Brintle's Homestyle Restaurant

We wanted quick dinner a long drive and checking into our hotel. This place was next door so we took a chance on it. Boy am I glad we did. This was the BEST breakfast for dinner we have ever had in a restaurant. I think this is the first time we didn’t have anything leftover to bring back to our dogs lol. The eggs were perfectly cooked sunny side up. Ham was tender and delicious. Bacon was perfectly crunchy just the way I love it. Hash browns were crispy but not burnt. Leah was our friendly,polite and attentive waitress who would check on us every time she passed by. The dining area is huge so being crowded wasn’t a problem. The entire place was very clean. It is attached to a “truck stop” so I wouldn’t call it fine dining with a well dressed clientele. But, not a sleazy place like other locations of that type. We got there about 9pm there were only a few people eating there. It’s probably more full of “truckers” earlier around breakfast and lunch. We can’t say anything bad about our experience. The food and service was exemplary.
We would DEFINITELY! Go back if we’re in the area again for another delicious meal.

Wow!! This place rocks, Hanna (waitress), was spectacular, very attentive, kind, and professional. I never had to ask for my cup to be refilled. The meatloaf sandwich was crazy good with brown gravy over it. A large thick slice
The next day, fried chicken dinner was just awesome chicken juicy and seasoned just right, slice of chocolate and lemon pie oh yea!! Restaurant cleanliness was well above the norm, no crazy smells, just good food.

Just to let everyone know, the laundry services are what they were 8 years ago. Washer $1.50 dryer $ 2.50 clean machines. Everyone was polite and helpful. This place gets a hard to earn 5 star with me just wow!!

Just ate here for the first time. The spaghetti is pretty darn good but what really makes this place worth stopping in is Leah. She made my day with her cheerful personality and her attentiveness. Great service Leah! I'll definitely be seeing you again.
PS. Management give that girl a raise.

A great place to stop and eat. Friendly staff. Made to order food. Clean. If the restaurant doesn’t have what you want, or you are just in a rush, the travel store hot bar is worth a look. The hot bar serves great home made lasagna, turkey legs, boneless bbq wings and THE BEST mac & cheese.

The reviews are not too high, but the Tuna Melt on Rye with Swiss and American cheese was fantastic! Just the right portion.

Haven't been here in years because during the 'Rona, they couldn't get enough staff in to keep the doors open consistently & i just gave up trying.
HOWEVER, today i came in on a whim to find a bunch of new staff and now i remember why this one is on my list of top 20 best truck stop restaurants of north America.

Medium rare sirloin, 3 eggs over easy, toast, grits & bacon + juice & coffee followed up with coconut cream pie. All of it was well above average but the coffee is outstanding, eggs were dream quality perfect & grits were spot-on. Steak was 3 inches thick & juicy delish.

Ambiance is classic & clean. Service was all pro.
No wait.

Totally won me back over. So if you're a trucker who has become used to just parking anywhere inconsiderate of anyone, watch out because I'm back & i got 19 ways to ruin your day if i catch u doing wrong. So do right & don't be lazy.

This was my second time dining in at the Brintle's Restaurant and I was very well satisfied with the food and the service. Even though I only had the soup and salad bar it was more than enough to please my palate and my stomach for a restful night in Mount Airy, NC.

Had a piece of the best fried chicken I've had in a long time. Friendly staff. Sad to hear that things are about to change. Flying J should put places like this in all their truck stops!

Haven't eaten anything that good in a while. 24oz steak 2 over easy eggs and some home made fried potatoes. I wanted to act like a dog an lick it clean 😆

Had the fried chicken was very flavorful and cooked to perfection. Had the corn bread green beans and sweet tea. Sweet tea was great. Green beans were typical restaurant green beans salt and pepper is on the table for you to season them. Over all no complaints the waitress was very nice and welcoming. Would recommend. Checking this hidden gem out.

Food was delicious and service was fantastic and inside very clean. Best truck stop restaurant we have ate at since before covid hit. Its very hard to find good food and service all in one place but we did. This restaurant is awesome! Highly recommend! Thank you to our waitress, Leah B. for your great service.

Always one of my favorite places to stop. After 23 years on the road, it's good that decent restaurants and good food is still available here, where as everywhere else seems to be going to fast food. The waitress I had tonight was attentive and friendly. Always a pleasant experience here

We have been coming here for years!! Years!! During the plandemic. We stopped as often as we could. They were struggling and the Server was only one. Bless her heart. If you've been in there, you know who I am talking about. We wanted to support her as much as we could. They maintained their quality of food and service. We will continue to stop in there and eat. Because....she is still there. And they have now hired a few more. Loyalty customers was the best we could do. They stayed true to their quality. And their commitment to serving the public. Good job Brintles!!

It's almost like stepping back in time they still have the phone booth and everything else like an old school truck stop also have a lot of Barney Fife memorabilia LOL!

Best truck stop food I've had lately, what I couldn't eat, they boxed it up to go!

This is a gem in the rough, with it getting harder for the truck driver to find decent food in the sit down, down home atmosphere. This place is a winner. Always a great meal no matter what you order. Great staff, especially Liz L. She definitely makes you feel welcome. Hope this place never closes.

Had the Meatloaf first it was Cold then I figured out it was HORRIBLE. I think it the same thing they serve to inmates (PROTEIN LOAF) NASTY

I appriecated this homestyle meal! It was so good and the price was even better! All this food and drink 10!
