The Townshend

Beyond my expectations! Italian cuisine is never my first choice but after calling a few restaurants in the area and all had about 1hr waiting time for dinner on a Saturday my husband and I decided to check out this place. It was the best choice we could've made. The environment was cool, when you first walk in to the restaurant it looks small but the have an additional dinning room in the atrium which is pretty cool. It gives you a feeling like you're seating outside but inside a building. The food as excellent our waitress was very attentive. I highly recommend this place and can't wait to go back again.

Burrata with the focaccia bread was on point !!! The bread was crunchy and soft in the middle...
It was even good to dip in the meatball sauce . 5*

Steak was cooked exactly as requested pink in the middle but not bloody.. 5* ask for a side of their steak demi glaze!! Definitely a must have ... 👏

The atmosphere was great very nice and fancy place. Focassia was so oily I don't really recommend that. I loved the haddock fish dish so delicious. Also, the pasta was truly authentic and fresh.

First time here and we came for brunch. Couldn’t have been happier. All of the staff were super friendly and the food was excellent. Probably one of the best fried chicken and waffles I’ve ever had. Great mimosas as well. Highly recommend if your in the area of downtown Quincy. It’s also located right across from the beautiful Adams Hancock park.

We discovered this local gem last summer on their outdoor patio and love coming back! The pastas are made in house and although there isn’t a printed children’s menu, they can make any of the favorites from butter sauce pasta to grilled cheese. All the servers are friendly and efficient. Make sure to make a reservation as it fills up fast!

I love this spot, is my return home spot. While I wait for my train I sit here with a couple glasses of wine, recently I had the pasta they make and it was good! I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. The staff here makes you feel like a welcomed regular, which I've now only been twice but I feel like this is part of my way home when the K-line is more sparse. Normally I hate being out longer than I have to be but I do like coming here enough to where I've made peace with it. The night shift guys on the weekends are awesome, very positive attitude, some of the best service I've had in years, thank you for giving me a place to want to return to.

Hi yes! I know the NYE is sold out but are you guys really closing after the new Year? My tiny heart 🥺 I want your delicious pasta though. I come from Sicily despite my other genetics. I hope it's just a remodel

After a day in Boston my husband and I wanted food on our way home, I knew Quincy always has amazing food. We looked up the Townsend and it seemed like our kinda spot!

We got there on a chill Saturday night and got seated right away, the ambiance was superb. The menu that evening I just wanted to order one of everything, but we decided on the arancini, The steak specials over couscous and the Mussels and frites! WOW also did I forget how our drinks? Great selection!

I seriously can’t wait to come back here, this will definitely be my excuse driving from Cape to eat here!

Wow! Drinks, amazing! Food, amazing! Atmosphere, amazing! Service, amazing! Go for the everyday special. You'll eat like a queen for not too much dough. Their mixed drinks are so unique and so so delicious. This will be my new go to place for sure.

Amazing drinks! Good food. Just be mindful that the staff only put in your orders if you make eye contact or call them over. Not used to this idea but it was actually refreshing to be able to socialize without feelings rushed.

The Townshend is a hidden gem in Quincy that my partner and I recently discovered. Very contemporary and laidback atmosphere. The staff is very attentive from start to finish, even on a busy Friday night—almost too attentive. Three different staff members stopped by our table within 15 minutes to ask how everything was going. Ironically, when we were ready to leave there wasn’t a staff member present to clear our plates and receive the check, but we didn’t mind. The menu is new American cuisine with a farm-to-table vibe. The food is served in a timely manner and very delicious. This is also a great establishment for vegetarians as they have a separate vegetarian menu. What drew me to The Townshend for brunch was the shrimp and grits listed on the online menu, but unfortunately it wasn’t available to order. So I ordered the Benedict Party with traditional bacon for Sunday brunch. It was delicious, but I prefer Canadian bacon with eggs Benedict—not American style. This will likely be added to the rotation of places to dine in Quincy.

This place is out of this world amazing. By far THE best mac and cheese I’ve ever had in my life, but every item on their menu is 10/10. The staff is so friendly and welcoming!! Such a comfy atmosphere, and their drinks are so creative as well. Highly recommend!

Excellent service. Great vibe. Always delicious. They are very accomodating to dietary restrictions and special requests. I normally have to modify something. I assume the food is even better if you just leave it alone:)

This is our family go to for almost all important get togethers (birthdays, mother's day) as well as when we are just feeling fancy - it's perfect. Great food, revolving cocktails, and awesome service, plus the owners care about the community and their employees. No notes- I hope they never change!

Their 3 course meal is excellent! Great meal at a bargain price. Twe loved the pasta with mushrooms and pasta Bolognese.

Such a great staff team, exquisite food, and mellow atmosphere. One of the top best restaurants in Quincy to say the least!

From greeting to departure we felt at home. The service was incredible and it matched the well balanced cocktails and quality food. The music was nice, the location is odd but still enjoyable. The other patrons were as young as 4 and possibly 20 times that.... Small but well rounded menu which is executed perfectly. Wine, wine and more wine to please every taste. And oh, the knowledgeable staff is down to earth and gracious with people like me who mispronounced everything. A true gem in the heart of Quincy's granite and concrete soul.

My first time in Quincy and this place was a very cute date spot. They had a great drink menu and good food options. Management and servers were very pleasant and the bathrooms were clean. Definitely recommend if the menu peaks your interest!
