Vijaya Vilas - South Indian Cuisine

My first time visiting an Indian restaurant with some Indian friends who really know their southern Indian cuisine and I have to say, the food was amazing, so freshly made to order, with the nicest caring service and chefs. Would recommend this place for a fantastic authentic Indian dining experience. Looks like the middle of nowhere location, but you find a gem of a restaurant!

Very authentic , fresh , tasty, high quality food in NJ. I have tried other so called premium restaurants in NJ but this restaurant beats in food quality and taste. I haven't seen any use of the preservatives or food colors. I have tried both dine and take out. Even better, if you call them 3 hrs ahead, you can even order the items that are not on menu and they will prepare it. The only con is when we ordered take out, they gave in foam and plastic containers, I would rather prefer paper/ environment friendly ones and am ok if they charge extra for these containers.

Really authentic food made with high quality organic ingredients. They put extra care in cooking fresh so the orders take time to prepare but well worth it! We didn’t have any food hangover that is normal at typical Indian restaurants. We have become loyal customers and highly recommend the goat curry!

Authentic South Indian food made to order! We found Vijay Vilas through a casual google search for Indian restaurants. Being Southern Indians, we have very high bar for good South Indian food. We also prefer less oily and less spicy food. We found a perfect restaurant for ourselves. Very authentic taste, they listen to your specifications and cater to that and above all very genuinely pleasant owners who have great pride in the quality of their food. We have tried vegetarian and chicken dishes for ourselves several times and haven't been disappointed. For Thanksgiving, we hosted a few families and ordered food in bulk with them for the first time with a short notice. They did a great job to our specifications and at a very nominal price. Our guests enjoyed the starters medhu vadai and onion pakoda, which was perfectly done and not oily. We also got Guthi Vankaya which was well liked by everyone as well. Overall, very happy to be able to find a genuine South Indian home made food.

If you want really authentic south indian food, home cooked and fresh - check this place out. Family run place, cooked with a big heart and lots of warmth. Try the filter coffee, parotta korma, and their meals - you won’t be dissapointed!

We had lunch yesterday afternoon, with our surprise, the food was excellent.
I had rava dosa and my wife ordered Mysore masala. The food was cooked with perfection and care with no over powering oil or ingredients, just balanced. Enjoyed the conversation with the owner. It appears that he is passionate and care for the quality. We wish him best, need quality places like Vijaya.

We had Tava masala dosa Mystoee masala dosa and Parotta Kuruma. The most authentic and tasty food I have ever had in any Indian restaurant. It is a family run restaurant and the owners treated us like family members. I highly recommend everyone to try this place if you are looking for the most authentic south Indian dishes.

A friend and myself went to the restaurant in the evening. We had Beach sundal, Bajji and south indian Coffee. It reminded us the days of back home authentic food from South India. Food was made fresh and tasted delicious. Coffee reminded me the Chennai filter coffee. ordered take out of veg briyani, kuli paniyaram and veg kothu parotta, all of them tasted very authentic and tasty. You could feel the quality of the food is very high with quality ingredients. Highly recommended.

Fantastic food. Ordered take out veg meals and this was as close to home made as I ever felt. One meal was enough for 2 and the take out pizza box made it so easy to carry. Nandri sir. Note that place is slightly hard to find, entrance is not on SouthBranch Road.

I enjoy everything from Vijaya Vilas, from authentic food, to the taste of Mudari and chetanad cusine fresh and home cooked. Both Vijaya and Sikar take personal interest in welcoming their customers, and serve homestyle dishes with fresh coffee. If you enjoy home made vadas, idlly, dosas along with home made biryanis this is a great local spot. I hope you enjoy Vijaya Vilas.

Third time visiting this place. It's near my YMCA so figured i'd stop by. The food is absolutely delicious. The Thali dish was super authentic and I loved every single item on it. Veg biryani was nice and spicy just like I asked.

Food is excellent. Some folks have mentioned about the price.Well the food is pricey because the ingredients are organic and home made spices. You get what you pay for.
