Never have I ever been out here. Visited for the first time this past month. I’m amazed I’ve never known about this place. It’s an easy walk on a board walk that loops the whole preserve. It seems pretty accessible. The views are pretty cool. I’d definitely come again. Highly recommend you check it out.

A friend brought me here and I had no idea what I was missing out on ! This place was awesome, the walking through the wetlands and seeing so many different plants going up the tower and being able to just see so much nature and enjoy the quiet was great. We went like an hour or so before sunset so we didn't have a whole lot of time but we definitely enjoyed it for sure !

The weather was perfect, the views were endless, and we practically had the place to ourselves! We only saw a few people the whole time we were there. It's an easy walk along a boardwalk, and we explored both structures. We saw so many different kinds of birds and some huge dragonflies, too. It was very peaceful being surrounded by the tall grasses blowing slightly in the breeze and listening to the birds all around. This place is just a hop, skip, and a jump off the freeway exit, and it feels like you're in a whole different world. 5 stars and 2 thumbs up!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐👍🏻👍🏻

Great place to walk the boardwalk or bird watch depending on the time of year. My kids also enjoy finding and catching frogs. Seems like there is something new each time we go.

Great location to walk and explore. Early morning at sunrise is my favorite. Parking lot is small so be prepared to not find parking. Morning time at sunrise you will have no problem parking.

My wife brought us here tonight. We didn’t let the drizzle of rain stop us! It was beautiful 🤩You’re at peace when you’re here. Makes you feel one with Mother Nature.

This is a wonderful place for a quick nature walk. The boardwalk is well maintained and there are amazing 360 degree views. If you go at the right time of year, you will see many different birds, and it's interesting to see them in their environment. It's peaceful and clean. At certain times, (common) there will be bugs, so bug spray is recommended.

One of our favorite spots to walk and view nature and the mountains in all their splendor. Many different bird species and wooden structures remind me of a cool scene from an apocalyptic style open movie set. Love it here and the peace found. I love to walk with my sweetie here. ❤❤

This place was way cool! The walk was really nice and peaceful and the sound of birds was really nice. The fall colors made the grass golden, so my wife and I went to the top of the tower on the far side of the walkway and just stared for a long while.
There are displays along the walkway filled with info and fun graphics.
Overall, a really nice place worth the time.

Visited at the beginning of November, before the snow hit. A nice easy looped boardwalk hike. Very beautiful when I went and not very crowded either. The structures were fun to look at and climb. I enjoyed how peaceful it was and would come back again. Saw some birds and it was a windy, blustery day. 5/5.

Great short loop almost all of it is on a boardwalk path. Out in the southwest area is a large tower with views of the valley, mountains, and Antelope Island. I saw a hen pheasant, a heron, and lots of mallards. It's just starting to warm up and there were already a few mosquitoes. On the south end and a couple hundred yards to the east is a historical brick survey monument.

The shorelands of the great salt lake are so peaceful and beautiful.
First time I’ve seen north harrier and how they hunting, also there is a lot of great bees and some small birds. You can walk by on the wooden tracks.

GSL Shorelands Preserve- great place! It's a loop so you can go either left or right but if you go left the signs will be oriented the correct way, otherwise coming from the right will make some of them on the ground look upside down. Not a big deal though. There is no shade around the entire thing, so plan accordingly. There's a little when you get to the tower/lookout at the half way point. The entire loop is a wood boardwalk, so it's stroller friendly, just a little bumpy. The tower/lookout at the halfway point has a ramp that goes around the tower a little at a very minimal incline (and there's some shade there) but if you want to go to the very top to look out over the preserve you have to climb some stairs. Or you can just go right past the tower/lookout and skip it completely. It was a fun walk though. Mostly tall grass on either side of the boardwalk, but a few sections had the swampy, wetland areas so if you have little littles that might go too close and fall off just hold their hand or put them in the stroller at those parts. We went with 2 young kids and a baby in a stroller and did just fine. We went in August, but want to go back later in the fall when the woollybear caterpillars are out.

The Nature Conservancy’s Preserve is tremendous. I highly recommend visiting the series of wetlands in the early morning, 8-10 am. At this time, you will hear and see countless species of birds and herpetofauna. Wear your sunblock and pack a water bottle, the walk around the perimeter is in direct sunlight.
