Tijeras Pueblo Archaeological Site

If you wonder about the history of the area on the Turquoise Trail and in and around Santa Fe, this is an active archaeological site with a short walk that shows how the land was used and traveled back in the 13th and 14th centuries by the natives. The path is rustic and the sites are raw as even modern campsites are (this one was possibly used by Indians traversing trails in the vicinity for temporary rest). The signage along the way reveals what was going on around you centuries ago. A unique stop that I would visit again.

Enjoyed a lot learning about Pueblo people who used to live in this area. I wish the museum was open. I will highly recommend this place for people who are interested about history and culture like me.
It's a great place to bring kids to teach them real past history of USA, people who used to live here and their lifestyle. Far better than corrupted history book kids are reading now a days!

Great loop for young and old. The museum was closed when we were there but I'm sure it's a fun experience too. Restrooms were well maintained.

Lovely place. You cannot really see any of the buildings or anything there, but the documentation is really nice.
