Mary's Diner

Salisbury steak was very tender. I could cut it with light pressure with my fork. And it was a very generous portion. The gravy and mashed potatoes were very good also. I could tell they weren't instant potatoes. The pecan pie was also very tasty. Like my mom used to make. My fiancee had the grilled chicken. A very generous portion as well. You can tell the diner has been there a while. Everything was clean and orderly. I highly recommend that if you are looking for some down home cooking; this is the spot.

I don't know where these folks are coming up with 4 stars. I've traveled this Country from top to bottom and side to side. Mary's Diner is what small town dining is all about! Family owned and operated with fresh ingredients, this place is an oasis between Roanoke and Martinsville. If you blink you'll drive past it but that's part of what makes it so awesome. These ladies know everyone and treat strangers like family. They certainly fed me well and I'll go out of my way just to go eat there again!

If you are looking for heritage type country food look no further. The fried pork chops, squash, and banana pudding reminded me of the way my Grandmother made them over 49 years ago.
The staff is very friendly, and welcoming. If I'm ever back in the Danville area I will definitely be making a stop here!

Mary's Diner catered our Christmas dinner this evening. The food was excellent, the service was prompt and great and the price was an awesome value. Everyone loved it. Thank you Mary's Diner for a wonderful experience.

Been eating there for yrs, and the food is good. I mainly get take because the staff where the drive thru window is really makes you feel like family. They're very friendly and professional with all there customers but Joyce really goes 1 step and beyond with everyone she serves. Staff in the dining room area are very friendly also, no staff member rush you when you can't decide what you want

The food here is always very tasty and portions are generous too. We often dine here or get it to go, if I don't feel like cooking. Just good ole home cooking at it's best. Large selection of entrees, vegetables, dessert and beverages. The service is great too. Our favorite after church spot.

It's always a great place to get some good country cooking. The price isn't too bad. The people are always friendly.

If you haven't been...well you've been missing out! This family restaurant offers several meat and vegetable options as well as plenty of desserts and salads. Bring your entire family and an empty stomach. The servings they give are huge so you'll probably end up having leftovers which is always a plus because you get to eat it twice. Oh don't forget to try the peach cobbler and the country style steak. I bet you will love everything you eat there.

I very seldom give five stars on anything, but Mary's Diner! Home cooking! I got hamburger steak & gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans and Ice tea for around $14. About the same price as a hamburger & fries & drink. I get tired of hamburgers! But, I've been eating at Mary's for 45 years, and still not tired of them!

Mary's catered an event for me with 60 people on the lake. From the planning, to the set up and delivery, and of course the eating, it was all wonderful. We had dinner Saturday night and lunch on Sunday. I could not have asked for anything better. What an amazing job! The food was fabulous!

Oh my word!! MARY'S is a Danville treasure! I actually feel like I went to my grandmother's for lunch. I had pork chops, mac and cheese and deviled eggs and banana pudding for dessert. People you need to keep this place in business because I eat on the road everyday I'm so tired of food from some large chain. This was delightful! My first time here for lunch and I promise it will not be my last. Everything I had was so good. I cannot say enough good. Ton of food. MARY'S will more than fill you up.

Chicken Livers on Wednesday night were great! Plus I had the seven layer salad.

Phenomenal food! The BBQ chicken was to die for haha. We loved everything. Even the green beans were good!

Friendly service and good food. When you want a filling and tasty meal this should be your destination.

The food was absolutely amazing, reminds me of my grandmothers cooking back in the day. I remember I was a young a boy and coming through the front door and smelling the delicious smell of fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, green beans, corn bread, banana putting. The cottage was always filled with Thanksgiving aromas!

To @LacyMcLacy: You obviously don't what good food is, your name explains the type of dramatic person, very uneducated, and rude you are. I am truly ashamed that we have people like you living in the magnificent City of Danville Virginia.

We ordered take out for 6 people. They hooked us up with plenty of great tasting food. The green beans are amazing.
