Went to True North as a last minute idea because was in the area. Ate at the bar because we like chatting with the bartender and others. Chloe was very super friendly, attentive and offered a great suggestion when I asked. She recommended the baked stuffed haddock. Just wow! One of the best I've ever had. It was unique, flavorful and cooked to perfection. Never had a bad meal here.

Ate here on Saturday night and it was delicious! We called around 5 to make a last minute reservation for 6:30 and we’re easily accommodated. Sat quickly when we arrived. The place isn’t too large, but they do have a large bar with seating as well. There’s a parking lot which is kind of tight but they have an overflow lot across the street as well! The place was loud with the B’s game on but not to the point where we couldn’t hear each other talk! We ordered the fried pickles and home made potato chips with caramelized onion dip to start. Both were delicious! Batter on the pickles was good, not too thick or too think and the buffalo ranch dipping sauce is what makes it! The homemade potato chips were thin, crispy, and salty and the onion dip was rich but not overpowering with onion flavor. My boyfriend ordered the burger of the month with chorizo and chiles which he said was delicious and cooked just as he ordered. And I got the Detroit style pepperoni pizza. I’ve never had Detroit style, but I loved this! The crispy, cheesy crust was my favorite part. The sauce was slightly spicy, slightly sweet on top, the pepperoni was salty and the dough was soft and chewy. 10/10! Waitress was quick and funny too!

My husband And I just recently discovered True North… safe to say we are ADDICTED. The owner is so engaged and clearly dedicated to providing a level of excellence in every single aspect of this great spot. The food is fabulous, the service and servers are always attentive, quick to check on how the food is and if we need anything. We could not recommend True North enough.

I always order pick up! I have not had an opportunity to sit down inside yet! I am amazed at how True North Kitchen’s food has high quality flavor and portion sizes! I wanted to try different dishes before giving my honest review! I have tried the following: Chicken Parmesan, Fish/Shrimp & Fries, Cole Slaw, Asparagus, Salad, Cheesecake, Canoli, and Fried Pickes! Not one dish was a disappointment! :)

As of Thursday, March 28, 2024, True North Kitchen is officially my number one go to eatery in Weymouth! The ladies that work at the front desk are professional and super nice as well! Thank you all so much for everything! Please keep doing great work for your customers!

My wife and I went to True North on Thursday August 25th for our last dinner before heading back up to New York. From the drinks, to the food and service we would gladly go back. I got a lemon drop martini and my wife got a sangria. For dinner I got the pork Milanese which came with arugula and tomatoes and I also got a bowl of the chicken and corn chowder (AMAZING). My wife got the braised short rib with garlic mash and asparagus. Asparagus was cooked PERFECTLY and the short rib could not have been more tender. She also got a cup of the clam chowder. Another thing tk note on Thursday’s they have a ‘fixed price’ menu where you get a cup of soup or salad, a drink and an entree of your choice that is on their list of options so my dinner was 36 bucks! Our server was Lynne L and she was so nice. Overall 10/10 would recommend and I’m so sad it’s so far away! We will be back :)

Food: Chicken Lettuce Wraps (Lightly fried chicken with sweet thai chili, mango slaw, spicy peanut dipping sauce); creamed spinach, and mashed potatoes

Ambiance: A casual, dim lit, and spacious venue.
Parking: The venue has a parking lot.
Pricing: It's fair pricing, it is not pricey.
Food (flavors): The chicken lettuce wraps were also full of flavor, it had a combination of fresh, sweet, and spicy flavors. I truly enjoyed them. The creamed spinach was great, it was seasoned well and had a combination of fatty and salty flavors. The mashed potatoes were pretty standard, it didnt have any unique flavors.
Portion size: Somewhat large portions.

Nice brunch. Better food than I was expecting, with a tasty take on fried chicken and waffles. Bloody Mary bar was great (what variety!) and you can get it virgin if you like. Vegetables were lacking in the menu and healthier fare was limited.

Solide place for a solo date. Got the New York Strip. Perfectly cooked and really good quality meat. Onion pan sauce was great. Minor critique is that I would loved more asparagus. Solid though.

When you walk through the door you are welcomed like family, but momma never served food like this. The menu is creative and eclectic. Menu options change with seasonal and local options. The servers are pleasant and attentive. It is truly an enjoyable experience.

We celebrated Father’s Day 2022 here. The stuff were above and beyond friendly and helpful! We ordered the NY strip steak and Halibut special for entrees and butterfinger bread pudding for dessert. Can’t wait to be back!

Outstanding is an understatement. Creative chef who made each dish a special treat. Tuna appetizer was an interesting twist (avocado cucumber salsa) on a solid choice at most restaurants. Monthly special burger was Carolina gold BBQ sauce with pulled pork atop the best burger I've had in years. Good selection of craft beer and amazingly friendly staff. I know this sounds like a plant review. It's not.

From the outside you're like "yeah, sure, whatever..." and then after you've hunker down and got some chow and drinks in you do you realize that these cats really care about getting it all right. Delicious.

True North Kitchen & Bar is an Oasis

It was time for me to try getting out again and I am so grateful I was led by a friend to True North Kitchen and Bar in Weymouth, Massachusetts. The ambience, food and service were beyond exceptional. In fact, I was given so much more than just food.

True North Kitchen and Bar is easy to get to. It is right on 3A in Weymouth, south of the Fore River Bridge, where Kelly’s Landy once was. But make no mistake! There is nothing left that resembles Kelly’s Landing. The address is 159 Bridge Street (3A) and there is plenty of parking.

The atmosphere was warm, friendly, casual and fun, both things desperately needed in these times of change. The owners, Joe and Janet Campbell, have clearly adapted to the new ways of being without being dragged down. Instead, they have embraced change and opened themselves to new and creative ways. That in and of itself is inspiring on many levels. I especially loved the little pamphlet where one scans a QR code for the menu. I mean, that should have happened long before Covid in my mind.

The seating inside was clean and inviting, and the outdoor area was tented with generously spaced tables and warmed by plants, rugs and heaters, when needed. Janet, one of the owners, has placed cascades of her treasured vine geraniums to define the borders giving it color and soul.

The wait staff is friendly, personable, and actually eager to please customers. The menu might seem small to some used to mini-books, but I’d rather a slight menu to one that overreaches into leftovers and old food thank you very much. Bigger and more is not always better. All of the food at True North Kitchen and Bar is made from scratch and it shows.

Owners Janet and Joe Campbell bring oodles of experience. Joe was once the Vice President of Operations at Legal Seafoods for over five years and they were Managing Partners at Cohasset Harbor Restaurant (located at Atlantica) for over 15 years.

Beyond their hospitality comes a sense of comfort knowing that the food served matters. It is hard to put into words, but we almost expected to learn something new from our conversations, or have good stuff imparted just be eating. It is so hard to feel authentically taken care of these days when embarking on little journeys in this new world. Joe and Janet prove that there are still many good things to find out there.
