Better Half Family Diner

Me and my girlfriend came here last year in august we are from Pittsburgh we came to this dinner and it was a great experience yummy food and even better hospitality
But now the place is condemned??? What happened we miss this place it left such a good impression that we wanted to come back but unfortunately they aren’t here anymore

Visited twice during a stay at Cedar Point and had a pair of delightful breakfast experiences, in large part to server Chelsea who was an absolute bright ray of sunshine. It seemed everyone else in the place were regulars because of the family vibe and banter between the staff and the customers. First visit was during a rush and Chelsea did her best to cheerfully flow through the room and give each guest attention, so I can forgive the few extra minutes it took for our food to reach our table. Second visit during a quieter time definitely delivered timely service. If you are a fan of local gems like we are, this beautifully broken rundown little diner might be worth a visit. If you require polish or you're in a hurry, maybe this isn't the right fit for you. Come for the vibes. For me, it was just a joy to be in that room, listen to the people and feel like part of the neighborhood.

I really want everyone to know that this little diner may not call a lot of attention to itself but what you get there is guaranteed to satisfy your hunger.
We were looking for a breakfast place to go eat at during our stay in Sandusky since we were visiting Cedar Point so we wanted to go eat at a place that would give us the right start to our day.
And we are happy that we found this diner. The waitress who was working there always welcomed us with a smile. We got refills on our drinks. And our food came to our table hot and fresh. My favorite food to order was the pancakes they were very filling.
I hope we get the opportunity to eat here again. And if you are ever in town to visit Cedar Point go get your day started with a good breakfast here.

Looking for comfort food from friendly staff in a non pretentious atmosphere full of local flavor, this is it. Better Half is simply a comfortable place for breakfast. Very glad to have found this place during a visit back from Kelley’s Island.

Fantastic food with excellent service. Old school joint with quality eats and the best service you'll find in the county. Hardest working ladies I have seen in a while. Worth a trip for any meal. Had the best tuna melt I've had in long time. Gunna go back for breakfast soon!

I love this place! We stopped in for breakfast while on vacation and it was so good we came back the next day. The biscuits and gravy are delicious and Jackie our server was so sweet and hard working. Definitely check this place out! Very good prices and even better food

We found this locally owned gem while visiting Sandusky from the Detroit area. We looked up the Google reviews and all the others before this review are not wrong. Friendly staff, good food, with great prices! Fed a family of 3 breakfast for less than $25! Don't let the outside deceive you....this is a great find that you will not be disappointed checking out!

We had blueberry and chocolate chip pancakes, a traditional and a vegetarian omelette. All were delicious and quite inexpensive to boot. They must use a lot of butter because they were surprisingly rich and filling.

We ate here on our arrival to Cedar Point somewhat out of necessity. When ate here upon our exit of Cedar Point because we enjoyed the first breakfast so much we wanted it again. We got the takeout so that we could eat at the marina that is close by.

Not only was the food good, but the service went above and beyond. Ensuring our every need was met and that the order was just right.

Better Half lives up to its name. It really brightened our trip. Thank you!

Oh my gosh their food here was amazing! Such a cute little diner and the waitress was so nice. I loved their homemade cheese and broccoli soup. Then their hamburgers are cooked so well! Even the cheesecake was amazing! Come eat here if you're ever in the area, it's so good

Came here from out of town and was very well pleased. Some of the best sausage gravy I have had in a long time. The server (sorry I do not remember her name) was very welcoming and attentive.

This place is fantastic. Food was excellent and service was great. Will definitely be our go to anytime we're in the area.

We stopped in with two other couples while visiting for the weekend. It was a busy Sunday morning, but we were greeted by a friendly face, and offered coffee right away. It was a great experience, and the food was really good. The atmosphere was great, people walked in and said hi to others they knew, we felt very comfortable. Waitress was awesome!!! Would definitely go back.

We were in the area doing laundry as our campground did not offer laundry. Someone in the laundrymat recommended this family dining while we were waiting. Fast service with large portions. We had taco salad with homemade chips and grilled liver and onions. My husband said was the best grilled liver he has had!

Very pleasant young lady took my order..food was freshly prepared and plated nicely. Ordered 2 jumbo shrimp dinners and a chef salad. My parents were very pleased with their meal. Definitely coming back.

Wonderful people, food and service! Been coming here since I was a kid! I hope they stay open for many years to come.

We were in the area visiting for spring break and found this little hole in the wall diner. The waitress was amazing and took time to pose for pictures for a school project for the child with us. He ordered grilled cheese/fries which he devoured and that doesn't happen often because he's incredibly picky. My partner and I split a bowl of French onion soup and a Philly style quesadilla. The soup had a good taste and was loaded with cheese. The quesadilla was excellent. Tender and juicy beef, lots of onions, mushrooms, peppers and cheese. My partner and I were very happy with our choices.

We came in two Mornings In a row. Visiting kalahari for a convention. The ribeye was out of this world. It takes a bit of time. Bit it was worth the wait. The chocolate chip pancakes were huge and had such a wonderful flavor. I didn't even need syrup. Amber and her trainer. I'm sorry I forgot your name were so sweet. Very hospitable and there to get you whatever you need. Next time we visit we will be back!!! Thanks everyone. Hats off to the chef!
