W.Whitman Books

One of my favorite used bookstores! Douglas noticed my interest in a particular subject area and showed me books that i could purchase which I did. There is a wide variety of subjects from which to browse and a warm atmosphere in which to do so. I look forward to ongoing visits!

Fantastic local bookstore, very friendly owner, and there's a reading area with art on display in the back room.

Small book store with a great collection of new and used books. And some gifts, art, and other interesting items. A fun diversion from online bookstores.

Wonderful and wide book selections!

My husband and I heard about W. Whitman Books in Middleburg, NY, so we just had to go visit.
It is a wonderful used bookstore with a nice variety of topics and reasonable prices.
My only complaint is lack of Wi-Fi. I use a database for my booklist and had to go outside to connect to the internet.
Otherwise, enjoy browsing!

The owner was very helpful in telling me where I could take books that he couldnt take and not have to throw them in the garbage. Thank you

Unfortunately, this store is not "dealer friendly." They do not work with other book dealers. I was told all the prices are well below everyone else's prices online and they will not negotiate...this turns out to be false. Their prices are right at retail. I have a tax ID # and was not even asked to see it. I gladly paid the tax on a small purchase and will not be back. All other dealers should avoid going here.
