Philly Down South

Philly Down South is as cute as it gets. Food truck next to a building, beside a Museum parking lot. All the fun and hype is created bc of the fun atmosphere, great breezy outdoor spot, live band, and full drinking space. Packed every evening, so get there early or prepare for a wait. Owner is the kindest man. 1 of the waitresses was unkind to us and looked to be kind to others. Ill go ahead and be optimistic and say, she had to have been stressed. Besides that interaction, the food was fantastic. Great job to the whole idea. You are winning in life.

Great place to eat after the Elliott museum. Had the Pineapple Express with teriyaki chicken. It was awesome! Service was friendly and efficient. Eat in a tiki hut. Bar available.

Almost don't want to post because it feels like a secret. Good food, fun music in the Parking lot of a museum. Loved it.

Had a delicious cheesesteak here...will definitely revisit when time allows...woul recommend to all...note: its a tiki hut...all outdoors.

This place is fantastic! We ordered cheeseburgers and couldn't have been happier. The staff was pleasant and welcoming. We love the live music they had happening! The menu has lots of Philly type of food available! I highly recommend Philly Down South!!

I got the Philly. Wifey got the bourbon steak philly. And regular French fries. All very good. Next time, I'm getting the oarmesan cheese fries. We saw a band called homebrewed, who were excellent!

We were st Philly Down South for Burnt Biscuit. Took over an hour to get a drink. And it really was not the waitress ' problem...just not enough help. There was a runner delivering meals ..thin. glasses short hair....what a trooper..running all night!!! Great job!!

My wife and I loved this spot right next to the beach! Jim the owner is a great guy and very personable! Being from south jersey and philly, we know cheesesteaks, wiz and cheese fries. Philly down south was a slice of heaven and home for us!

Loved this place. Good food and Triple Threat band was great. Going back soon.

Had a great time Saturday night, sitting outside in a lovely breeze (even in August!) under a Tiki hut. Came to see the Sierra band, which we love and follow. Feel-good music (not excessively loud, like most bands), dancing, good food, and awesome drinks. Loved their house drink, the Philly Spritzer. Fun older crowd. Will be back!
Note: the place closes early, at 9 pm.

Absolutely perfect place. Food was phenomenal, it’s all outdoor seating so it’s gonna be hot even with the multiple fans. Prices were fair for a beach location. Free live music most nights.

Our first experience will not be our last. This Cafe/restaurant is a “find”. Jim, the owner, is most welcoming to his patrons! We were there last evening for a Christmas dinner/ show.
From start to finish, we thoroughly enjoyed. The dinner was excellent, ambience delightful!

I've been here for dinner four times now. Every time it is excellent and everyone we've brought here absolutely loves it. Nice atmosphere, wonderful service, delicious well spiced food, and good prices. This restaurant is in the Elliott Museum so for lunch you can enter through the museum. But at dinnertime the museum is closed so you have to enter through the back parking lot. You'll see a sign on the door. It's well worth it and so terrific, we will be back often.

Food is really great and the owner seems to truly care about the food quality and customer!

Great food. Cheese steak greasy and yummy like it should be. Waitress gave me wet wipes from her personal stash! Plus live music on Friday nites too! We will def be back!

We are from the Philadelphia suburbs and have been wanting to check this place out for awhile since we visit the area frequently, and now that the tiki bar opened we had the perfect reason to stop in. Great variety of Philly style cheesesteaks that reflected the taste and style we are accustomed to. Took our two kids and the ambiance was a family friendly lowkey chill with a lighted hut and impeccable grass carpet and full service bar. Service was on par and food above expectations. Will be a regular stop on our annual visits!

The Elliot Museum is a fun place to spend the day and an additional treat is the Philly Down South Cafe located on he second floor. It is bright and open with interesting antique clocks decorating the walls.

This is not your typical “food court” that you would expect. It’s a very nice restaurant with a wide beer selection and great food choices. I really like their Ribeye Steak sandwich.

So far we have only been there for lunch, but plan to return to try dinner. They serve dinner on Friday and Saturday nights. You just tell the front desk that you are there just to eat upstairs and there is no fee to enter. If you are in a hurry, they have a food truck located in the parking lot for quick takeout.

I went there with a large group and everyone was totally accommodating and went out of their way to take care of our party. The food was delicious and the music was wonderful. Totally wonderful experience everyone needs to go check it out.
