This was a pretty cool stop. You can walk down to the water. There's no real hike but it's very beautiful, and I thought worth the 30 minutes "out of the way" drive from Criterion ranch trail we hiked afterwards. Getting down to the water is a little steep with steps but it's very short.

An interesting and scenic spot, worth a stop. The falls are magnificent and the historic power house, built in 1910 is interesting, but you can also hike down to and along the river. When I was there I got to watch Whitewater kayakers as they plunged over the falls! It was quite a sight, very exciting to watch!

A waterfall unlike others in Oregon as it's mostly sunny and no trees. It is a small state park off the beaten path. They do have a restroom and picnic tables. A very nice grassy area that's well maintained. It can get hot in summer without shade.

Lovely place to have a picnic and go for a walk. Plenty of parking and picnic tables. We enjoyed following the path down to the bottom of the falls. Bathrooms were well kept.

Amazing hike. I did the full loop that was about 8 miles round trip from my car to the trail with around 2,350 ft elevation gain. The waterfalls are great, but the view at the top of mt Hamilton is priceless. The hike to the waterfall is decently steep but there were many families and younger children on the hike, so if you’re family is looking for a good hike that’s moderately challenging this is a great choice. A discover pass is required to park at the trailhead, and they cost $11 for a day pass or $35 for a year. If you can’t print the pass, just put your order # on a piece of paper and you’ll avoid tickets. If you go on weekends be sure to get there early, the parking lot was full by 10 am on a Saturday, this is a very popular hike! Enjoy!

Enjoy this beautiful waterfall and wildlife as you enter the park. For the more adventurous, take the trail to the river below and check out the abandoned power station. Please note that you cannot enter the building. Pictures taken from outside. I hope you enjoy this wonderful place

This waterfall is different from the forested waterfalls. It is beautiful in its own way. Part of an abandoned hydronic plant. Has a nice picnic area

Easy but steep hike to the falls. Make sure to take water. Depending on how full the falls are, swimming may or may not be a good idea. I’ve been there many times and you can tell when it’s not advisable to do so.

In my opinion, one of the most unique waterfalls in Oregon, as it's not surrounded by forests, as most of our falls do. Also it's pretty accessible. Well at the very end maybe a bit steep for some people (especially at rain) but overall pretty short and good walk. Picnic places are also nice. Go there early in the morning so that you get first sunlights on the fall (about 50 min after sunrise) and will be no or very less people. Photos here are captured about 2 weeks ago all by myself (very few water but still not bad:))

Wonderful little park with a short hike down to the river. The falls are pretty cool. Great spot to stretch the legs when on a road trip.

Wow wow wow! So much better than what I expected, it was so worth the drive. You can just step out of your car hear and see a beautiful waterfall. We walked down to the old building and then past it to see the other waterfall. It didn’t even seem like the trail continued but we are so glad we kept walking. We saw the most beautiful wild flowers against a landscape that made me feel like I was in a different state. There’s picnic tables and plenty to explore in the park. It definitely feels like you are in the middle of nowhere so bring food or snacks, there’s some nice tables and clean flushing toilets. Will have to return another time but I loved visiting during Spring

Accessible paved walkway to the overlook of the falls.
The short hike down to the old station is steep and rocky, but doable with kids as well.

Gorgeous set of waterfalls that seem to appear out of nowhere. I visited in July, and if going in the warmer months definitely bring lots of water with you as the hike back up is steep. Worth the adventure!!

We visited in February when the weather was nice. Easy climb down to the old hydroelectric building and river's edge. Lots of photo ops. Worthwhile side trip.

GORGEOUS waterfall!! There wasn't much to the park besides the waterfall, though there is a bathroom (really clean too!) and a few picnic tables. The parking area is small so I imagine it would be hard to find parking on a weekend. I went on a Monday (5/17/21) and only ran into a few people.

It was in the high 70s which was fine because it was breezy, but probably wouldn't want to go if it was much hotter! I climbed down to the bottom which was really neat, the water was loud and powerful. I ran into a giant a** snake though and high-tailed it outta there SO fast!

Worth the Trip! The Falls are easy to get to and a site to see and take in. Trail is short and good for dogs to cool off in the water. Ruins of abandoned Hydropower plant are interesting to explore. Park is free and the grounds are well maintained. The are bathrooms and picnic tables close to the parking lot.

Great lille hike. OK for small kids just keep them close. The old power plant built in 1900 is really cool. River is very shallow and has sand bottom. Great for cooling off on a hot day

This waterfall is intense. So much water! I wish the old building wasn't there anymore so the view of the waterfall from the bottom is easier to see, but the view from the top is worth the trip! The water is so cold, but it felt nice on a hot day.

Amazingly beautiful!! We hike the White River Falls trail. We did the full 5 miles round-trip to the Deschutes. The hike was pretty much along the White River. It's a very beautiful hike, but the trail to get down to the river is very steep. And there is really no trail once you made it down. We just follow the foot path and keep walking along the river until you get to the end. The Deschutes.
