A wonderful restaurant and bar. Great food with great service. The murals on the walls are really nice and there is a story for each. Ask your waitress. Sunday is a Thanksgiving buffet. Thursday's it's a great Mexican buffet. The interior is fantastic and leads you to an enjoyable atmosphere. Three years later, 2022, had great food and excellent drinks and service in the lounge portion of the restaurant.

We had an early dinner here, and it was very chill. The staff was attentive and friendly, the booth was comfortable, and the food was great. If you don't try the green chile mashed potatoes, you are not living. I don't know if I can ever go back to plain mashed!

Amazing food and service! Highly recommend the Blue Swallow Margarita (recommended by our motel, the Blue Swallow) and the chips and Queso! portions are good sized, especially the combo plate! Definitely worth a stop for some food or a drink (or even dessert, we opted for the chimichanga cheesecake!)

Awesome little place, crazy cool interior paintings… people who actually were customers in the past painted on the walls. The Lizard Lounge’s dance floor was original wood! Servers were knowledgeable about the history!
Hubby had a burger, I had wings! The food was good.

My wife and I were driving between Omaha and Tucson several times and Tucumcari is right in there middle. We always made sure to stop here for dinner and cocktails. The southwest cuisine is fantastic. I think the tamales are my favorite so far, but in looking forward to trying more things the next time we drive through.

Went there on the recommendation from The Blue Swallow. Food was great, servers were over whelmed due to Father's day customers. As we waited couldn't help but notice the pictures painted on the walls of the restaurant. They are very life like and will make you think twice.

We are driving through from Tampa Bay to Moab, Utah and this is our first time out west. There couldn't have been a better place to welcome us. From iconic decor to pleasant staff to great food, it checked every box! This will be a staple from now on.

Always a good time and a great martini, awesome decor!! Came back with the new owner/menu, the burger was very good and the service was, as always, absolutely stellar.

Route 66 aficionado. Stopped for breakfast here.
Excellent food, great service.
However I think the murals just might surpass the meal. Outstanding, definitely worth stopping by to see.

Traveling back home from N.M. to OKC we stopped here for dinner and the next morning for breakfast. The food was great. We had the mexican dinners and mexican breakfast with the green Chillies.
The severs were very friendly and informative about Tucumcaris history, and about the artist who painted the artwork. The artist painted the people sitting at the booths and his work can be seen on the businesses around town.
Very worth the time and money to eat at this place.
Talk to your server, they love to answer your questions about the history of the restaurant and town.

Traveling Route 66 & not only is the town of Tucumcari charming but the Pow Wow Restaurant & Lizard Lounge was a great stop. We rolled into town around 8:30pm & these was one of the only spots open until 10pm serving food & drinks.

The nachos low down...
Crispy homemade corn chips
Beans homemade
Good flavor & perfect to share!!

Enjoyed the artwork & 50’s/60’s music playing in the restaurant.

Awesome experience.
Actually went to Dels Restaurant to have a couple drinks with dinner. Found out Dels no longer serves alcohol.
Called down to Pow Wow first to make sure they still served. They said yes and even arranged for our ride to the restaurant.
Awesome service and some of the best food ever.
Drinks are awesome and people are very friendly. Restaurant and lounge is very clean and neat with an awesome decor.
We recommend highly to anyone who ventures this way!!!!

Friday night 6:30. Busy but not packed. Seemed well staffed. By 7pm it was packed.
Ordered huevos Rancheros even though it wasn’t on the dinner menu.
Nice experience and great food.

Great place for late night eats. It is a bit dark from my outside but the inside is fun. They are under new management and have a limited menu. The Quesadilla was wonderful and the Frito Chilli Pie with Red Chili was outstanding. The fresh hot chips and salsa were the real deal with just enough heat and amazing flavor. We look forward to our next time.

We came in late and were looking for a cocktail and a light dinner. This place had the most excellent family atmosphere. We laughed and joked like we had know each other for years! We found out half way through our dinner it was opening night. If you are passing through stop by. Tell Chris we said hi! Our waitress was the absolute best. Praying for her health and family!

We really enjoyed our road side lunch. We really enjoyed our visit to the cafe. We are road tripping with our motorcycle the whole Route 66. It looks like the motel connected to the restaurant might not me really operating any more. The pool is now a park for the dog? Great lunch.
