I cannot express how grateful I am for Richard Snyder, the Funeral Director. He is such a compassionate and attentive person who treated my family like a member of his. His service is impeccable. This was my first experience with funeral arrangements. Losing someone suddenly without any plans was extremely difficult and upsetting. Having no funeral plans in place made the situation even worse.

Richard Snyder took the time to explain the process and details with our family. He went out of his way to make sure every detail was cared to. He has been in contact with us several months later to help us obtain the final death certificate.

As a Funeral Director/Embalmer and funeral home owner, I have to say that it’s extremely difficult to find another funeral home and staff who’s service and compassion are congruent to how I run my establishment. I’m always nervous when receiving someone’s loved one from another funeral home after they’ve been embalmed due to the lack of attention and care given. Richard not only did an amazing job with the restoration and care of the gentleman we called him to care for and help get him home to Texas, but was in constant communication about his process and issues relating to the situation. If you are a family member, who has lost a loved one and are reading this review, I would encourage you to stop searching and pick up the phone and call these folks to help carry you through the process.

Richard and his team provided excellent service during a very emotional time. They were friendly, compassionate, kind, and professional from start to finish.

Richard patiently helped our family make decisions regarding my grandmother’s services and provided a nice space for the wake. He took the time to include a Polish flag near her casket, as her heritage was something she was always very proud of. We were amazed at how peaceful and healthy she looked. He was able to use a picture from years ago to match her hair and her features perfectly.

I appreciated that recording the services was an option so out of state family that could not attend, could still be apart of everything.

Sowiecki-Snyder funeral home was clean and comfortable. The open floor plan made this process mentally and emotionally easier as we didn’t feel confined to one area and we were able to see all of our family and friends no matter where they sat. I would definitely recommend their services.

I would recommend Sowiecki-Snyder Home to anyone in the unfortunate situation of having to lay their loved ones to rest. When my dad passed this month, my mom and I couldn’t put two thoughts together. Richard was an Angel and helped us in more ways than he knows. He went above and beyond to show compassion and respect during this difficult time. His work was beautiful and so thoughtfully given. He pours love and kindness into his work and we are so grateful.

I could never say enough nice things about Richard Synder. I first met him in May when my Godson unexpectedly passed. He assisted me in planning his arrangements. Richard was so patient, sincere, generous and humble. He ensured all wishes were fulfilled.
Late in November, my Mother passed away and I was honored to have Richard oversee my Mom’s final arrangements. I will always be thankful for Richard’s time, efforts and great humanitarian nature. Thank you so much Richard.

I was extremely impressed with the exceptional service I received recently from Sowiecki-Snyder Home for Funerals & Cremation Service for my brother-in-law's service. Director Richard was professional, caring, helpful, detailed oriented, and informative every step of the way. He was able to make the process seamless for me; and allowed my family to grieve. He bridged two families apart due to the pandemic; and reunited my brother-in-law back to his family overseas and to his final resting place. I cannot say enough how grateful and appreciative I am for the service I received there.

Despite being my half brother, Richard took care of my father as if he were his own. From pre-planning and answering any questions I had… to picking my father up from hospice personally. I am a licensed funeral director in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and have held these licenses for the past 28 years (I am now 48 years old). I am the owner of the Spilker Funeral Home, Cape May, NJ. Recently, we needed help in the area of where Sowiecki-Snyder Funeral Home is located. We needed a "Cape May loved one" transferred from their place of passing and the "initial preparation work" performed before our loved one from Cape May could be transported via commercial airlines. To say the least, I am an EXTREMELY critical person regarding the "initial preparation work" and I NEVER like to have anyone else do this "initial preparation work" for the families I serve...but my hands are tied in these situations. Under my critical eyes over these many years in funeral service, I have come to see much of the "initial preparation work" from other funeral homes and funeral directors to be "good" but the reason I am writing this review is because the extreme care and strict attention to detail in the "initial preparation work" that was done by Richard Snyder was beyond exceptional. This is not the forum to get into these details regarding "initial preparation work" but any consumers who are doing their homework before making such an important choice as to WHO their funeral service provider will be, I would hope you would weigh this review heavily. Richard cares enough to focus on the smallest details that make the difference and he obviously comes from a background that has tried and tested him for him to be at this level of expertise. My best advice to folks who, unfortunately, may need the help of a funeral service provider is to KNOW who is on the other end of the telephone before you make such an important call. The little things count tremendously at such a time and, from what I have seen with my own, very critical and seasoned eyes, is that Richard is all about managing these little things that create the separation between "average" and "phenomenal." For me, I want "phenomenal' in this type of situation and I am thinking anyone reading this would probably want the same? I am proud to be in funeral service with such a colleague. When one shines -- we all shine. Richard is a patient, experienced & honest man. I had no idea what I was doing when I was trying to send my loved one who passed away to Puerto Rico. He made me feel comfortable and confident that he can get the job done and he did! Communicated at ALL times and gave my family and I updates.
