While hiking Canyon Estates Trail in February, I noticed Travertine Falls on the map ahead. Once I reached the point, it was hard to notice where waterfall is supposed to be, but in general, beautiful area

An easy to moderately steep climb up with about half the time in shade at most times of the day (less at high noon), very pleasant when it is cool and still fine when it is hotter. No boulder hopping required, but the path is covered with rock shards. Decent views from the waterfall/cave area.

I expected there to be water, but alas, I should have read previous reviews before hiking. The falls were really close and dry. At least they didn’t have litter or valdalism. We Co tied to the lookout on the long fork on Crest 13. It was relatively empty. We passed about 4 parties in 5 hours. By the time we got to the lookout we had consumed our water (3 bottles between 2 people). The lookout views were worth it.

A great place to hike! While the falls almost never are flowing, the travertine cave is very cool to see! Be sure to check out the other trails that connect, and you are sure to find some amazing views!

Lovely, mostly shaded short hike to the "falls," in early September was more like a trickle but still lovely. The cave was neat and would be very fun for young kids. Mostly uphill but not too steep and not too long so appealing for everyone. We continued on past the cave for another few miles and it was very scenic and pretty.

Super short fun hike. Pet friendly/ kid friendly. After monsoon season or after it rains a lot is the best time to see the falls. The trail is fairly shaded so it feels rather nice!(:

Great little hiking trail. Very easy and Short, you'll get to the falls in 15-20 minutes. Go past the falls and many more trails come up. Awesome trailhead.

Easy, short hike from the trail head to Travertine Falls. Trail is well marked and maintained. At the base of the falls, the ice is a hazard so watch your step if there after the falls have frozen. Farther up the Crest Trail there are some very nice overlook views. No restroom at trail head, but there are a map/information board and a bear-proof trash can. Two Pokestops near the falls, and Pokemon along the trails. I had good cell service, and Google Maps could track me along the trail.

This is a huge beautiful waterfall, it is an amazing sight surrounded by beautiful scenery. Many people, myself included, refer to these falls as the "Niagra Falls" of New Mexico.. just kidding, it's barely even a waterfall but it's a nice hike

Nice kid friendly hiking trail! We started going there when our kid was few months old with baby carrier. And then later he started going by himself and getting tired constantly but now that he is 3 he can easily hike to the cave/waterfall and comeback all by himself. It’s a smooth trail. I would highly recommend it.

Nice little hike for the family. Was able to fit a large RV in the parking lot. No water on the falls when we went.

Beautiful location for either a quick hike, or a tough long hike. Sometimes can be a bit crowded, but the further up you hike the less people you'll see.

A winsome experience. That left me breathless from the hike then from the view.

Not always water at the falls but a cute hike. You can also go up and do a longer hole but not as much shade.

Pretty walk but we had to dash down quickly when storms rolled in. Check weather before you go!

About a mile of decently up hill hiking to get to the "cave" part. Dont expect to see the falls when you come here they are mostly dried out sadly its a seasonal thing they come and go. Lost of decent rock climbing areas up the trail. Perfect rock walls for people who are newer to climbing. This is my favorite spot to hike because its only 15 minutes or less outside ABQ. There is also bush crafting "houses" up above the falls a little ways youre always welcome to add to and build on whats existing

A solid and nice short hike to the actual falls. No real demand in terms of physicality to hike the trail, at least in comparison to most other hikes in the Sandias! Probably about 3/4 of a mile to the falls and absolutely gorgeous in the fall time! A great hike to do when you have maybe two hours in the morning. Not a super packed trailhead or trail by any means, but still a decently trafficked trail - after the falls however, a lot less people will be seen passing you on the trail! Not a very strenuous, typical mountainous hike so this could be done by any level of hiker!

This was a perfect hike for a quick, just drove 9 hours, stretch your legs hike. An easy hike for most and really pretty. Of course there was no water but you could imagine how spectacular the falls would be.
