of her life. The genuine care and knowledge provided was thorough, personal, and reassuring during a difficult time. I highly recommend this clinic!

Pequot Lakes Animal Hospital is great! They have taken great care of both of our older dogs. They are very quick to get back to us when we call with questions. We have always been able to get an appointment quickly. The vets, techs, and all the staff are very nice and caring. One of our dogs has had surgery here, and everything went great with the surgery. I'm so glad when we moved to the area we went to here first.

New to the area and needed a new vet for my dog. Was very pleased with customer service, cleanliness and professionalism. Dr. Rachel took the time to answer all our many questions. I feel like Charlie is in excellent hands.

This is my second 5-star review for PLAH, but the first one under this account. Ron and I have been happy clients here for several years. A couple of days ago I saw our 10 year-old cat Spencer with two pieces of what had been a long narrow ribbon. I estimated he had swallowed around 5 inches. On the advice of other vets in the past I’ve used a hydrogen peroxide solution to make our cats vomit with successful results. When I immediately called to get that mixture, Kalli said that current information discourages hydrogen peroxide for cats because it can cause gastric problems. She checked with Dr. Blake Setness to confirm that, and then said I could bring Spencer in for the safer procedure. Even though I wanted to use the peroxide at home so he would vomit as soon as possible, I did not want to risk hurting Spencer, so my husband Ron and I took him in. We waited while they administered the drug. He had not vomited after an hour and nothing was seen on X-rays except food in his stomach. Dr. Setness said the ribbon might be bunched up with that and perhaps pass right through him, but we would need to wait. After further guidance we took him home. An hour and a half later the entire 5 inches came up along with the food. It was not bunched up, but was still linear and so may have impacted his digestive tract for the worse if they had not treated him at PLAH. We are thankful that Kalli and Dr. Setness informed us about the possible adverse effects of hydrogen peroxide. That afternoon I found online medical reports about unfortunate results with at-home hydrogen peroxide on cats, and we felt like we’d dodged a cannonball. The next day, Spencer ate in the morning but then refused food. I called, spoke to Brianna, and she followed up with instructions from Dr. Setness. Along with Dr. Setness, Kalli and Brianna, thanks go to Brittany and Jess who personally took care of us and kept us informed. Spencer is back to normal and we are beyond relieved. I’m glad I recognized a negative situation and acted quickly, but without the awesome staff it might not have turned out so well.

I cannot say enough positive words to express my appreciation for the care, concern and accommodation PLAH exhibited when I had to make the difficult decision to put Simon, my companion of 16 years down. They made a concession for me to drop him off over my lunch so they could work him into their afternoon schedule to do some diagnostics. Dr. Rachel made two calls, leaving me messages both times since I was busy treating patients and also reaching out to talk with my wife. When it was determined that the best course of action was to Euthanize Simon we had to hustle to make it back to the clinic that night once I was done with patients and before they closed since we were leaving the next day early in the morning to catch our Thanksgiving flight. When we arrived, it just didn’t feel right to have “abandoned” him at the clinic all afternoon “alone” without us and to show up for what felt like a callous and cold quick goodbye and put him down. So, when I asked if we could at least keep him for one last night and bring him back in the morning before heading out Dr Rachel agreed knowing she would have to squeeze us in between her morning meeting and before starting her full slate of surgeries. This act of kindness shows how thoughtful Dr Rachel and this clinic is and will always be so deeply appreciated. I will forever be grateful for the final snuggles you see below and cannot recommend them highly enough!

I was at our cabin when I noticed my cat, Harlow, was showing signs of a possible UTI. Never needing a vet while at the cabin (and all of them being an hour from me) I wasn't sure who to call. I made the right choice calling this clinic. It was almost closing time when I called. They got us in the next day. Dr. Blake (and the entire staff ) were great. They didn't rush, the Dr. provided excellent information and care. Besides the necessary antibiotic, he gave me a natural remedy to help Harlow with her inflammation and pain. Everyone was so friendly. The rates were reasonable. I really appreciate that they offer Western and alternative care. They created a very nice memorial garden with areas to sit. That's a special and thoughtful touch. I was so pleased with everything that within a few hours of the appointment I had shared my experience, and referred the clinic to three people. I'll happily continue to do so. Thank you so much for an all around great experience!

Please support clinics like this. There's so many expensive franchised clinics now. Where the service and care aren't nearly as friendly or personal.

My kitten had a terrible eye infection and I couldn't get in anywhere. I've been to Pequot Animal hospital before and they are always so nice. They were able to squeeze us in the same day. 15 minutes in and out and we got the antibiotics our kitten needed. They even called us later that week to check in on our kitten. Very caring people. I trust them with all my fur babies.

Very friendly and work with you. My dog loves the laser therapy that they offer. Keeps him off medication with arthritis. They have gotten us in same day or talked to us over phone after hours when our pets needed urgent care. Perfect location also. Have later hours on Mondays too.

I love that my dogs, Daisy and Swayze, go crazy with excitement when they enter Pequot Lakes Animal Hospital because they know this is a happy place. I love that Dr. Deb listens to my concerns and shares information and ideas so we can develop the best health and wellness plan for my dogs that includes conventional and holistic therapies, medicine, and nutrition. Her communication is always concise, complete, warm, and compassionate. At each visit I learn something new from her perspective, knowledge, and expertise. If you want your furry friend to have the best, and most professional care go to this clinic/hospital. I drive all the way from Wadena. It is worth it! The treatment is alternative and conventional. Dr. Brown and Dr. Blake are a healing team for your little friend. This clinic/hospital is "human-grade " clean and very high tech. The technicians are also highly qualified. If you want the highest and best care for your pet this is where you will find it.

The most amazing vets and staff! Very caring and compassionate! Welcoming atmosphere. Even when the front desk is crazy busy, they take the time to acknowledge you and smile and make you feel welcomed and at ease. The veterinarians are excellent. They truly care about your animals and take the time to listen to you and address any concerns. I drive over an hour and it is so completely worth it!
