Westover Baptist Church

Praise the Lord for WBC! From the very first day I walked in to this church to visit with my brother, I felt welcome and cared for! The church family really loves and care for each other! They practice the “one anothers” from God’s Word! It’s an amazing place to worship the Lord together. The preaching is informative and challenging! Pastor Lance is an excellent expositor and rightly divides the Word of Truth! I am learning and growing weekly. If you don’t have a church family, come join us!

After searching what felt like forever… we found our home church at Westover Baptist. I am confident in knowing that when I listen to the words of Pastor Lance I am hearing The Word of God. The people are so friendly and my children are excited to go to church and become apart of the children’s ministry.

This church is welcoming and friendly. Their focus is on discipleship and spiritual growth, not by telling you what you want to hear, but by challenging you and telling you what you need to hear. This church is great for families and have services and activities for all ages.

Westover Baptist Church is the most warm and welcoming church I have ever attended! If people ordinarily make you nervous, this is the church family for you! Also, the pastor is kind, caring, and most importantly, he preaches the word of God with complete honesty. I cannot recommend this church enough!

Me and my husband we’re looking for a Christ focused biblical church with a comforting environment and we definitely found it at Westover Baptist Church! It’s so encouraging to be able to find a church that is led by the Word of God! Extremely grateful and blessed to have found this church and we plan on staying here ! I really love the atmosphere, this church, and everyone is super welcoming! Shane is definitely someone you’ll meet your first time. A place where you can grow with the body of Christ! Very biblical , Christ honoring, kind and best church I’ve ever been! You will feel like you belong here and the people want to help you further your knowledge of Christ! They have a group for every age and a wonderful young adult group! Definitely recommend it

My husband and I had been searching for a church home for a while now and we happened upon Westover via Facebook and we are so thankful we went! The moment you walk through the door, you are greeted by loving and welcoming people! Pastor Lance is a gifted expository preacher that puts himself under the authority of God's Word and teaches in a manner that is easy to understand. Everyone involved with the children and nursery are kind, understanding and attentive to the needs of our young ones. This church is a blessing to all who come, so I encourage everyone to visit and see for yourself!

Wonderful church! Pastor Lance is knowledgeable about the Word and preaches straight from the Bible.
Everyone there is so welcoming and genuinely wants to get to know you. My family has grown so much since November. We have truly found our church family and will be joining the church this Sunday - Easter Sunday 2023.

My wife and I were well received at the Westover Baptist World Missions Conference. We enjoyed great meals and were treated like family. All the pastors were attentive to all our needs and even provided transportation for us when our vehicle unexpectedly broke down. We were allowed to share our Deaf Ministry several times with their church. It was also a real treat for us to share our ministry with their Christian School students as they were attentive and enthusiastic. Great Church, great pastors, and great church family!

Everyone is very welcoming. It’s a wonderful church full of friendly people. If you like expository preaching then this is the Church for you in Danville. Pastor Lance does a wonderful job breaking down the word verse by verse giving scripture references. He’s a wonderful teacher and when he is preaching you know the star of the show will be the Word of God. Highly recommended.

A great church to worship the Savior at. This church keeps Jesus Christ as the focal point of everything they do in worship and service. If you love solid, biblical preaching and teaching, this is the place for you. It is also a church that believes in the power of prayer, with prayer meetings every Wednesday evening. This place truly models what the church is supposed to be, it is a loving community of believers who will undoubtedly make you and your family feel welcome.

During the covid lockdowns the Lord really began to open my eyes and got my attention to find a solid church with a pastor who truly did expository preaching/teaching with a truly biblical world view.
Dr. John MacArthur is a pastor that I have listened to over the years and have read several of his books. His ministry has been a tremendous encouragement to me.
Through MacArthur's ministry I discovered The Master's Seminary website. On this website was a church locator which helped lead me to Westover Baptist Church.
Pastor Lance has great courage, boldness and a non compromising unapologetic stance on teaching the Bible. An unbroken pattern of accurate, deep, clear and convicting teaching from God's Word is preached and taught at this church. Sola ScrIptura is absolutely Truth.
In this delusional and fallen world, WBC is a Light house and Pastor Lance's preaching/teaching of God's Word is truly a breath of fresh air and of great hope and encouragement.

Westover Baptist is a congregation of the most Christ-like and loving people. I have a 30 mile commute and would honestly drive even more miles to attend this church. Also the connection classes are phenomenal. God bless Westover Baptist♥
