SCHILLINGHAUS MUENSTER

This was a girls trip with my friend from elementary school. The SCHILLINGHAUS B&B was amazing, clean and maybe I should say spotless. The owners are remarkable in assuring your every need is met and our 1 bedroom, fully equipped apartment was beautifully renovated. They provided us with so much history of the area and things to do and see. We love the vouchers for breakfast or any meal you choose as everyone doesn't eat at the same time or may have dietary constrictions. I highly recommend this B&B.

The hospitality and beautiful accommodations were far more than we expected. We wanted to live there! Very charming area steeped in history. Lots of places to explore, dine, and enjoy the scenery. We visited two wineries, museums, and enjoyed an outdoor concert and the attractions at the nearby historic town of Saint Jo. We had a great time.

Beautiful and spacious, quality and very clean, comfy bed and pillows...I slept every bit as well as I would at home and felt so restored. My only regret was that I didn't stay three nights instead of one.

This is a wonderful place to stay. We were on our way home to Oklahoma from vacation in Fredericksburg, TX and Muenster was about halfway. Schillinghaus was a terrific find! We stayed in the Blue Room. It is more like an apartment with a well stocked granite and stainless kitchen, living area, bedroom with large closet and bathroom, beautiful decor, and comfortable furnishings. There were even complimentary drinks and snacks in the refrigerator for us. It was 104 degrees when we were there so we opted not to sit on the balcony but in cooler weather it would have been a joy! The owners thought of everything to make our stay comfortable and relaxing. We were even thinking about asking if we could stay another night but decided we did need to get back home! Nanette was so friendly and helpful to us - thanks, Nanette. We highly recommend Das Schillinghaus!

Best B&B I've ever been to. This a a gem of a place. The owner is so kind and accommodating. The room was spotless. They include lots of little extra touches and amenities that you won't find anywhere else. It's quiet and the perfect getaway. What.a retreat! Thank you.

Only fond memories of our lovely stay at the Schillinghaus. My husband and I enjoyed a getaway there before our baby was born. We found our room romantic, private, and beautiful. We hope to stay there again! ❤

Best place I have ever stayed! They thought of everything and made it feel like home! Clean, comfortable and very spacious. Will absolutely come back to stay when we are visiting the local wineries.

When you want to spend a night or two in Muenster, especially for Germanfest or Octoberfest, this is the best and only choice. Big, beautiful, clean, modern, and wonderfully charming rooms. There are just a few things to know: there is no dining room (they give you $5pp breakfast vouchers to restaurants, choose Roehmers), there is a full kitchen in each room not just a little one; the WiFi is disguised as the dental office WiFi; be sure to visit on Thursday-Sunday so that you can visit one of the wineries in the area, because they are a nice inexpensive attraction. Do not visit Bayer's Exxon Bakery. It is hyped, but it is horrible. Shillinghaus is wonderful.

I hate to give away my secret, but this place is wonderful! They have two "rooms" (private one bedroom apartments, really) you can rent. They are spotlessly clean, decorated tastefully, and have all the comforts of home. You can find a toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo/conditioner, soap in the bathroom if you forgot anything, there is a keurig coffee pot with a few flavors of coffee. In the fridge, there was creamer, water, soft drinks, candy, and last (but not least!) the owner leaves a home-made strudel in the fridge for you! In the freezer was bags of cheese cubes and sausages from the locally famous Fischers Grocery. No hot breakfast served, but a coupon is on the counter for you to use in one of the local restaurants (we had the strudel in the fridge for breakfast).

Absolutely loved this B&B. The process getting access to the room was very easy, I like that I did not have to carry a room key with me. Our room was very cozy and comfortable. This is a great place to get a way from the busy city!

I write this review with trepidation. There's no way I can do Schillinghaus Muenster the justice that they deserve. From the first phone call until the morning we locked the door behind us to leave, our experience was sublime. To say we were treated well would be an understatement. It would be as simplistic at to say "Grandma loves you". What you will feel is, "You matter." or "You are important." The finest accomadations in the most tranquil setting in one of the most beautiful areas of Texas. I must add,...the bed linens were amazing. It's as though they are hand woven by cherubs, brushed with angels' wings, and offered as a testament to how loved you are. If all you did was travel to Muenster, TX so you could rest at Schillinghaus, ...you'd be complete.

Had a great stay. Super hospitable and friendly service. They booked me a massage and brought breakfast one morning. Very comfortable and well done finish out on the units. Make sure you stay here if you’re in town.

Very nice apartment style room. The decor was great and we felt very at home there. Would definitely go back.
