The lady answering the phones is rude. Very rude. They failed to get my prior authorization sent in for Botox for over 4 months then lied to me about it. I contacted both my insurance companies who both confirmed no such requests had been sent in. When I called back about this the lady at the front desk insisted I wasn’t being honest and refused to answer my questions. I have a severe migraine disorder. The incompetency of the staff has resulted in me suffering needlessly. I think I’m particularly appalled that they tried to gaslight me when I have a degree in this stuff and have worked in healthcare for many years. Do not come to this place, ever. I suspect whoever does insurance stuff let the ball drop and has convinced the others that the patients are unreasonable. Regardless, maybe they should start listening to their patients. They don’t return phone calls. The lady at the front desk is definitely losing this office business. The providers themselves are lovely, but you’re only as good as your support staff and their support staff is terrible.

I have had the worst experience with this office. First of all, it is filthy! Second of all, the billing department is incompetent. I've paid the invoice they keep sending me TWICE and I'm still receiving a bill stating they will be turning it over to a collection agency. Please do! Maybe the collection agency will have you finally cut MY overpayment check! I do not recommend dealing with this office at all. Never again!

The karen working the front desk is loosing you business. Never in my entire adult life have I ever seen a Dr's office insist you present your medical card if you have nit received it yet and all you have is the electronic one. I even explained this over the phone yesterday when they called to confirm my apt and was told it was not an issue Howe when I tried to sign in with it she wouldn't take me it said I'd have to reschedule because she was to lazy to type in a number. I told her never mind ill find a different neurologist I waited 5 months to get an apt there then get told I have to reschedule after having multiple stroke a brain bleed and now something going on with my spine blatter and bowls due to nervs I'm not waiting around on this office ill die b4 they decide to see me

Unfortunately, my experience with this critical provider has resulted in me having to seek necessary treatment from other providers and an extended recovery time that could have been avoided. Absent during a critical period, Doctor had to be officially requested to come and advise on test results. Worse, he complained about being called, not realizing he was complaining to nurse in front of family members. The only speed observed was the promptness in billing. The people of Danville VA deserves better care.

UPDATE: I was billed a small amount of deductible in September, sent payment October 2, received continuing bills in Nov and Dec as well as a threat they would turn over to a collection agency. Check sent Oct 2 was deposited Nov 15. I have called their office repeatedly since October for more than 30 times. Never a human answer and never a return call, and detailed messages have been left with “billing”, “office manager”, “appointment center” and “all other.”

I am a 65+ yr old professional and have never experienced services or medical treatment as bad. Danville and SOVAH should be embarrassed and provide better services.

i I have already had my bar lowered after moving to Danville Virginia with regard to what is considered good care in a medical scenario that in a lot of ways feels like West Virginia Appalachia... but in any case I was already horrified after the first visit to this clinic, where I saw all kinds of gross stuff on the floor, as though no one had swept or cleaned it for days!!
I was horrified but at the time I was thinking, I'm only coming here for one test, so there's no need to get upset with anyone about their lack of cleanliness... but after my experience today which was totally unprofessional, totally lacking in any level of expertise, whatsoever I was horrified today when I came back for the second appointment that had to be made because their machine was broken 3 weeks ago when I came for the first appointment for the nerve testing, after an hour and 15 minutes of waiting for my appointment and watching 10 people go into the office ahead of me I asked the person at the front desk what was going on and she said oh we just had that machine fixed this morning so you'll be going in any minute now excuse me what the eff??

Months of neglect, poor to non existent communications, and I still don't have a proper diagnosis. Staff is barely competent, and after long wait times (I have been forgotten about twice), the "Doctor" just smiles and explains nothing. I have never been asked how I am feeling or doing on the strong medicine he prescribed. Just botched a risky spinal-tap lab test perminatly putting off a diagnosis.

Why aren't there during your store hours. What kinda business doesn't leave a note or inform their customers/ patience that they can't get the attention they need. This is such a bad practice. And such an inconvenience to anyone needing help
If you changed hours you need to update them.

I do not recommend using this practice. Office staff nor office Manager returns calls. When I voiced a concern about waiting 3 months for follow up of testing results and for them not returning calls, I was hung up on. Very unprofessional staff. This practice is a referral by Sentara.

They cant even manage to fix their mistakes ... let alone care about people in general . I sat in the office for 50 minutes and watched how rude everyonebin the front office was

I took my adult daughter who has epilepsy to this doctor because she cannot drive. I went in with her for her visit. This Doctor is not very polite. He did not introduce himself and immediately started talking to me as if I was the patient. I pointed out to him that my daughter is the patient, and he never once used her name.

She told him that she had a seizure during a recent EEG, given by HIS office, and he told her that he didn't believe her, when the technicians had noted it on the results. Overall, he came off as very unfriendly, and arrogant. We will go elsewhere.

Dr Owusu messed up by calling in my prescriptions to two different pharmacies. I was picking them up from different places which was just because I would get a call from the pharmacy saying I had a prescription ready. But when he found out his his office called and told me that he wouldn't be writing me any more prescriptions for Alprazolam. I called the pharmacy I had 4 refills and enough until I could get in with another doctor so I called and cancelled my appointment. When I did he called and cancelled my 4 refills I had. I would not have cancelled my appointment if I knew he was going to call and cancel my 4 refills of the prescription. When I realized what he did I asked if he would call in enough until I get in with another doctor and he just keeps telling me to go see a psychiatrist. I am having several seizures daily from withdraws from just suddenly stop taking the medication and not able to get in with another doctor soon. I even tried rescheduling my appointment so he would call back in my 4 refills I had left that he wouldn't have cancelled if I hadn't cancelled my appointment but I keep getting told he won't do anything until my next appointment wich is in several months. I even tried going and making a appointment at a rehab but he won't fax over my medical records. My family says this is grounds for a lawsuit because this medication I was on should not just be stopped abruptly. He should have weaned me off of them and that is what is causing these seizures that I am having and could cause serious damage. I can't get in with another doctor until next month and he won't even prescribe me enough until then. What am I supposed to do until my next appointment or can get in with another doctor because I can not sleep and I'm having several seizures daily which is effecting my life negatively in several ways. Such as losing my job and not having nice holidays without having my family worrying about me. Again I would go get a prescription when a pharmacy would call saying I have one ready. I wouldn't have done so if he hadn't made that mistake he won't adhere to. Even though it was a mistake he is making me pay for it which is going to make things worse. That is why my family is definitely going to take legal action against him and his office. Especially after having a seizure last night and breaking my arm.

Worse experience in this office very unprofessional zero communication skills. I was referred to this office by PATHS, my appointment was 3/30/21 for 1:45 pm at 2pm I was given paperwork which took me 5 minutes or less to complete at 2:30 the front fest associate Amber asks me to complete signing to documents. I address my concern of the long wait with. I communication as to why if my appointment at 1:45 I was still waiting 45 minutes. Amber was very rude saying she has other patients there and went to get someone else to speak to me making all these body and face gestures. This is unacceptable so unprofessional in a place that was not packed at all. The second woman was rude as well who came out to get the patients and the last woman I spoke to was the only professional there. I will go else where waste of my time!

THIS OFFICE IS THE WORST! Not because of the nurses or anyone else that helps you before you get to THE RUDEST HEALTHCARE UN-PROFESSIONAL that i have ever encountered, VICTOR OWUSU-YAW,MD has forgotten the golden rule in Healthcare which is "Customer Service and Bedside Manner".
He is rude beyond belief and needs to retire! I did not want to give a star because of his Inability to be a Decent human being over shadows the Great people that work in this office, but I couldn't post unless I did...

I also agree with the reviews worst experience ever the African doctor had a Indian trainee doctor with him we both was looking at each other while this doctor proceeded to do my electric muscle test with the door wide open patients barking by losing their way in the hallway and he took a phone call he stayed on the call for 35 to 45 minutes no joke while he was poking and prodding me unprofessional worst place ever don't ever go there if I go I'll go back and see the Indian doctor I have a good mind to report this doctor kuka Luke African doctor to the AMA he was

The front desk and nursing staff was awesome and friendly, but I pretty much waited a long time just to be brushed off quickly by the doctor he didn’t really listen to what was going on and expect me to come back in six months currently looking for a new neurologist🤷🏾‍♀🤦🏾‍♀
