Checkered Pig BBQ and Ribs

The pork BBQ is fantastic and they have some amazing sauces. It's a great little restaurant, perfect for families and small groups.

Stopped in here for the first time this week. The food was delicious and the wait staff was excellent! Their sauces are absolutely delicious as well. Definitely a must stop from now on out when we come up here!

We were seated quickly. The waitress was at our table in no time. She offered options for me to substitute one item for another because of my dislike of eggs. And let me know it would cost a little extra before my order was placed. The food was fresh and delicious. And so was the coffee!!

Have been to the pig twice once for dinner and then a follow up breakfast and there were no complaints 👌 😉 and I will highly suggest the country fried smoked pork tender was amazing

While otw back to Elon, NC after getting some tires, me and my nephew stopped by. He got the brisket and I got the 6 piece buffalo, but all flat wings. Now then, I proceeded to add/drench the wings with their premiere hot sauce, and 😲 HOLY MOLY....Dip that in the blue cheese and enter flavor city. I sorely regret not purchasing their signature hot sauce that day.

Tried the breakfast since my #1 favorite breakfast spot doesn’t open until lunch now. I was shocked, the bfast was actually pretty good and the pancakes were crispy just how I like them!! Will be back

I eat here at least 3 times a week.. service is always good. Sure wish they would bring Chelsea back. She was a great waitress always friendly ,fast and efficient

We had planned to stop here for at least a month after making a Dr appointment in Danville. I'm so happy we had a late lunch here! I'd seen the owners on BBQ Pitmasters when it was filmed at Martinsville Speedway and been interested in eating the food for about a year. Even if they didn't win on the show, they won with us. Hubby had chopped and chicken, I had ribs and chopped. I wanted brisket, but I didn't want to wait any longer than I already had after the show. I was ready to eat! I had a few thumbs down moments but was able to manage. Our chopped was dry, so we both added more of our own favorite sauces with good results.

The worst 2 things I could say about our experience here would be that it's unfortunate to charge extra for ribs or brisket. I can live with the charge, it's just that so many restaurants don't do this for those two meats. The ribs I ate, on the first bite I involuntarily moaned a little! They were that good!

The one star is that I learned to never order collard greens anywhere without asking if sugar is in them. I found out that I literally hate sugar in collards! I tried the vinegar sauce that I don't like to see if it helped, it didn't. It worked out ok the next day at home when I doctored them.

This is Hog Heaven. We have had some Great BBQ over the years this is by far the Best. Just Great Service awesome Staff to die for Brisket. Just First Class.

Best BBQ pork with coleslaw and sauce, that I've ever eaten ! Whenever I have a gig in Danville, I stop here to eat. Love it ! 😋😃

We stopped here on our way home from a weekend vacation. I had the brisket and Amy had the BBQ. We both enjoyed our meal.

UPDATE: we just left checkered pig after having breakfast here for the first time. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Very reasonably priced and very good food. We will be doing breakfast here again.

Really good BBQ place! The pulled pork was tasty, lean, and mild. Brisket was very delicious and mostly lean like I like it with just a little fat and a nice bright smoke ring. Sauces were noteworthy and I especially enjoyed the spicy one with lots of flavor and a good bit of tangy heat. I'd go back again without hesitation and recommend to any of my BBQ loving friends.

Had the ribs, not the meatiest but we're done very well and had excellent flavor. Sides were solid. I was very impressed with their cobbler, fantastic flavor and texture. This place is on many top BBQ listings of North Carolina and for good reason.

By far the best breakfast in town! Eggs scrambled with cheese, turkey bacon, fried apples, and toast. The breakfast of country boys 😋😋

Great casual dining in Danville. Friendly with an attention to service. Roasted chicken is delicious. And, worth a visit just for the sides (esp. onion rings, mac & cheese).

Always Delicious!!!! You must try their breakfast…..get the tenderloin, it’s smoked then fried and covered in gravy!!! Mmmm

Been wanting ribs and happy to know somebody can finally cook ribs! Had this for the 4th since the townhouses the hubby and I live at we can't have a grill. Ate some on the lot next to the restaurant and home. Was scrumptious! This was worth the money for the family pack!
