Painted Valley Mercantile & Ranch Supply

We went here looking for a replacement handle for the valve on our grey tank on our RV. They did not have what we were looking for, but helped us come up with a solution that was better and less expensive then the replacement we needed!

What a fascinating and unique store! Came across it by accident while driving through town and once we got in the door, we were treated to amazing customer service and a dizzying array of things for sale. The staff is super friendly and super helpful. Really has that old fashioned General Store feel, though the products are certainly modern. If I ever move to Dubois, I will only need to shop at this store and maybe the grocery store and I'm all set for everything. To be honest, I never thought about living somewhere rural like this, but after talking to locals in the store, I'm really reconsidering that thought. It's practically Mayberry here, with a wild west twist. They also have what they call their all natural Pest Control, which consists of three absolutely adorable store cats. I even ended up in a long conversation with a guy that works there about aquaponic greenhousing. He really knows his stuff! Too that I live too far away to use him as my main supplier.

In summary, like they love to say, if they don't have it, they'll get it! You could not ask for friendlier staff or a better experience in a mercantile. I strongly recommend patronizing this store. What an amazing hidden gem!

Needed some things for our fifth wheel, and while they didn’t have exact parts, they had everything needed to make do, and were very friendly and helpful. Good old place for guys to chat and make friends, also cool stuff to buy for tourists like us👍🏼

Thanks for the RV sewer elbow and the great tip on finding the Native American petroglyph. Kids loved finding them!
