Old fashioned feel but everything was clean. The waitress was super friendly and happy to accommodate my low carb requests to change up an entree on the menu. Food was fresh with great portion sizes. Would eat here again

We were seated promptly. The atmosphere was very peaceful and welcoming. Our server was very friendly and attentive. I ordered the firebird and the orange creamsicle. I would return here.

The food and prices are good. I got the Cowboy burger and some mac and cheese. Both were really good! The mac and cheese was from the kids menu, too. Still good. They don't cut corners.

A lovely classic! Always leave satisfied. I adore the 3 Sliders and waffle fries. Our server, Lexy, was fantastic! Very helpful and personable.

This is our favorite restaurant in Lava! The breakfast is always amazing, good coffee, love the scones, and the drinks are spectacular, my kids love them! They have a large menu of boutique sodas and lemonades, and they always come with special touches. My kids were so excited when their hot cocoa came with glittery topping!! The customer service is always so friendly and kind, we eat here multiple times on our Lava trips. ❤

What a nice little hidden gem. This place had a really good food selection and the food was awesome. The portions were big and we left happy. The inside felt a little dated but everything else was great. Worth the visit if you are in the area.

We had a wonderful breakfast at the Chuckwagon! Mary Lou was our server and we loved her! She took great care of us and she’s so fun and cute! Most of us had the skillets and they were delicious!

OMG!! You have to stop here for sure it was the first time in a long time I felt like family when I traveled. The staff was amazing, and the atmosphere was so welcoming. Our waitress Chanteal was amazing! She made our experience even better. The gluten free bread was the best ever and the ribeye was cooked perfect. The drinks we had were fantastic! They had a special mix of two frozen drinks. The burger was epic and had great gloves and the portions are amazing for the price. I live when the staff make you feel like apart of a family and joke around and recommend things it makes for great customer service!

Went for lunch on a Saturday and they were quicker than I'd expected! The drinks they offer in the waiting area are a brilliant idea, our coffees were great. Food came out at a steady pace, everything was hot and just as ordered! No complaints, great place to grab some good old diner grub if you're in town!

We had corned beef hash, scones, cinnamon rolls, green chili and loaded hashbrowns and everything was amazing, the green chili and scones were my favorite but definitely make sure to upgrade your hashbrowns to loaded as well!

What a gem! I love local, home cooked, comfort food and this place nails it. I needed to try Idaho potatoes and their fries made me so happy. On top of all that, the service was so friendly and welcoming. Come for the local experience and food! Thank you! 💖

Breakfast was amazing. The kids were so so happy. The meat omlet with sausage and a scone and the #2 with pancake were really good choices. Good coffee too. The kids want to move to Idaho just to eat here more often. Kayti was awesome!

Huge proportions for a very reasonable price. The staff is way friendly and the food is absolutely delicious. My husband typically eats a lot but actually gets full here AND has leftovers. It's our go-to dinner spot whenever we come to Lava.

This place is great! I was expecting a lot of fried "bar food", but the menu was huge and the salads were super fresh and healthy - with fresh berries and avocados! The service was great and prices are super reasonable. There are also tons of cocktail, coffee, and non-alcoholic beverage choices. They offer dine-in and to-go orders.

Update- Our family came back to the Chuckwagon exactly one year, to the day, from last year. Our waitress was awesome and aware of us at all times. My husband got the chicken fried streak, the cheesy vegetable soup and a scone. He didn’t love the Chicken Fried Steak but did absolutely love the soup and the freshly baked scone with homemade raspberry jam. My kids and I loved our hot chocolate, burgers and pulled pork sandwich. The fries they liked but the tater tots they loved! Thanks for the good food! Love, from Utah.

My family stopped here for a late lunch after visiting the Hot Springs. It has a very small town feel to it. We walked in and were greeted from behind the bar by one of the waitresses who told us we could sit anywhere we wanted.

Our waitress was friendly and attentive. Unfortunately they only had fries and sweet potato fries as a side that day (no tater tots) but that ended being okay because my kids liked both.

The food arrived pretty quickly and was hot and tasty. I got the Reuben, my husband ordered a deep-fried hamburger and my kids ordered a hamburger, grilled cheese and mac and cheese. All the food was eaten so that’s a good sign!

The restaurant was clean-including the bathrooms. Overall a good place to eat.

Excellent service. I asked for extra gravy on the chicken fried steak.. they hooked it up! It was fantastic, and a huge portion. Corn chowder was incredible. Waffle fries don't get better than that! Also, the d-down drink is incredible! Will return!

I recently dined at this charming hometown restaurant, and it exceeded all expectations. The waitress, MaryLu, whose warmth and efficiency added to the overall experience, made our visit memorable. The menu offered a delightful variety, and each dish was a culinary delight. From the appetizers to the dessert, every bite was a taste sensation. The cozy ambiance and exceptional service make this gem a must-visit. Five stars for a delightful dining experience!

Great little restaurant! All the staff were super friendly and definitely gives off that small town vibe! We tried all sorts of entrees and they were all really good! Definitely recommend it if your looking for a good comfort food dinner.

All the staff were hard at work, super friendly, and attentive.
We came around 5:30, and despite it being busy, we were seated as soon as we walked through the door and had menus in hand within 3 munytes of sitting.
Food wasnt fast, but didnt take too long, and Mary Lou came to let us know it was on it way.
I got the pulled Mac (Mac and cheese with bbq pork), was a little weary based off a previous review, but it was delicious.
Be sure to get dessert, the lemon merengue pie was SO good!

Chuckwagon is our absolute favorite place to eat after going to the hot springs. The food is great, huge portions. Price is reasonable and the mixed sodas are so fun. They have a huge variety of flavors. Customer service is also fantastic. We especially love Mary Lou. She has served our large group twice in one month and she’s great with a crowd!
